NO BLOG SPAM! - Travisty2012, on 10/11/2007, -0/+13It only adds the skin to one page. So if you use multiple tabs you will have the google theme on all of them except the page you added this plugin to...
- xpose, on 10/11/2007, -1/+13It doesnt look right with the latest google page revision. Also at the bottom it says "Google Dark v1.0b is no longer supported.".
Do not install this script. - jdc760, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10"Why is the default always black-on-white, and not black-on-white?"
Quoted for humor. - Travisty2012, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9Who cares what the name is...it doesn't affect the functionality.
- Mystyrys, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7Yes, I just noticed this too. The gadget alters the skin only on the one page. I use several tabs to organize my information. I do not want to add this gadget to every single tab.
However, putting it on each page would allow you to have a different theme on every tab. - anarchistuk, on 08/11/2009, -0/+6About time! The frog and the ladybird is the most boring sitcom I have watched...
- abandonedhero, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6Nobody cares. Just mark it and shut up.
- thekms, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6I've been waiting for this since the day they introduced the themes! Thank you!
- AyoRayRay, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4definitely not
- Dorkbot101, on 07/15/2009, -0/+4Actually it was branded iGoogle from the very beginning. Thus the whole, google.com/ig
maybe not the smartest naming tactic, but the functionality it carries should outweigh any reservation about the naming convention it uses. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6That's impossible. Nothing is uglier than your face.
- spinchange, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Yeah, but if you submitted THAT no one would've dugg it, new what it meant, or found about it!
I know reading is a real pain the ass, but Blog =| Blogspam
sheesh - thekms, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4you're welcome to make your own...
- ericnmu, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Are they dynamic, like the original igoogle themes?
- SuperBloomie, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4it didnt do that to me -- i could move it back and forth and change tabs no problem
- senixon, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3"Custom iGoogle Skins : Dark" - Love it!
- attorneystore, on 10/11/2007, -3/+6this is so much fun!
thanks for letting me know this - devilish, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Anyone else having problems with this in FF? I only get the white iGoogle background/theme no matter what I try.
- vh1`, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3it's not like you can't view the source to see if it is doing anything malicious
- bonstio, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Hi I'm the author of this. Here to clear up a few things.
There's nothing malicious at all - see the source for yourself.
The name iGoogle isn't great let's face it.
If you think the backgrounds suck, fair enough - make your own.
Hope you enjoy this gadget. Hopefully the Digg effect won't kill my server.
You do have to add one per tab. This is totally beyond my control though. As noted, this allows a different skin per tab :-) - kurupttek, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2best one
http://bonstio.net/images/stories/diggSkin.jpg - bonstio, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2OK I think you may have killed it :-0 The database has died. I have backups of course... Trying to figure what's going on right now!
- InsomniaSlim, on 10/11/2007, -5/+7The gadget requires inlining... from my iGoogle page:
"Module requires inlining. Inline modules can alter other parts of the page, and could give its author access to information including your Google cookies and preference settings for other modules. Click OK if you trust this module's author or delete to remove this module."
Not sure if I trust a third party with this kind of power. - superpixel, on 10/11/2007, -3/+5thanks for the link Mike, that's pretty cool!
- MrZee, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4Warning: Do not drag and drop the gadget to another tab! I did that and I can't switch to any other tab besides the one it originally showed up on.
- bonstio, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Back up and running!
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2This is great, when can we see more themes avail for this?? *loves it*
- Baku, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2With that in mind, you can view the source here:
http://igskins.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/customSkins.xml - vh1`, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2now that would be an interesting gadget
one that would let people create up to, say, 8 different styles for various times throughout the day
very doable - iDigg, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2hey ! what's wrong with that...
- chris182, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2I didn't realize you could customize tabs to have individual skins. Pretty cool.
Chicago Cubs theme woohoo!!! - senixon, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2No custom skins for you!
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2anyone have the URL for the Skins database?
- neuropsychguy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1What's sad is that you sit around watching it...
- XistenZ, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1This isn't working for me either ... I wonder what has changed
- xigxag, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1In trying to get it to work, I added the module 3 times. Now when I remove the 2 that don't work(?), they return when I refresh. Cool idea and implementation, but wtf?
- poochums101, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1This is proper buzzing! :-) Have added a different one for each of my 6 tabs
- kirkness, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1www.blackle.com
- senixon, on 10/11/2007, -3/+4brown noser
- bonstio, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Errrm I got dugg and the server went mental.. should be OK again now...
- HiCaP, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Also shows the change in weather, nice to see all these options.
- DoctorLondom, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1It works and is killable when viewed using IE.
- dcpweb, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1wow - thanks for sharing really cool.
p shah - http://www.dcpweb.co.uk - goldenratio, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2It's not working for me at the moment. It looks like the skin server may be overloaded (digg effect):
"Whoops. Failed to retrieve skins from directory: ERROR: Unable to connect to database bonstio_igskins." - senixon, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2My only works under the tab where the gadget is located, dragging to a different tab changes it, but the original tab goes back to Google's setting...
- sp1keNARF, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1http://igskins.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/skins/digg/digg.css
when i installed the gadget, it kept saying it was loading the skins directory... then i went and found that uri and put it in, and poof, all the skins were available. - AzraDarkness, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Thanks you for letting me know, i've been using this for about 2 weeks and didn't realize it :D~
- goodoldharris, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1I like the product, but completely agree that they chose a terrible name. You gotta wonder what they were thinking.
- Bebc, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Sounds cool. But IGoogle is good enough for me.
I do not want to spend more time on it. -
