- kualla, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1wow I really could see this taking off and getting big... it helps link up people that share common interests and could help people collaborate more on stuff. God do I ever luv mozilla firefox!
- ting, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Nice potential!
I hope all work out. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Perfect for digg comments.. chat in real time instead of comments like a forum.
- dergachev, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Check out stumbleupon for the same concept except not live. (It allows you to see a forum for every site you visit, which are all pretty populated!)
- overaction, on 07/14/2009, -0/+1Well, digg for us destroying their website.
- yeahimthatcool, on 10/12/2007, -7/+8Perfect for porn.
- allthewhile, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0wonder if he sells the browsing habits.
- spy1325, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0digg should have a feature that sends a notice to the network admins of the sites that get front paged.. so they can prepare for the slaughter of their bandwith...
- xVern, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0install and registered, only...its not working.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This thing is great. Too bad they weren't ready for the scale of new users though. No digg.
- spy1325, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0ye anot working on any sites i try.. anyone got it working? i really wana see this in action!
- shaneau, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Bandwidth is usually not the problem, server resources is (CPU/RAM).
- Hoss, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I got a "rails" error a little while ago... wonder if it's using on Ruby on Rails???
- Tezgno, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I've noticed that the application requires the site to run. So, while under the digg effect, it seems to operate a bit slowly.
- Tobey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It was working for a second there. And then it died. But I got registered, which is good... for some reason.
- neofactor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This thing will never last...
The infrastructure required will take the service down quickly.
What is there business model anyway? There site is up and down so I cannot find anything to answer it. - compu73rg33k, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"I've been working on a similar solution. Now I'll have to decide whether to drop my hard work."
No, keep making it and have bandwith. It'll be a hit. - Josxko, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Lluna has been doing this for years. Where have you folks been? :-) Not using Jabber I guess. Interesting for the socialites. Happy New Year...

- h3adstr0ng, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Thanks for all the traffic digg.com -- you guys rock. The site is running less the optmial right now :( It will take time to get some stronger hosting, so check back later.
Thanks for comming by --adamw523
your welcome. - Twoism, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This probably won't break out as the next big thing, but I would like to try it after they start accepting registrations again. Can someone submit a screenshot?
- Frost35, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Well, the guy's closed down the digg channel, so it runs pretty good now :P. Now we all need a new place to connect (go google :P)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0no privacy statement.. i have to agree with star and atleast be cautious.. i dont really want everyone to know i am leaving the digg channel for the pron channell
- helzerman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Not accepting new registrations. :-(
- mr804, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0someone should make something like this, but make it join an IRC server and not require a freaking registration. You could do all the same stuff pretty easy with some programming.
- stedios, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0yea, after a few tries i got registered.. but doesn't work ;0 guessing its down ?
- dirtyfratboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@spy1325
I was in the digg.com room before it got to frontpage and adam, the admin of yak, admitted he was pretty much a deer in headlights to the looming crowd of diggers with his limited server capablilities - pwallroth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0this site is gona have a digg hangover for at least a day.
- aaronlidman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0site's gettin pounded.
- Skrag, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0the digg community could probably make or break this idea...if everyone just spread word of this to a site whose users they wanted to yak with, it could explode into a huge...whatever you get the idea. *sigh* too bad its been diggleted right now
- Olle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Oh man.
What an anti-climax for me.
I've been working on a similar solution. Now I'll have to decide whether to drop my hard work.
*sigh* - sonic767, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Slashdotted. The email parsing routine is broken too. It bounced my email address (I think because of a dash in the name part)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0No digg.
Companies who don't dare to tell about what they are and do should be touched with a 6' pole. - aaronlidman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0-friedbeef
same here
this would be awesome if it was in real time, would be cool for forums and such. - lame_duck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0My bad, it was Excite that had it. lol I loved that site back in the day.
- DPowers08, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That would be cool if this would be incorporated into future browsers in order to reach a much wider user base. A great idea, but could be expanded on to attract more users.
- ShadowMarth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yep, it's been crashed. By the slashdot affect, digg style.
- nucleocide, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0sounds like proprietary junk to me (Only working with firefox/plugins for other browsers). The userbase would never get big enough. A better solution would be some sort of standardized server side thing(y) to do this, maybe using everybody's friend ajax.
- Warptera, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The Digg effect has taken ahold... But I was able to register and download, so all is good. However, the extension is a bit slow. (no big deal because of the effect this site has.)
- spy1325, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0ijust got a login screen! wooot. damn, i got the same message. but still at least we know its being delt with
- Frost35, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0..scratch that. Its running better, but seems pretty bad still (silly digg effect >
- spiderland, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I got a blank box before, now I'm getting this:
"sorry digg users... the digg channel is not available right now... .please use other... will fix soon" - Shownarou, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Sheesh.. The Digg effect is a most interesting thing, I'll have to remember to check this out once I can get it to load..
- rompom7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0this thing got dugg alright.
- rc_collins, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The server at www.yakalike.com is taking too long to respond.
- lame_duck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0amicor: The orignal Virtual Places chat software from lycos *I believe thats who made it* had this feature back in 1997, maybe even before that. Haven't found a good implimentation of it since.
- wtfkeyhole2pro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0it's not working :(, hope it works later
