- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13This shouldn't even be on Digg as requested by the author near the top of the page:
-------------------------------------------
This list is an extension of my well known "46 Best-ever Freeware Utilities" list. I reserve this list exclusively for subscribers to my free Support Alert Newsletter and kindly request that it not be publicly posted. - Gizmo.

The person should have respected the author's request. I'll mark this news as spam. - ArmandoM, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Uhhh... only if you count the 90% of computer users.
I prefer not to. - zimm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4a couple of those are straight shareware.
and a couple more are only "free" because they come with spyware/adware. - zenscope, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5http://www.google.com/search?lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=better%20defragmenter
- opusagogo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I bet $100 that this same will show up again on the front page of digg next week. Anybody want to take my offer?
It has already been posted four times on digg.. - doctechnical, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3You'd rather have "Stuff this in your pipe and smoke it" as a substitute for "Enjoy"? ;)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Agreed.
"Enjoy!" = I've just done you a huge favour. In fact, thanks to my act of greatness, I'm shortlisted to become canonized by the Vatican. - Demagogue, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Idk why, but when people put "Enjoy." at the end of a description I dont like it.... Maybe because its overused.
- dbpigeon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yeah, too few people know about linux and too many gamers have to go with windows to actually play the games.
- pdeco, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Again? Come on. I am tired of this and everyone of these "best software" list. This one especially has made it to the front page.
- PhantomaZero, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Sweet, an Adobe Acrobat Pro replacement! Thanks!
- Drood, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Oh for crying out loud. How many of these "freeware lists" appear every week on here?
- noghead, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3The problem with this is its not the best list ever; best is subjective. Also, there is a bunch of useless apps. However I still digg because after some digging around (pun not intended) I found something I could use.
- foshizol, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I love this stuff. I usually find at least one thing I can use. So quit complaining and just move on.
- capajc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Timesheet program? Hmm. I think he's starting to reach just a bit.
- tokyopimp, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5How many times has this been on Digg, like a thousand now. It's good stuff, but I don't understand how it keeps getting to the front page.
- nthitz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ummmm... some of these suck... It reccomends Google Web Accelerator... Which due to it's crapiness is not a good choice.
- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1wow i hope these freeware utilities are even BETTER than last week's free utilities!
- handeyman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i agree this list is awsome but its made the front page numoris times
- handeyman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1http://techtakeover.com/all.htm
- farkninja, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This has been posted countless times, well, the 1-46 part. At least you posted the extended list to save others from subscribing to their list. If you changed the title this would be great.
- Slim_Thug, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1wow this gets posted weekly
- foshizol, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Please...
Gizmo is probably the guy that submitted to Digg. - foshizol, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I like Foxit for a PDF viewer. It's fast, and it doesn't ask you to update every few minutes like Adobe. But I've been looking for a free PDF writer so I'll give this one a try.
Thanks - jpesicka2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1what operating system are these for?
- Portfolioso, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It would be better if the page didn't say best free __________ every time... They could just list the object
- bytor7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is good into, but this has to be one of the most duped stories on Digg. It is posted every couple of weeks and always makes it to the front page. I won't digg it now, or for the next dozen jackasses that post it. Try searching first. If it's been posted in the past month, wait to repost it.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I found this pretty useful. Wish I could digg it twice.
- dbpigeon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Actually, if you check the submitter's website you can see it isn't.
- Zephyrspecial, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Not exactly. PDFCreator will NOT create PDF files that can be *edited* in Adobe Acrobat Pro, so it's not quite a replacement. True, it will create PDF files, but so will OpenOffice - just choose Export as PDF.
- edge211, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1http://www.primopdf.com
I think this is the best free PDF writer I've ever found. - thetasine, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I think that first link, the autostich program is a GREAT find. I've been looking for an "automatic" program like that. I've tried it on various photos, and it found panorama that I wasn't even trying for. Great thing.
Beware though, it tries to "phone home" so block it if you use a personal firewall. - irie, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Where's the exclamation mark in the title of this?
That is always a sure fire way to get front page here.
These items need to stop. - monsieurgrand02, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Why not have them continue to flood the front page. It's free stuff! And those who are new to Digg most likely haven't seen this before...so its for them.
- MalDON, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Wheres firefox, and gaim, and all the other great open source apps? Including open office.
EDIT: Turns out they are on the first part of the list. - dupswapdrop, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2didn't i see this before?
- dimatt, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Good stuff, i've been looking for a better defragmenter for some time.
- antisthenex, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Wow, I've never seen this before.
- crapiolio, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1dupe!
- elroy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+180-90% of this functionality is included in OS X. that's one of the reaons i can't stand windows... you have to install a bunch of third party crap to make it usable.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0defrag c:
Seems to work fine. If you find it isn't, increase your available free space. Nothing helps reduce fragmentation more than getting more free space. - xvalx, on 10/12/2007, -10/+4sa'lfdjgl;sfakjj ... enjoy
- firenx, on 10/12/2007, -30/+2people still use windows?
