- beelz, on 10/12/2007, -3/+62how many clicks does it take....
- phytar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+58Nope - their DNS host decided to have problems the day of their launch - pretty crappy luck.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+60digg effect after 9 diggs?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -7/+60""digg effect after 9 diggs?"
Really? So 316 people dugg this (so far) without actually being able to see or use it? Man, new low for Digg.com."
Digg is described as a social bookmarking network for articles and news throughout the internet...Key word there being bookmarking. so 316 who actually havent seen this site is curious enough to "bookmark" it for a later read, so now I ask you since people are using digg as a tool to bookmark how that has become a new low for it? - bennyboy371, on 10/12/2007, -9/+52NO ONE CARES ABOUT YOUR BLOG. I see you too damn much promoting that garbage on here. Shut up already!
- pixogen, on 10/12/2007, -4/+34Remember that diggs don't equate to visits ;)
- habitat2050, on 10/12/2007, -5/+28digg it then come back later
- speedyrev, on 10/12/2007, -2/+20How can so many people digg this when they can't even get to the site.
- plusbryan, on 10/12/2007, -3/+20how is this spam? I'm a founder of pairwise (likebetter.com), and though I appreciate the amazing response, it certainly wasn't submitted by me.
- herrshuster, on 10/12/2007, -5/+21this works...pretty well. take a look at my results:
plan things in advance - correct
teenager - correct
desk messy - correct
fine with unclear facts - no
drained by meeting new people - correct
epathize with others - correct
communicate best one on one - correct
employ logic - correct
i'm a guy - correct
i'm liberal - no
not religious - no
prefer music in background - n
i'm a night person - correct
you're right-handed - correct (that's a hard one to guess!)
You're the kind of person who acts first and thinks later. - correct - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+17that wont work here...
- lildude3077, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15They also have a sister site, hatemore
www.hatemore.com
It seems that it is down also, though. - TheJash, on 10/12/2007, -6/+19I think he was using this thing called sarcasm. :)
- TheThirdWheel, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13Makes some specific guesses that seem to be right half of the time (makes sense), then the rest are generic horiscope statements "you are logical" who doesn't think they are logical. I picked the pictures I liked least and it had the same amount of insight into myself.
I love how people fall for this kind of thing so easily. - KenMo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12I blame Bush
- aks123, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12Sorry, I couldn't understand your comment, but I dugg it anyways.
- scottyallen, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11@cyberdork: And you don't think that says something about your personality?
- phytar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9I think they had to disable the psychoanalysis due to the load on the server - normally, if you click the little brain below, it will try to determine things about you (like your personality).
However, if you create an account, all your image clicks will be saved for later when the analysis is back up again. - lordthor, on 10/12/2007, -6/+14@TheReport
That's a good point, I never thought of it like that. I would have thought the same thing he did, but the way you put it, that makes sense, you're right. - phytar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9After a while you just click on the brain and it tries to guess who you are. Normally this is done while you're clicking images, but they had to disable it due to the high server load from the launch.
- trogdoor, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10I really wish there was a way for duggmirror to mirror server side scripting. Don't you hate it when you want something but you know it's impossible :(
- Shorties, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8I don't know, thats just what their website said: http://www.pairwise.net/likebetter/index.html
- david76, on 10/12/2007, -6/+13Self promoting, lame.
- hansenjm, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9do you think people digg things so it stores them in what they have "dugg" so they can come back later?
- snowpatrol, on 10/12/2007, -6/+12Dammit, the internet tubes are clogged again!!
- zorblek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Except it doesn't tell you anything. So it's slightly less interesting.
- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -6/+12he means how similar they are to him.
- NoDakMAC, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Bummer for them, sounds interesting. I'd like to see more than the first 2 pages.
- uday0210, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6After I select 20 or so pictures, I click on the brain to see the results; most of it turns out to be pretty darn accurate, until the following:
First prediction:
"The brain thinks you are a GUY."
I can then click on either "Correct" or "No, I'm a GAL". I click on "Correct".
Next prediction:
"The brain thinks you are a GAL."
I was like WTF. - kalleanka, on 10/12/2007, -6/+11Ok 540 people have alredy dugg this just to see it later...
Sorry guys, I'm just to curious now.
*541 diggs now* - cyberdork, on 10/12/2007, -7/+12This is complete BS. The only thing the little brain will be able to tell me is that I prefer sharp contrast-rich images over blurry, dull-colored ones. I very often clicked on the photo which I preferred for it's quality of image and not for the motif.
- nonpareil, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5CLICK ON THE BRAIN TO GET THE RESULTS AT ANY TIME...otherwise you'll be doing this FOREVER.
- goggleBOX, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7It is a basic statistical attack on the subject (you). Collect enough data about a population (humans) and then ask enough questions of a single subject and you can determine it's place in that population. Think of it as a game of 20 questions.
- goggleBOX, on 10/12/2007, -5/+9I suppose you all read the horoscopes too? People will believe anything they are told after a test like this as long as it is positive. If I told you that after reading this you where smart and not easily impressed with statistical analysis of populations you would probable believe me.
- dailo10, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Occasionally, I will digg to bookmark if the site is slow (or down).
However, I always come back and review the site too determine if it's actually interesting... and then it gets UN-DUGG if it's not DIGG-WORTHY! - projoe, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6I wish there was a feature to bookmark. That way people won't digg a story to bookmark it. It has often happened, and inaccurate stories have made it to the front page.
- Shorties, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Ok some may believe it, but I think a lot of the digg audience are more interested in how it works and what it says.
- biometricks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Oh, *****... you gotta click on the brain to finish it. I feel like for spending an hour on it.
- theokayplus, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5They gather the data as you correct the guesses it gives. Initially there was probably a small sample as a seed. Machine learning, for the win!
- plusbryan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4click on the brain, it will give you it's guesses. you'll have to vote on 20+ images first though.
- Shorties, on 10/12/2007, -2/+50wned:
We're so happy likebetter.com made it to the front page of Reddit.com and Digg.com at the same time, no less. But our server was less thrilled than we.
We're bringing another server online and are cleaning up the mess. Anyone want a job here?
Please come back later when the tide has died down. Likebetter is cool, we promise. - uday0210, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3click on the brain to see your results.
- stmiller, on 10/12/2007, -7/+10http://www.colorquiz.com/
The website looks a little lame, but the results from this are quite accurate. Check it out. - Hiker, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Umm... what does how many diggs it have do with ANYTHING? If, say, 1000 ppl hit the site at once but nobody diggs it, there's a decent chance of problems happening. The number of diggs it has is irrelevent so why do peoiple keep SAYING this? Or have I got the wrong end of the stick here?
- nonpareil, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3...this thing better guess my social security number by the time I'm finished.
- treblig, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3How long does this take?
- benjholla, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This test seemed pretty accurate for me, of course I didn't know you had to click on the brain in order to finish it. For those of who had poor results maybe you didn't give it enough data to make an accurate prediction, the site was slow, but I still clicked on about 50 images. This test reminds me of the Myer-Briges personality test from my psych class. (Which is currently the most accurate and trusted test for personality tests)
- david76, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4I liked it better before it was dugg into the ground.
- Gullop, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Thanks for the head up, i been clicking these pictures for ages waiting for a result haha.
- xand3r, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I've clicked on 50 images so far with no result. How patient am i supposed to be here?
