- XorSystem, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19The best MS Office assistant is the disabled/hidden one
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14You find a bitmap of a paperclip made to look animate comparable to a person?
Have you ever been outside your house? - robishack88, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14I say the red bouncy ball assistant was the best out of all of them. If you can say there was a best one......haha
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12I still wonder \***WTF***// is that stupid "assistant" in ms word. does anyone actually use it?
- chiatar, on 10/12/2007, -7/+18How does crap like this make the front???
It's not funny.... oh wait yea it was... in like 1998 - WalterDirt, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13Holy crap someone has a time machine cause this crap is from like 1996.
- pixelbeat_, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Here's a cool skit video of clippy:
http://www.pixelbeat.org/ms_mirth/paper_clip.mpeg - Whitey04, on 10/12/2007, -8/+15Yes yes, everybody likes to poke fun at clippit. But is this front page news???
- Bennethon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I like the office slut. I need one o those.
- mindtrick, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Absolutely
- josegutz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Clippy is old news, you should check out Desktop Debi. She does anything and everything you want...Oooooooooooooo
- spect3r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Yeah, lots of people use it. It's MS's help system in graphical form.
Really, when you think about it.. it's AI hard at work.
But when you know what you are doing, it's annoying. If you don't... the little bugger probably works.. - dehappy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4The 2nd picture (the one with Clippy crying) has a small bit of history attached to it.
When a developer makes a change to the Office source code, they send "checkin mail" describing the change. That picture was actually part of the checkin mail a developer sent when he permanently removed Clippy for Office 2007 - it's something he quickly slapped together, as removing Clippy was far too monumental for mere text to describe. He also was a bit punchy at the time, having worked ~14 hours straight at that point... - *blu*, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Y-O-U-R,
Y-O-U-apostrophe-R-E,
They're as different as night and day.
Don't you know that night and day are different?
What's wrong with you? - Pattyo13, on 05/14/2009, -2/+5i can have googled the problem and fixed it by the time clippy opens, and starts it's 1/2 hour searching process
- mr.hostility, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4The suicide note is the only funny one, and it's old.
- wijllie, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4No need for mirror, Ezprezzo can handle the traffic as I have seen before...
- epilonious, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Could be worse... it could have the Goatce image telling you "LIEK OMG YU NEED TO LURN HOW 2 SPELZ LUL!"
- Dabellah, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2My job is one that includes on site assistance with PCs whether it be one on one trainings, PC repairs, virus/spyware removals or just network setups. I have to say I have seen Clippy used by a few people in the home successfully (as in, it worked and did what the client wanted it to). I was pretty amazed because everyone I know who has ever seen the guy has just been like "I hate that damn paperclip!"
- snownskate, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Actually I have never seen it before...and it's called comedy. Some of us enjoy a little bit of this in their lives as opposed to the 7 (yes I counted, ***** 7!) Apple keynote articles that are on the front page right now.
- ZerozenOnes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This made me wonder, has anybody ever seen "him" actually using a computer. I bet that 'd be entertaining...
- LiquidPenguin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Sure is nice to see the public school system is still doing a great job at educating the youth of America.
- protogenxl, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2The Average user does not know how to change The Office Assistant
- 4degrees, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1its new-k-ya-ler
- tdbgamer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i just forgot what i was gonna say... lol
- skeeter2000, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1I want the George W Bush one so he can help me screw up my documents!!!
- rafgar, on 10/12/2007, -6/+4I've gotta agree. It's funny, but is it really worthy of the front page?
On the other hand, this just reminds me that I've got to make a clippy shaped punching bag one of these days. - ahhell, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2That wasn't funny at all..let alone HA HA funny.
- Kruez, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0Isn't his name really Clipit?
- Kruez, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0Oh, excuse me. It's Clippit. I seem to have dropped the first P.
