i was trying to get at that it crashed once everyday
i don't even own a pc - wannabetenor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!
- lotus22, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Since owning XP only like 2 times have I seen the BSOD.
They have come a long way. - SystemError, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Great site but an old post
- Duncan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0ME was the worst..
Only BSOD ive had in windows was from farked hardware, only once, few weeks ago
Take out the bung hardware, happy days.
Windows++;
Digg--; - superal1394, on 10/12/2007, -0/+098 is by far the worst, but it isnt bad if you install all the updates (all 1 million...). XP has been good, the only time i ever had a BSOD on my laptop was when it had physical damage to it.
- seriypshick, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Those days are over for me. I'm using a mac.
-Dugg - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0chris3435, I usually see it on XP everytime I boot up my notebook. It's a physical memory dump.
- cosmic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0that screen was more common than a restart in win 95
- ChaosElement, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The only time I ever had a problem with BSOD's in the last few years was a few months ago, where it would BSOD on me every 30 minutes or so. Turns out I was experiencing a slow and painful hard drive failure. :(
- ebenthurston, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0love it. dugg.
- Linuxrocks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I like that PSP billboard, it's pretty cool. Except for the errors.
- AndrewTechie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I work for a school and one of my primary responsibilities is maintaining 30 dell computers running windows xp ie. A computer lab. Until recently, they had seen heavy use for 2 years without a reinstall. We saw at least 3 BSODs every morning when we came in and usually 1 or two during the day. This gallery just gives me the shivers!
- mikataur, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I've found people mainly get them if they push their machines, ie, they are power users. If you are just using Office, or downloading, surfing the web and IM, your chances of ever seeing a BSOD are small.
But start doing stuff where drivers are involved or large amounts of I/O, and you're in new territory. - SlappyMc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0what is this. more and more often Im getting the digg effect; am I the only one?
- Smoktiludy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Oh yeah...the latest Windows 'patch Tuesday' Update totally crashed my laptop. I got a BSOD after reboot and I have to reinstall XP.
- TheBaumer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Ive seen it once while I was browsing with firefox and miraculously it never happened again.
Is it really that common of an occurrence? I'm always hearing horror stories about people getting BSoD'd, but Ive never really had any trouble. - Smoktiludy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0haha Chris, you have obviously never used Windows before '98. I used to get them almost daily on Win 3.1
- chris3435, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0How many of you guys have seen the BSOD? In five years of owning a windows PC i think i saw it once when i did something with my video card.
- neocitron, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Windows XP doesn't BSOD on me at all... but that doesn't mean its good.. it still sucks... and it still glitches out. and it's till but ugly...
- Dustin3737, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0bah ha ha, this is my absolute favorite http://daimyo.org/node/45 during the install!
- zzz@tkz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"I like that PSP billboard, it's pretty cool. Except for the errors."
Almoast as good as the real thing :). - zenghost, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0ive never had a BSOD on xp...
but on 98...man thats another story
id get them frequently on a daily basis.. - cvrefugee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'm talking about text near the bottom of page 2 - http://img472.imageshack.us/my.php?image=jackedup0sg.png
What's up with that? - salmonmoose, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0They should bring back Guru Meditation errors :) they were hardcore :)
- chris3435, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Does Linux or Mac Have something equal to BSOD?
- xenix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Linux/BSD/Mac OSX have kernel panics.
Mac System 9 has the bomb error message as shown here http://media.urbandictionary.com/image/large/image-10626.jpg. - seriypshick, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Does Linux or Mac Have something equal to BSOD?"
Yeah mac has a black/gray screen w/ white text. Linux, black screen white text(BIOS style).
Never happened to me though. - AlanLivingston, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I write drivers for Windows. I see BSOD all the time since my code isn't always perfect in the beginning.
But, to be honest, in the first couple of pages of images, there was only one BSOD. - mancat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Google Image search for 'linux kernel panic' and you will get some entertaining shots, too.
Whoops! Looks like your Linx presentation has died!
http://linux.gda.pl/Pingwinaria_2001/pb2_48.jpg - decile, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I love the McDonald's picture
http://daimyo.org/files/images//mcd_bsod.jpg - TheNik, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I've been using Windowz for quite a while and I've seen a blue screen, but it wasn't this one.
After downloading/installing MS' recent patches, it deleted all of the styles in my resources folder for some reason. ;-;
I have a Gnome one. :) - sharedferret, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I've gotten a few BSOD's on XP, and thousands on 98 and 95.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I have had one BSOD since I started using Windows XP 5 mths ago on a new laptop. It was some IRQ error that happened when I used the built in card reader.
Thats enough for me to switch to a Mac for my next com. - gamerzworld, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0http://daimyo.org/node/25
^^that why I NEVER trust banks. - TiMMY8765, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I actually BSOD'd walmart's self-checkout, instead of waiting for them to fix it, the customer service lady said I didnt have to pay since I didnt have alot.
- CoSMoSYS, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Got my first BSOD a couple of days ago on XP while using iTunes 6.0
- Pooavenger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0that's awesome but most of the shots are horrible.
- gamerzworld, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0http://daimyo.org/node/22
^^where can I get one of those? - nerdboy1987, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Windows Xp, NT 4, or 2000, when set up correctly, with bug free software, with no hardware failing, should be just as reliable as Linux. Why would they use 9x on public things?
- ajh1138, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i love how the page's layout is all screwy.
meanwhile, the world's Irony stockpiles are dwindling. - Tobey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I haven't had too many with Windows 2000. Probably one or two every year and I've been using Win2K for 4 years now. But it's usually because I've got some piece of hardware crapping out.
With 98, it was a different story, I was getting one just about everyday.
I used a Mac for 7 years and it probably only crashed about 30 times in those 7 years. That was one thing I liked about Macs, they were much friendlier when they crashed. You just got a picture of a bomb blowing up and a simple three or four digit error code.
I've been using Linux for a year now and have yet to see it crash! Go Linux! - BlueStarr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"How many of you guys have seen the BSOD? In five years of owning a windows PC i think i saw it once when i did something with my video card."
Like my PC using friend said "Turn off the option to auto restart when a crash or serious failure occurs. Then you'll see the BSOD again."
Points and laughs his ass off at you and the rest of the WinZealots. When my Mac does suffer KP once every two years it's not OS X fault it's an act of God. He does this just to make things fair. - Crazy_8, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Heres a few pictures from other OS's...
We have the blue screen of death we all know:
