- resentment, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Who still uses Kazaa?
- distrbnce, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Headline should be "Uninstall your version of kazaa" and it should be 900 days old.
Use soulseek, or if you're just so stubborn, kazaa lite. - nerdjesus1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Kazaa? Wha? Oh, that old thing? Like resentment said, people still use that? Ugh. So many viruses and spyware and adware. LimeWire and Warez, bitches!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3lol kazaa yes I remember something called kazaa, we used to use that back when we had to walk up hill both ways in feet of snow to get to school.
- digikill, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Did anyone post something like "Kazaa? Who uses that?!?" yet? Just checking so I don't sound like a ***** idiot.
- oldcyborg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Kazaa had gotten where it took all the time, but very seldom gave back. It doesn't matter if you find it, mark it, and it sits there for days without downloading. So it has been gone since I heard the feds were after them. Too easy a trace..... Bittorent is my way, for the present, altho' I can't download anything and still surf effectively...Bandwidth eating mutha.
But I can download, If I want to... It'll be something else in a year, I figure.
Cyborg - distrbnce, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3i can't imagine any kazaa faithful come to this site
- yogurtslinger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2i do i do, and guess what? i still use kazaa lite 2.4.3 k++, and guess what again? it does still connect unlike all of the news about it said it wouldn't over a year ago.
granted it's a pain in the ass looking for music anymore but if you're good like me it's easy to pick through the fake ***** withough downloading the crap that's on there.
here's a tip for finding music..... let it search for awhile and sort by quality, look who has the most users for the bitrates of 128 and 192, also hover over the file and look to see if there is a length of the song "usually between 2-5 mins depending on the title"
good luck, it works for me - skyfex, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3"Kazaa? WTF, people still use that?"
It's been said 100^100 times above, why did you feel the need to say it again? >_> - Terjon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I'm sorry, but Kazaa needs to be laid to rest. This is just one more reason why you should take poor old Kazaa out back and shoot it in the head (Metaphorically speaking of course, I do not endorse violence toward software, only people).
- Twelve-60, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2LOL kazaa? wow, ramzi must be back in town
go bonzi buddy - Nerfdude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2you kids and your p2p.
- tastypastry, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2i stop using kazaa about over a year ago. Its all torrents now.
- Stormen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Jezus.. Does anyone still use Kazaa? Here's how things have progressed:
Napster -> Morpheus -> Audiocatalyst -> WinMX -> Kazaa -> Shareaza -> Bearshare (lite) -> Limewire
RIAA, you're still two steps behind all of us! Muhahah :D - distrbnce, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1why the hell are you people digging this crap?
- whitesanjuro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1^^ cute...but i think you are ass backwards...the average slashdot reader much more sophisticated (as noted by RTFC on any story)...but seriously, people using systems that keep logs and aren't encrypted are retards.
- codyman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Kazaa hasn't been on my computer since the FIRST release of limewire... now I use bitcomet and cabos (built off limewire, but fast and polished)... thats my two cents...
- subtle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Limewire does it for me, but this is a heads-up for the Kazaa faithful.
- x2dx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Kazaa full of songs that play for 30 seconds and then are corrupted by blank noise.
Ares no ads good speeds.
If your using Warez i suggest you get Ares since its just a hacked version of Ares. - Deviant_Tech, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wow, look at all the kiddies talking about using Kazaa like they're original gansta or something. Pffft. I was using Napster when it was free and you could only download one thing at a time. Punks.
- PrometheuZ, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Napster was great at one time, Kazaa was ok at one time, bittorrent is still marginally ok now, yet going to hell & taking the same route Hitler took to get there.
So what's left? Figure it out. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3can ya feel the love on here? ;P
anywho fer all u h8rs... h8 all ya want, but guess what happens when n00b networks like this r gone? think... comon.. u can do it... ok, ill give ya the answer.. when there gone it allows the **AA to concentrate mor eon the other networks ;D
so be nice, even kazaa serves a purpose - Tobey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I think jsac was having a seizure when he wrote his last post. I have no idea what he said. Or maybe I'm getting old.
- ThugG, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0shareaza+++
- icetigaurus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Although I usually just use utorrent to get things, if I was inclined to use kazaa I would just use the Klite k++ 243e version which is crap free and still works the best of any kazaa client.
