- maklershed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+94Best article description field ever
- imafish2002, on 10/12/2007, -1/+85like reading digg?
- clairmont, on 10/12/2007, -0/+66If they read the description on Diggnation, that would be hilarious.

+slap upside the head for the submitter for his description - shreveyboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+31Title title should be written as: Convert Everything...50 Megs and Under
- Septimus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+27ASX is a redirect file. Not a format.
- phantom42, on 10/12/2007, -4/+27havent tried it yet, but looks like a damned good find.
- LlFT, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18Now if only they can convert U.S. Dollars into Euros with out loosing any data...
- klang, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18what do you call "OGG" and "FLAC" ?
- interiot, on 10/12/2007, -1/+19"More secure because you do not have to install software on your computer, which can contain viruses, spywares"
WTF? That's sort of true, but not really. Does anyone really want to upload their sex tapes to a server for transcoding, because of security issues? - Fratz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18Wow. What a clever way to get copies of everyone's media. I bet the site maintainers have thousands of hours of new music one week from now.
- heavyd14, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16Save the .asx and open it in a text editor. Its just a playlist.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17Most annoying synopsis ever.

not sure why you would want this but http://duggmirror.com.nyud.net:8080/software/Convert_Everything/
a mirror of the mirror
http://duggmirror.com.nyud.net:8080.nyud.net:8090/software/Convert_Everything/
is even better. - phonetik, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15@onelikesabass
Actually, there was nothing elitist aobut his post. For those of us in the real world who would like to convert more then one file at a time and not deal with uploading our file to a website, foobar is the easiest way to do this (besides dbPowerAmp).
The configuration is not complicated, it's not a PITA as you claim if you just read a little. Granted foobar is a bear to use to get it looking like itunes and such, but oob the convert feature works, and it works well.
So STFU about elitism and RTFM. - rolfeman02, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14or stick them in the closet
- sLydE, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16and here I was going to reply to the comments with
"worst description ever." - diggapleaze, on 10/12/2007, -3/+17in linux it's called mencoder
- themastersb, on 10/12/2007, -9/+23Where's .ape?
- hoowahman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13definitely only useful for small files, transfering them over the net to convert kinda sucks but it could relatively be a quick solution if you dont have any software for the job.
- memerot, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13Just send them to me. I'll convert them for you, I promise.
- Ares139, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11@kbarrett: Actually Septimus is right. If you notice, that ASX file is only 155 bytes. What kind of trailer is only 155 bytes? Microsoft's video compression isn't *that* good, believe me lol. Try opening the ASX file in a text editor and you'll see where it points. You'll need a special downloader to download from mms:// sites, though.
- wunch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Three-letter acronym overload! . . . IMO
- muaddib420, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9note that the max file is only 50mb, so converting a movie would be impossible. this is pretty neat for documents and music though.
- FresnonserF, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9@lolcollege:
A lot of professional software chokes on compressed file formats. I know that final cut pro requires audio to be in .wav or .aiff. - squirrelza, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10dbpoweramp :) who is with me on this one?
- burndive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8You know they're keeping a copy of whatever you upload, right?
- Talus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Not very useful for converting very large files if you ask me...
I'd rather an application that converts my files locally. Fast and no bandwidth. - Lemon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8"mp3 to wav... why?"
Most audio editing programs use wavs. Samplers, beats choppers, etc... - bsolidgold, on 10/12/2007, -2/+91. Move your mouse cursor over the Blue, Underlined text.
2. Use the index finger on your right hand to click your left mouse button. (Index finger on your left hand and, right mouse button if you're using a left-handed mouse).
3. Wait for the page to load.
4. Enjoy. - dhakbar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8dBpowerAMP ftw
- IEatHamburgers, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Unfortunately, just the western formats - .CHR, .ISL and .JEW. You must pay a tithe if you are converting .CHR files on a Catholic PC, and if you try to convert a Shiite .ISL to Sunni .ISL only Allah knows what'll happen to your computer... If your computer is running a Marx-based OS these files will likely not function, but that's the price of having an alternative operating system...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6ITYM "TLA" overload.
HTH. HAND - onelikeseabass, on 10/12/2007, -11/+18Yea, great.. Foobar2000... right
"Support for transcoding all supported audio formats using the Converter component (requires external commandline encoder executables for different output formats)."
aka, it's a pain in the ass to use and this site submitted by jaksauce is a hell of a lot easier
elitists... - IEatHamburgers, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I can't believe I tried to read that...
My brain hurts - kbarrett, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6@Ares139
Boy do I feel dumb. Thanks ;)
Did everything you said. Works like a charm.
For anyone else having this issue. You can download everything you need here.
http://home.comcast.net/~msazone/garage/mmsStream_page/mmsStream.html - blandrys, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Since nobody mentioned it... Mediacoder will transcode most audio/video formats....

Open source. Yes. - crawfishsoul, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7@bsolidgold - But aren't you supposed to double click on everything, even the Internets?
- mike1979, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5dvr-ms???
- Kyderdog, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Or change him in to a woman
- Phoenixfury, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I'm glad you asked that Mike! I can't seem to find a good dvr-ms to iPod mp4 (aka iPod) converter out there, especially one that can deal with anything recorded in HD. I was able to use a commercial converter that did work, but it was really choppy.. Unacceptable!
- Sokkermick, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9good find, took a few minutes to convert a 4MB .mp3 file into a .wav, but I guess thats not a big concern if your not in a big hurry and have something else to pass the time with.
- AkshayGenius, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5actually SUPER from erightsoft also does all this, ahve been using it for a long time and converts pretty fast. Havent tried this yet though, looks good.
- jaredseth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Damn, I haven't thought about Hijaak in ages. I'm pretty sure I still have a CD somewhere...wonder if it'll work on XP. Time to experiment.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4DRMed WMA to MP3:
Fairuse4WM for DRM WMA to DRMless WMA
DBPowerAmp (or just about anything) for DRMless WMA to mp3
Tada! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5In my defense, his Dugg mirror link was misspelled, so I posted the correctly spelled link. At that time he fixed his link.
