- awk101, on 10/10/2007, -8/+162At least it was colorful!
- tehrob, on 10/10/2007, -0/+137Instead of security code, they should have asked for Social Security Number... THAT is what they did wrong.
- subxero37, on 10/10/2007, -2/+114I think it's 'cause GMail hides all images by default.
- wiirdo, on 11/14/2007, -7/+104Oh damn! That was fake? I got pwned!

- Four20, on 10/10/2007, -1/+78it's like a phisher was frozen in time(the days of aol), and brought back to the future
- sTiVo, on 10/10/2007, -3/+73>Or did you just forget the /sarcasm? :P
The best sarcastic comments are the ones that do not require the /sarcasm tag. - Piedramente, on 11/14/2007, -2/+71The law of large numbers dictates that even the lamest of scams will eventually succeed.
- hyped, on 10/10/2007, -3/+67buried because your title makes me want to punch you in the face
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+63but I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that this is NOT the best phishing email ever
- ravage386, on 10/10/2007, -0/+57Sharpie.
- Nougat, on 10/10/2007, -1/+57You know that somewhere out there, there's a monitor with someone's GMail address, password, date of birth, and country on it in black marker.
- DocHoliday22, on 10/10/2007, -0/+50The warning code: VX2G99AAJ is what got me convinced that this is legitimate....
- huskerdude, on 10/10/2007, -0/+42Oh noes! The Data Bases!
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+42It saddens me that the voice reading that in my head paused for every fullstop. Damn you, Grammar!
- yohan, on 10/10/2007, -2/+41Why would you need to enter a security code if you were already logged in?
Anyway, this isn't the best ever..
http://img95.imageshack.us/img95/9199/steampromotions2473754wm.jpg - SpacemanSpiff, on 10/10/2007, -0/+39Except that it asks for the letter from the security image. There is no letter.
- ylp07, on 10/10/2007, -2/+38P.S. Would anyone be interested in purchasing volcano or cloud insurance?
- ssavoy, on 10/10/2007, -1/+37Because the spammer's 6-year old daughter made this one.
- kmpr326, on 10/10/2007, -2/+37Don't be a pussy, this guy seems legit.
- edwartica, on 10/10/2007, -1/+34Its like the fisher price version of the gmail logo, or would that be "phisher price?"
- AnotherThought, on 10/10/2007, -0/+32Dugg for the "Warning Code: VX2G99JJ"
- mikecolby, on 10/10/2007, -0/+31Isn't AOL the internet?
- elnerdo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+28Your/My grandma.
- thetechkid, on 10/10/2007, -1/+28And hurts to look at.
- Kwipper, on 10/10/2007, -1/+27And you know, I am willing to bet that if people were still using AOL, there would be someone that would fall for this.
- therightclique, on 10/10/2007, -1/+27psst. tons of people still use AOL and its sickening.
- joe7845, on 10/10/2007, -0/+25Yeah, they didn't want to break the law.
- rabidg00se, on 10/10/2007, -2/+26it means that gmail hides all images by default, so they used text...which part didn't you get?
- jtb4, on 10/10/2007, -1/+24Hello Dear Sir, I am the widow of the late Deputy of Ministry for the country of Senegal who died in a plane crash (see the news story here) and I am contacting you because I recently found $6,000,000,000 hidden in a safe and need your help transferring it out of the country....

- jasonthedce, on 10/10/2007, -2/+20Conveniently, you can just copy/paste from the image so you don't make a mistake and get flagged as a non-human.
- Alaskan57, on 10/10/2007, -0/+18Hmmm.. my clouds have been acting strangely lately..
- codered1322, on 10/10/2007, -1/+19Must have been a scammer summer intern. He's not getting a job offer after graduation.
- zclip, on 10/10/2007, -0/+17You know, normally these phishing schemes are absurd but I used to work with a lady who got her account cleaned out. Her and her husband had been talking about getting online checking set up and they weren't stupid or incompetent. They just happened to be caught off guard ... well one of them anyway. The lady said she'd call the bank and that same day her husband received one of those phishing e-mails asking to confirm their account. He thought it had something to do with the wife calling the bank and proceeded to give his information. All in all they lost about 15k. Tough luck.
- Kauzman01, on 10/10/2007, -1/+16I'm so confused.
- ToadLeg, on 10/10/2007, -2/+17I hate it when I make an obviously sarcastic comment on digg and people take me seriously. I never know if it's going to be people like talphin reading my comment, so sometimes I put the /sarcasm in when I shouldn't need to.
/sarcasm - judbeasley, on 10/10/2007, -0/+15So when will they delete our accounts then? This sucks.
- louiedog, on 10/10/2007, -0/+15If the master of tech says so, it must be true. Please don't hack me.
