- ThreeDee912, on 10/25/2007, -2/+122Basically the same thing happened to TorrentSpy. They were forced to block everyone in the USA. :-/
Well, my ratio went from 3.14 (I try to keep it at pi) to 1.12? That's not good... - troelsbay, on 10/10/2007, -4/+112Wait, isn't demonoid based in canada now? How can they block canadian traffic if they're actually in canada?
- Renton, on 10/10/2007, -3/+110"Hey, demonoid is back up"
"Cool! Lets go crash their servers" - blachole, on 10/10/2007, -9/+116Looks like a lot of people owe TorrentFreak an apology...
- Riker, on 10/25/2007, -2/+108"We received a letter from a lawyer represeting the CRIA, they were threatening with legal action and We need to start blocking Canadian traffic because of this. If you reside in Canada, that is the reason you are being redirected to this message. Thanks for your understanding, and sorry for any inconvenience."

- abddoc, on 10/25/2007, -3/+83This is the first time that living in Canada has been a bad thing.
No, wait, I can use a proxy. Living in Canada is still awesome!! - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -10/+85Quote from the Demonoid Chatroom:
We received a letter from a lawyer represeting the CRIA, they were threatening with legal action and We need to start blocking Canadian traffic because of this. If you reside in Canada, that is the reason you are being redirected to this message. Thanks for your understanding, and sorry for any inconvenience. - Crisender111, on 10/10/2007, -12/+66RIAA CRIA, MPAA ***** = ***** you!
Demonoid rulz! - stonedslacker, on 10/10/2007, -2/+55For anyone who can't access Demonoid anymore, you can install the following Switchproxy addon for Firefox.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/125
Then google your way around for proxy lists and tutorials (if you haven't used proxies before), and you'll be back in business. I used to do this when my ISP was blocked by demonoid a few months ago. Browsing becomes a little slower but imo this is the best way for a workaround.
If you can access the site using proxy but the tracker cannot be accessed by your torrent client, there are proxy workarounds for that too depending on the client you use. - haveblue, on 10/10/2007, -4/+50We received a letter from a lawyer represeting the CRIA, they were threatening with legal action and We need to start blocking Canadian traffic because of this. - fxspec06, on 10/10/2007, -0/+17And a pretty decent ratio as well! everyone loves pie
- twtmc, on 10/10/2007, -3/+19They didn't block us from the tracker! *dances* all you need to do is find a browser-based proxy and go download the .torrent files through that. A bit annoying, but where there is a will, there is a way.
