- robertDouglass, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5This, without question, cements Drupal's leadership position as the best PHP frontend for search engines like Nutch: http://lucene.apache.org/nutch/
- gsherwood, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Anyone know the performance of this module? It sounds like a really great feature, but x number of searches and RSS processing seems like a lot of work to be doing.
- robertDouglass, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Hmmm..... not much like phpnuke in any respect. It's probably an impression you picked up somewhere. Any serious investigation would reveal worlds upon worlds of difference.
- whereisian, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4My brain hurts pondering the possibilities.
- robertDouglass, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4@alex.will: you're not the only one: http://drupal.org/node/55516
It will probably only happen when we stop supporting the older versions of MySQL. - clouseau, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Drupal rocks.
- grinin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The OpenSearch module was a snap to install and configure... and it does its job quite nicely.
I - Koosebane, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Wow. I finally got around to installing Drupal a few days ago to see what it can do, so this is great timing.
I've been rummaging around the module list looking for useful stuff. I think this will do nicely. - nogs00, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2i love drupal.... but this is really more about OpenSearch. how does everyone feel about the benefits this module adds??
- berkes, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2" There is no other CMS out there that can claim this." Any CMS that you build with Ruby on rails can me made into an Open search processor by using an engine: http://wiki.rubyonrails.org/rails/pages/SearchGenerator . It is like this since September -06.
So this claim is not true. Drupal is the only mayor CMS out there, but certainly not hte only one. - saso, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Drupal is awesome. The search is not great though. We are trying to integrate OmniFind from IBM with this OpenSearch. Does this mean that the results from both drupal and omnifind can be aggregated?
- CarzorStelatis, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2So what? Why would I want 'a complete OpenSearch processing suite'? A CMS that doesn't make me jump through hoops would be better.
- xamox, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Ohh drupal, if I could make love to you I would.
Now we just need open search to integrate with the Content Recommendation Engine module! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2Drupal will never do it for me as long as they require LOCK TABLES privileges. This makes it impossible to run without constant error messages on most shared hosting.
- makingme, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2I dislike drupal. It seems to me like its phpnuke on crack and steroids.
