- mikesay98, on 10/10/2007, -1/+12Personally, I find many of these services annoying, as a buyer. First off, things like auctiva, when on a seller's page, add more to the graphics and description, and it can be overkill. Second, when I win something, I get extra emails. Like the amount of emails I already get from eBay when I'm outbid or win other items isn't enough, now I get one from auctiva on top of it all, just to tell me what eBay already did! Lastly, when I go to pay, I can't just click on pay now on eBay and pay through PayPal. No, I have to click pay now, be referred to auctiva (which is extremely slow half the time), which referrs me BACK to PayPal!
If you ask me, these services are redundant. You're better off creating a good page with the tools eBay offers, or learning some html to create your own. Less is more, especially on eBay. - colto, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7I just had one hell of a bad visual image...
- LanceUppercut, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9It is nice that they have free tools. I used marketworks(auctionworks) back when I sold a lot on ebay. It is worth it.
As for these free tools, i liken them to ky jelly since ebay's fees have everyone bending over and grabbing their ankles. - yeahbuddy, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7Selling is easy if you are an OS X user. This is how:

Great software. - mikesay98, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5The whole point of this article was to highlight free services. The one you mentioned will cost money.
- bowe, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Dude you are really strange.
- sinkhead, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5The reply button is there for a reason ;)
- airiox, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5links to the stuff suggested would be nice...
- Radian, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4I just went to getitnext.com -- they had 15 seconds to capture my attention and sell me on why I should them to search instead of directly on Ebay. Mission failed.
- sanfranciscorob, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4As a longtime seller with a high rating (5K+ positive feedbacks 99.9% rating) I would tell anyone who wants to make a living on eBay to steer clear of these tools. They have serious integration problems especially if you have a high volume store. Often these are small companies (one I know of has only two employees) and while they have your best interests in mind persistent glitches and buggy updates have left me in the lurch having to pull down two thousand items and put them back up - the second go-around I dumped the free stuff and just went with eBay branded programs. In the long run which is worth more to you, a small fee or massive amounts of time saved to concentrate on other critical areas of your business? My .02
- MauiMac, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Where the hell is Google Auction? eBay/PayPal fees are getting out of hand!...
- Bonekhan, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Yeah, but he needs to place himself as the second comment, so people will see his "wit" (of a four year old) so he can sustain himself with a little attention, like you and me are giving him.
- bstolzberg, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1iSale is worth looking into. its OK. id recommend getting virtual pc and runnig turbolister. isale is nice if you actually use your isight tho.
- DexDoomsday, on 10/10/2007, -3/+4Now I gnome what to do...
- kualla, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1The free programs are great for people that only need to sell their junk/etc stuff once in a while... Not everyone is selling massive amounts of stuff on ebay trying to make a job out of it.
- vacuum2440, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1lol I'm not trying to advertise for this site nor am I trying to get anyone to switch to using getitnext but I am just saying that personally for me I find that it filters out all the crap and finds me what I'm looking for
Now if you're trying to say the technology within the site doesn't work just because it didn't capture you're attention within those 15 seconds then I must say you are a poor observer and very stubborn. Of course even digg didn't seem worthwhile for my first 15 seconds on the website but I soon grew to understand that it is a great tool for looking at global news and interesting stories. - waylandchin, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1What about ebay stuff for the mac?
- fromonesource, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1just don't sell on ebay at all
- command-tab, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2I've used eBay Market Research hundreds of times to look up approximate retail values of items to determine if they're worth selling, and it's been extremely helpful. Market Research is about $25 a month, but the concise data and graphs it offers are very handy. It also offers great filtering, so you can, for example, filter out all auctions with 0 bids to find the average selling price for items and not the average listing price.
(Full disclosure: this was while working for an eBay PowerSeller, so we had good reason to use the tool.) - BigOldMouth2009, on 01/17/2009, -0/+0I dunno...eBay is pretty cool. I just got a new car on their site. http://www.autohideout.com
- dragon76, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1It's a waste of time in a discussion about free alternatives to try to convince people that paying for a product is better. If they wanted to pay for these services they wouldn't care about the article.
- CaviMike, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0Damn garden gnomes.
- aptmunich, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1Meh, try iSale instead. Garagesale doesn't even support wysiwyg editing, so I might as well be using eBay's online tools...
www.equinux.com - vacuum2440, on 10/10/2007, -3/+1Selling on eBay can definately be a difficult task at times, especially when it comes to making you're item stand out amongst the rest to make a sale... I have really slowed down in terms of being a seller witht less effective results but I have been using eBay much more now as a buyer considering it is the best place to find everything and anything you could ever want. With eBay's somewhat messy and unorganized search feature though I have turned to such sites as http://www.getitnext.com for finding my items on eBay...
- AmplifiedMedia, on 08/19/2008, -2/+0If you want to sell on more on eBay then you should think about getting better product shots.
check out Bling! It - www.blingit.us - this site shows you how to transform product shots and boost online auction sales. the Bling! It app. automatically optimizes your images for eBay, Amazon, eBid etc.. - now that is cool - Craga89, on 10/10/2007, -3/+1I knew it! Gnomes really do exist!

HAHA. You just use their link to ebay as your normal ebay bookmark. They also pay you for purchases @ buy.com, circuitcity, office depot, compusa etc. Are there any others similar to this?
http://www.bigcrumbs.com/crumbs/frontpage.jsp?r=dieBay - bstolzberg, on 10/10/2007, -4/+1THE BEST software to manage ebay shipments is Shipworks !!! www.shipworks.com - SRSLY!!! All ebay sellers need to check this stuff out. if you still write labels or go to the post office at all this software is a MUST. enjoy.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -7/+4Listing something on EBAY is big pain in my ***** ass.
- sewalsh, on 10/10/2007, -6/+1don't want to spam but http://auctomatic.com/ is a service launching soon that does ebay listing management.
