- Patogrande, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5DAMN YOU VERIZON!
- tehrob, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Congrats on a first rlease! This looks like a great project that will finally bring youtube videos to all mobile browsers hopefully!
- bleep1912, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2only it doesn't work properly yet.
- mediaphile, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Well I was wrong about there not being a phone app, but the video makes it seems as though you would just use your built in browser.
- neodorian, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I got it working on my Treo (not the Java app, but the web interface). It's been stuck on processing all day.
- JamesWilson, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Be nice if it could MMS to your phone, I have a Razr and it doesn't have a nice video player like the PocketPC does in the demo.
- kris33, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1That woman voice was just painful.
The project looks great though. - bluesuga, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1i love the name
- Dested, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Soo can anyone else download the app on their phone? It seems to throw a 403 forbidden...
- Demens, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Yes there is, as i entered my phone HTC Wizard, it offered me a java-applet.
- stupergenius, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1It also has a Java video player apparently. Dunno if the Razr is supported or not with that, but I imagine it would be since it's so common.
- rtimmons, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Joey 2.0 will be rebranded and merged into 'the internet,' a product released in the 1970s by former vice president Al Gore that also serves as a mechanism to deliver content to mobile devices.
- bmatheny, on 10/10/2007, -0/+13guppies (http://www.3guppies.com/cell-phone-videos) does this for video, audio and pictures. And it works on Verizon.
- dbz253, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1looks like orb is already a lot better than this.
- riffola, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1The java midlet crashes on my Sony Ericsson P990i when I try to view any of the uploads on the phone. Also the select button doesn't work 90% of the time, thank goodness for the touchscreen.
- clueless25, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Hasn't Orb Networks already done this?
- pheedback, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1The answer's not in the box, it's in the band.
- AbeVigoda, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Seems like it would work for iPhone (given there's a bit of video conversion involved). Anyone get it working there yet?
- bleep1912, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1edit: nvm
- fkr3, on 10/10/2007, -3/+2Yes... because there's no other way to get youtube into a browser! Also why don't they just call it a proxy cause that's what it sounds like.
- mediaphile, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1there's no app to download for your phone. you just use your phone's web browser to go to the joey.labs.mozilla.com page and pull up a mobile version of your content. the only software is an extension for firefox on the desktop computer.
- ElbridgeGerry, on 10/10/2007, -4/+2Worst name ever.
- Demens, on 10/10/2007, -3/+0"Joey hasn't processed this yet"
Yeah, it takes forever for a few lines of text at the moment. - chobbney, on 10/10/2007, -4/+0Did anyone else think 'Project Joey' might be some sort of attempt to resurrect Joey Deacon?
I'm very disappointed it's just an application. - JlmAWP, on 10/10/2007, -6/+1Hmmm, doesn't seem to have the iPhone as an option...would have been badass too.
It's still a pretty cool way to gather sites/pics/videos to show someone later without having to travel all over the internets to show them. Especially if you use multiple computers daily.
