I find it troublesome that you would beat a dead horse. Yahoo took inspiration from Digg (a high-profile news site) to implement voting on Suggestion Boards (a glorified suggestion box for Yahoo properties). They even credited the inspiration. That's flattery, not theft.
Go yell at Jason Calacanis for netscape.com for awhile, would ya? Better yet, get a different hobby. - mgoblue5453, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2http://www.digg.com/tech_news/All_of_the_Old_Techtv_Host_s_podcasts_merged_into_one_feed check this out. it uses pipes to creat a feed of all the old techtv hot's current podcasts
- ernieoporto, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3You are under the mistaken impression that these are a loyal bunch or that anyone should care about such things when "similar look and feel" has already been declared a non-issue. Content is king and only that will determine the winner. Keep recycling stories like this three days later and a year later and stories about conspiracy and the same damn story about evolution and the same Family Guy clips over and over and you only prove this community to be worthless. The answer lies within you.
- VeganG, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1They should quit beating around the bush and rename it Yahoo Tubes.
- rjha94, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Down under these guys are using plagger (http://plagger.org/). I have this sort of RSS aggregation requirement and I was just wondering what kind of tools people actually use for syndication. (Tool or library not GUI tools). Personally, I have used java rome libraries and I found them to be quite nice.
- krokodil, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1The sad thing is that such feed is pretty much useless!
Most RSS abrogators fetch/show only about 20 last items. Also they usually check RSS feed once an hour. So all of your feeds together contain more than 20 items you will likely no miss some. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1Pipes crashed firefox2 and IE6. It did work OK in Opera.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1Just crashed opera too.
- tseif0, on 10/12/2007, -9/+3Ted Stevens was wrong! The internet is not a series of tubes, but it's a series of pipes.
- BlogJones, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1Hey, check it out! It's the StalkerFeed 9000!
- LFAB, on 10/12/2007, -9/+1Yahoo pipes = suck, but that article has a comment that points to yourminis, which looks cool (if you're into looking cool, that is).
- evileyetmc, on 10/12/2007, -10/+2Actually, since tube is a synonym for pipe, he's actually right!
//and we have been making fun of him all this time...maybe we should all apologize
///on second thought, the ignorance warrants him the mockery
////slashies! - displaynone, on 10/12/2007, -9/+1I'm about to go lay some pipe.
- CBanga, on 10/12/2007, -10/+1That's what she said!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -14/+1After that issue with Yahoo stealing Digg's interface, design, and features just yesterday, I find it troublesome any of you would digg up a story which advertises Yahoo services.
Talk about short attention spans.
