- tabularassa, on 09/24/2008, -8/+289Message to Chrome team: I got a fever and the only prescription is more AdBlock plus
- kenyan, on 09/23/2008, -5/+210How about we get some updates for it... It's fair enough that its fast, but when I'm dealing with ads, 0 add-ons, and having to work around to scroll up using my touchpad, I would rather use FF3. (esp. since 3.1 is on its way).
- drizzlelicious, on 09/24/2008, -4/+151Using a browser for its error message. Excellent.
- Junior612, on 09/23/2008, -13/+143Oh wow! What a huge change! .85% to .77%!
I still use Chrome. I like the funny error messages when it crashes. Whoa! - Rahzel525, on 09/24/2008, -7/+75I believe your prescription should also contain more Cowbell.
- 4cdawgs, on 09/23/2008, -12/+76Not in the least bit surprised.
- whahaa, on 09/24/2008, -6/+63NO ADBLOCK, NO DEAL.
other than that though, i do like a bunch of their ideas. even though i'm not using it i'm glad it's out there in FOSSworld and i hope firefox can incorporate some of the cooler features down the line. - inactive, on 09/24/2008, -4/+57Sorry, I just couldn't give up my sweet themes and add-ons.
- jpeuvion, on 09/24/2008, -6/+58We are not giving up; just waiting the right moment to use it.
- spepin, on 09/24/2008, -1/+50Chrome looked cool, worked alright and was pretty fast.
I didn't like the way things were set up though. I'm sure once they fine tune it, people will give it another shot. - noahgelman, on 09/24/2008, -3/+44People are actually going BACK to IE?
- Myztry, on 09/24/2008, -3/+41Or to put it another way:
Over 90% (.55/.85) of users who tried Chrome have stuck with it.
Pretty impressive for a first release! It's not like it was bundled... - state08, on 09/24/2008, -12/+46Damn, it took that long to return to their regular browser?
Took me about 35 seconds. - Chesshaha, on 09/24/2008, -8/+39Why would anyone return to IE??? Switch to Firefox before it's too late!
- macinit1138, on 09/24/2008, -5/+30No Mac version either. Google not impressing they way their stock price suggests they should be.
- ogremidget, on 09/24/2008, -3/+27Google Chrome AdBlock with Privoxy fixes the problem.

One thing I still don't like about Chrome is the video playback. I find myself switching back to Opera just to watch flash videos like on youtube. - marshallpeck, on 09/24/2008, -2/+26Like "oh, snap!" that's my fav.
- chrisOrbit, on 09/23/2008, -2/+25Confirm Form Resubmission
This web page requires data that you entered earlier in order to be properly displayed. You can send this data again, but by doing so you will repeat any action this page previously performed. Press Reload to resend that data and display this page. - SyntraFTW, on 09/24/2008, -2/+25They wanted AdBlock again.
- str3ama, on 09/24/2008, -6/+26at least it beats using it because it's the default browser that comes with your operating system (IE/Safari I'm looking at you).
- rockjunky116, on 09/24/2008, -3/+23That's what I say about my penis
- SillyDigger, on 09/24/2008, -12/+31After I found out Chrome acts as a keylogger and they retain identifiable information on what users type for 24 hours I uninstalled it. I don't see the point of doing that.
http://www.computerworld.com/action/article.do?com ... - chrisprang, on 09/24/2008, -0/+19That's because its BETA. Most people installed to check out the initial progress. But will return to it once its v1.0, like myself.
- bizsumpark182, on 09/24/2008, -4/+23Here is one full time chrome user.
- goodbick, on 09/24/2008, -3/+21I uninstalled Chrome because I think google already has more than enough information compiled about my websurfing habits.
- neodude237, on 09/24/2008, -0/+17A google product reaching 1.0... never...
- nerddtvg, on 09/24/2008, -3/+20I didn't even change to begin with, running Linux was apparently too much for Chrome. And no, I was not going to use it with Wine when Firefox and others run without a layer of APIs under them.
- randomstupid, on 09/24/2008, -1/+172% too much
- negativefx, on 09/24/2008, -4/+19"the new browser now reaches that mark only in the middle of the night"
Porn browser! HAHAH! - Rekzai, on 09/24/2008, -1/+15lrn2scroll properly
- abynion08, on 09/24/2008, -4/+18Return to IE?
Who Does That Anymore? - djphatjive, on 09/24/2008, -6/+19plus the fact that firefox doesnt TRACK EVERYTHING YOU DO!!!!!!! Its right in the user agreement.
- phaseblue, on 09/24/2008, -5/+17Drop that Mac version on us and maybe a few more people would support the early enthusiasm...! Still waiting to try this out (and too stubborn to try it on my old PC).
- phronko, on 09/24/2008, -2/+13I like incognito mode more than just occasionally, IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN.
....I masturbate constantly. - Vektuz, on 09/24/2008, -0/+11Installing an extension is far better than installing a new always-on service on your machine.
- MrM4nager, on 09/24/2008, -1/+12I used Chrome for a while, but eventually I switched back to FF. I still use it on my dated laptop, it feels more lightweight than FF.
- drunkirish, on 09/24/2008, -2/+12With Adblock, I don't EVER see ads. I can't even remember the last time one slipped past the filter. How can Privoxy work better than that?
- inactive, on 09/24/2008, -1/+11I would like to at least try it someday.
I use Linux and Chrome does not support Linux. - whahaa, on 09/24/2008, -3/+12Whoa!
- inactive, on 09/24/2008, -2/+11You make opera users look stupid.
stop it! - portis, on 09/24/2008, -1/+10Your eyes need to be checked.
- LocalDocal, on 09/24/2008, -1/+9What are you talking about? Firefox currently owns 20% of the browser market share. That is extremely nice considering, at one point, IE owned 90+% (a marketshare grip that people thought was impossible to break).
It's a shame that Chrome is losing marketshare, but I have hope that it will get out of beta (God, I hope Google isn't going to put this in eternal beta too), and eventually a nice marketshare (probably not as high as FF or IE, but nice nonetheless). Really, Chrome is an awesome browser. All it really needs are add-ons, an improved design, and perhaps a few other things.
Probably a better name too. - Yeknom, on 09/24/2008, -1/+9One word: Incognito
- Awspire, on 09/24/2008, -0/+8What got me all giddy about Chrome was its practically instant-on startup time. But, beyond that, it sucks. Problems with Youtube streaming, no drop down URL bar, crappy bookmark access, no sidebars, plus other little stuff. FF3 is my browser of choice.
- marshallpeck, on 09/24/2008, -6/+14ComputerWorld is a horrible source of information.
- windohs, on 09/24/2008, -0/+7application SWEET? sounds tasty...
- inigomntoya, on 09/24/2008, -0/+7You keep waitin little buddy.... :(
- latrosicarius, on 09/24/2008, -4/+11I just hope firefox 4 is redesigned to support the whole multi-process design thing, the built-in task manager, and the desktop web-application support--- all great ideas. But these concepts built into firefox would be perfect.
I don't like the fact that chrome automatically checks for updates without the browser being opened. Don't be like microsoft. Don't infest my system.
I already disabled it from the idle task schedule and it still wouldn't stop. I had to block it with ZoneAlarm.
I could also do without chrome decorating its own borders. Please respect the operating system's theme ---- especially important when the linux port comes out, seeing as there are a myriad of windows decorators available. - aussieNickuss, on 09/24/2008, -2/+9Well, it hasn't once crashed on me, so I can't use that as a benefit to keep using it.
- Jeremyz0r, on 09/24/2008, -0/+7Chrome uses un-documented calls, how could Wine support it anyways?
