- nymphetamine, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17it wouldve been awesome if I didnt have to pay to get the 'full' version :(
- kefs, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11There are two versions of Notifier2. The free version has all the functionality of the paid version. The limitations on the free version are
1) Total number of accounts (Email + Affiliates) is limited to four.
2) Can not go below 15 min time interval to check for new emails.
3) Can not go below 15 min time interval to check for new results for your affiliate accounts.
4) If you send an email a line will be appended to the end of the email saying something along the lines: This email sent using Notifier2
The paid version gets rid of the above limitations for US $ 9.99. If you would like to buy it click below. - Sensational, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8In my opinion POP Peeper is the best program for this:

S. - Slackwise, on 10/12/2007, -6/+14They want money for a *****, proprietary, JAVA application? Hell no! The poster is inaccurate in saying it's "free." It's only /half/ free.
/me marks as SPAM. - 3rdMEgo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Am I the only one who is impressed by dirtyfratboy. 1/5 of all his stories makes the front page. Although it does seem like he does nothing all day but digg. Not that there's anything wrong with that :)
-mego - oneeyedelf1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Use freepops from http://freepops.org , and just have your mail client notify you. It supports almost any website including the major gmail, hotmail, yahoo. Also has support for multiple operating systems(Mac OSX, BeOS, Windows, and Linux and other Unix platforms) and is open source. I love and use it, and recommend it to everyone
- msafi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4eprompter is reliable and it's free
"ePrompter works with AOL, Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, POP3, Earthlink, Excite, iName, Juno, Lycos, Mail.com, Mindspring, MSN, MyWay, Netscape, OneBox, Rediffmail, SBC Yahoo, Switchboard, USA.net and hundreds of other email domains."
www.eprompter.com - sennmen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Google doesn't want you to have multiple accounts, hence the absence of support in their plug-in.
- moshisushi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5ehm, i mean, the _multiple account_ feature should have been added a long time ago
- jeff1943, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Actually I think this one is the best: http://dynadvance.com/
Keith and Alex mentioned this on diggnation.
It supports, Yahoo, Hotmail, GMail, POP and IMAP. - Magadass, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3hmm I just have all of my other accounts forward to my gmail account, so now I only check one. No big deal now...
- d666, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Does everyone here just trust any random company with their email passwords ?
- paleck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2You have to pay for the full version, looks like crap. Much better appz out there.
- gauntalus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2why not just use thunderbird and set up multiple email accounts? i don't get why this is useful at all...
- Drexel, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4I personally prefer ePrompter, but hey that's me :)
http://www.eprompter.com - mcgirt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1the gmail manager extension for firefox is all you need
- GerryDaman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1MSN Messenger for Hotmail

That's all you need... - ogeetheogre, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2ya i've seen that too
but his stories are usually interesting and not really hot news - maverick999, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2It's already starting to slow...

'Nuff said - gonzales, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1you could try POPPeeper. it handles attachments.
- cthulhu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is what I use. Great software.
- neepneep, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Doesn't GAIM and Trillian do the same thing??
Besides, there are other easier alternatives to this program that I can't see myself ever bothering with this thing.
Bah Hooey! - hiro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I just leave Outlook Express running in the background and have my main Hotmail acct and my Gmail "thowaway *****" accounts diverted there. Alerts me every time a mail comes in from one of my whitelisted contacts so I don't see the need for any other add-on stuff
- deluxndotcom, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2you are correct!
- Drahknon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Why is this program such a huge download?
I tried it... it's okay, but since I have Outlook set up for all of my accounts, it's sort of redundant, especially with the large-ish memory footprint. - antdude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1PopTray has plugins and is free: http://poptray.crause.co.za/
- moshisushi, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2hmm well this feature should have been added to Gmail Notifier a long time ago!
- mattyG, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2yeah eprompter is good unless you get an html or attachment, then it sucks and you have to open it with outlook or whatever anyway >_
- ellingswin, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Instead of looking at 3rd parties, I have found that using Google's products for notification are much more cost effective.
and there is always a firefox extension... - MCH3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Poptray does it all, for free. http://www.poptray.org/
- appletalk, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1While the software is very good and usefule, the digg description lacks important information: it also supports Adsense, Amazon and Sitemeter checking, which is great.
+digg anyway. - CaptainSpeaking, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I already use www.google.com/ig for Gmail. Good digg though!
- MacGyver, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Thanks Sahrs, I'll look into my firewall settings. It's weird though, because coral used to work for me once and awhile a few months ago even though I didn't open up any ports for it on the firewall.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1@macgyver
Your firewall (corporate, personal, or ISP) or something similar (lack of NAT?) is probably blocking port 8080 (the CC port, 80 is the normal 'web' port.)
Firewall is the most likely cause. - maderation, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Hey this is cool! Love the quick email send feature. Very well thought out. From what I can see all the features are there in the free version. If you want to monitor more than 4 accounts you have to pay. Wish it would work with sitemeter accounts that have login / password protection.
- MacGyver, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I don't know if it's my computer, but I always get a connection timed out error when clicking on a coral link. Anyone else have that problem?
- gezuci, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Does anyone know about a notifier that works like Gmail Notifier but can be configured for other accounts.
The main problem (for me) with other email notifiers is that they don't work behind firewalls. Gmail notifier works perfectly from behind a company firewall without any configuration. My only problem with it is that it can't be configured for other accounts.
Since our IT personnel have a yellow streak, I have to log onto my seperate email addresses (externet.hu and freemail.hu) using a browser. Even Outlook Express is not allowed because our company uses Lotus Notes.
How does Gmail Notifier do it?
Logging into seperate accounts seperately is time consuming while a notifier could check regularly by itself.
Please help........!!!!!!! - ronaldpoi, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4No Mac version?... *sigh*...
Would be better if it were a widget (Yahoo! Wigget or Dashboard widget) instead an application... - gezuci, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Or attach the file!
- rickp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Can we send email using eprompter ? This one has a easy to use send email features. It took some time for me figure out but the demos have helped me. Gtalk feature also seems good.
- gezuci, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Please send a URL to gbakonyi@externet.hu
- guymal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0You can use this cool E-mail Notifier for free (works in both IE and Firefox):
http://EMailNotifier.ourtoolbar.com
It lets you check multiple Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, and POP3 accounts. - ellingswin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I wasn't talking about Google Talk. I was talking about Gmail notifier, its an OS X application.
Google Talk...meh - garrycam, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I've been using eprompter for a long while now and it works well. And lo and behold never ever ask for money or the upgrade to the "do it all better" version.
- presta, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Alex is going to wet himself - how many times has he talked about wanting to be able to check multiple accounts on the podcast? And it's for Windows.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Oh big deal...ePrompter has been going this for years.
http://www.eprompter.com/ - caseynt, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Looks like it's a victim of the digg effect... anyone that managed to download the installer wanna put up a torrent for us?
- klept, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0gmail already does that, and it was a pain in the ass. They tweaked it awhile back, and it works better, but if you are playing MMORGS, it will pop up in the background. Sort of intrusive.
Man I can only guess how terrable MS will be. Like usual it sounds like they are too late and too little. - gregoryfenton, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I have Trillian, and Trillian already does that with a little configuration.