- Nerfdude, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1"Jezus.. Does anyone still use Kazaa? Here's how things have progressed:
Napster -> Morpheus -> Audiocatalyst -> WinMX -> Kazaa -> Shareaza -> Bearshare (lite) -> Limewire

if by "all of us" you mean "wannabe followers", then yeah. - Rice, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Who the hell uses Kazaa?
- RMuffin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0If you still use Kazaa, you deserve to be SHOT!
Use Shareza, it goes on EDonkey, Gnutella, and Gnutella2, their own network.
www.shareaza.com - Mike.ohara, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Shareaza?
- bitz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0P2P like fasstrack, gnutella, bittorrent, edonkey2000, winmx, soulseek are for the noobs like "click kiddies" and people with lame dialup connections.
I2Phex is for the rest of us.
Does the average p2p user on those older networks and clients share gigs of content, tens of thousands of files? Certainly not. So far the average i2phex peer does, its tiny network reaching more than 1.4 terabytes of content.
I2Phex replaces all them old p2p networks. Does not suffer from firewall and filtering problems, or isp logging and bad peers.
Is not prone to crashes and bugs like those that plague shareaza. Upload rates are respected. Leeching and fakes is not a serious problem, for it either. It is also not too hard and complicated, so there is no major learning curve.
For quickly sharing new large content, bittorrent client ported to i2p can be used.
Anyone that is not brain dead, should want to use i2phex and i2p bittorrent or is not really interested in doing safe filesharing. What is filesharing without the danger and risk of getting caught and sued? Many people are just fearless and very reckless that way. They speed, drink and drive, skydive and swim with sharks, even love to play with fire. - chrisjester, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I didn't think anyone used Kazaa anymore.
http://www.misterjester.com - sirkevinthegeek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0What the heck is with all this hatred? Sure, true blue Kazaa sucks. But the FastTrack network itself is still the quickest way to find individual songs that you can't find a torrent for. You kids these days... I remember when you had to just rely on 0-day ftp servers, usenet, and irc fserves. Then, it was Napster and CuteMX (for everything that wasn't an mp3). Then somewhere amongst the post-Napster P2P wars, Kazaa rose to the top. Gnutella sucked from the get-go. Bittorrent rules now. The End.
- meig, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I hate when kids think they are 'teh leet' for using BT.
- IHaveIssues, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Shareaza is the way to go. Kazaa? No thanks!
- TigerClaw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I still don't get why people are still using Kazaa, If Kazaa weren't around, We wouldn't have all this spyware that's been going on.
- mikeazorin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Who dugg this? No one uses this crap anyway.
- skinner, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0kazaa sucks...hmm lets see when was the last time i used it....along time ago lol, i use BT and limewire and sometimes ares but lastely its been giving me some trouble connecting, nehh limewire is faster anyway.
- PlayWithFire, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0*who uses ANY p2p client these days? What with such technologies as bittorrent and usenet*
uhm, bitTorrent is p2p
i've enjoyed reading the comments more then the story itself.
Yeah, Kazaa was good at one time, it replaced audiogalaxy for me (best one of any older p2p IMHO). And audiogalaxy replaced napster
never heard of soulseek, must go check it out
but yeah, these days i don't think twice. It's all BT, and the google hack "intitle:index.of -html -htm -asp -php -jps artist mp3" - MonkeyFit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"May I be the first to say:
Don't update Kazaa - Kazaa is for theifs.
Or maybe thiefs."
The plural form of "thief" is "thieves".
I've never used Kazaa nor have I ever planned to. I use to use bearshare, but when I reinstalled Windows, I didn't reinstall Bearshare. Don't really use P2P networks. Dial-up sucks. - SmeRndmGy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0kazaa still exists????? have you people never heard of bittorrent and dc hubs?
- sych0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0who uses ANY p2p client these days? What with such technologies as bittorrent and usenet
- michaelg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Kazaa, limewire, warez p2p, ares, they all suck. The only one I like for music was soulseek but it too is starting to suck.
It's all about usenet and bittorrent private trackers. - jasonhazel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@sych0
BT is p2p. - iDo890, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I use Bearshare baby!!!!
- ksgant, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'd like to digg for more stories but since Digg is currently under attack (you'll see what I mean when you go to digg for more stories) it's impossible to do.
- IraqManiac, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0heh heh anyways because I still use kazaa and there are no alternatives [/sarcasm]
- jman420, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Acquisition is all I need. I remember kazaa was my first p2p experience. Ah farewell1!!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Shareaza/Bearshare (lite)/ Limewire are for noobs.
- Overdose, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0bit torrent
