- ThinkBox, on 10/12/2007, -3/+55I've got a feeling a lot of diggers will be seeing this --
"Sorry, but the serial number you entered is not eligible for the Photoshop CS3 Beta download. Please try your Photoshop CS2 serial number again, or, if you do not own a license for Photoshop CS2, you can purchase one on Adobe.com and use the serial number to download the Photoshop CS3 Beta."
All depends where you got your SN#. :-/ - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+44I believe it leads to more people growing up to use Photoshop for their careers. If they've used it all their lives they would be more willing to pay for it and use it professionally.
- colincornaby, on 10/12/2007, -2/+44So.... instead of Photoshop you plan on using... Kid Pix?
- leobaby, on 10/12/2007, -1/+37I see why people pirate this thing, it costs $650.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+29universal binaries...
- stmiller, on 10/12/2007, -1/+27And the top search on google mysteriously becomes: "photoshop cs2 serial"
- wild, on 10/12/2007, -6/+31It will be cracked by Sunday anyway...
Sadly, I bet PS is the most pirated software on the planet. Leads to a lot of bad photochop... - JeffH, on 10/12/2007, -1/+20My fully legit Creative Suite CS2 serial number says i'm not eligible for this. The site must be buggy right now because on the previous page it says with the Creative Suite CS2 I should be. It's the full version (not student), and I payed a buttload for it. Those bastards >_>
- bbrosemer, on 10/12/2007, -3/+22Its becasue your using internet explorer...
- apotropaic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16I stole your guys keys and used them already. Sorry!
- plum, on 10/12/2007, -14/+28You asked for it, and here it is. The serial number for Mac version:
1045-0745-1722-2350-4339-0600 - ExtremeRyno, on 10/12/2007, -4/+18How exactly is Adobe dead? They create the standard in graphic design and desktop publishing software...With the purchase of Macromedia they now have the standard in web development as well. I'd say Adobe is doing better than ever....You must be one of those Linux users that thinks The GIMP is the end-all-beat-all because your system isn't powerfull enough to run Adobe products through Wine.
- bbrosemer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15This really does scream on the intel macs...
- lickmygiggle, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15How in the name of ***** is Adobe dead!?
Who's replaced them in the Design world?
Corel? ***** no.
Open-Source Software? HA. - Braxo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13Photoshop CS2 doesn't show the product's full serial number when you go to the 'About Photoshop CS2' dialog in the menu's. It's missing 4 of the numbers.
- TheCod, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13You're right...Adobe is dead. What kind of company can charge hundreds of dollars for their software and have people still buy it at every new release. Obviously a dead one. I guess since Adobe is dead I will have to resort back to editing my images with notepad.
/Sarcasm - cdharrison, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Why don't you post a credit card number while you're at it?
- TheCod, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11The other ones were announcing the release of the beta today. This is saying that you can actually download it now with a link to the page. Look at what he actually posted before you flame it.
- CoffeeandTV, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10Hoo-hah!
Definitely an improvement over CS2 already. I just hope the *free version* (wink wink) appears quickly after final release. - thewebguy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10must be an error, or maybe you just can't read:
mportant: A licensed copy of Photoshop CS2, Creative Suite 2, Production Studio, Adobe Web Bundle, or Adobe Video Bundle is required to use this technology beyond a two-day trial period. After installation you will be prompted to enter a CS3 beta serial number for Photoshop. To obtain a beta serial number, visit www.adobe.com/go/photoshopcs3beta_serialnumber and enter your CS2 serial number. Although the beta is available only in English, all language versions of Photoshop and the products mentioned above qualify to participate. - deanau, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9http://www.little-gamers.com/comics/00001500.jpg
- hotmeteor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Ya, that program is called Xslimmer and it works pretty well.
- stukdog, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I'm in the same position. I'm glad to hear it's not just me.
- griz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Anxious to try the new Filter Adjustment Layers.
- kd5ftn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7How to bypass Serial/Activation on Macs:
From JP65 over on MSJ: http://www.macserialjunkie.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=106235
(Registration required!)
1- Open /Adobe Photoshop CS3.app/Contents/MacOS/Adobe Photoshop CS3 with Resorcerer or HexEdit
2- Go to offset 0x30AE5EA and change 81ECDC00 to E9E20200 - evilllama, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I had the same problem until i re-read the directions and used my CS2 Suite number at www.adobe.com/go/photoshopcs3beta_serialnumber. It spit out a new one that worked.
- jgreene777, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7they usually do... mac is a staple for graphics, so it's not like they get no attention. games are the ones with tiered release...
- Beamerized, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7...and you've taken your time and it's been about 20 months when CS2 was first released.
- RyeBrye, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Nope... see my message above... I like how people often claim that aggressive copy protection only hurts pirates - not legit customers...
Well guess what? I'm a legit customer, and I'm being inconvenienced right now by anti-piracy efforts. - cdharrison, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8If you're looking for some screenshots of it on the PC side, check here: http://www.digg.com/design/Screenshots_of_NEW_Photoshop_CS3_Beta
- pouwerkerk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6For anyone who's interested, I've created a Flickr set showing briefly how Photoshop CS 3 Beta looks during installation and it's basic interface on a 1.5 GHz PowerBook G4 running OS X, 10.4.8.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/pieterouwerkerk/323119095/in/set-72157594421583730/ - jgreene777, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6the CS2 installer didn't touch the CS install I had, so I would imaging that you're safe. Just don't go clicking OK during installation without READING the prompt first. If it asks to overwrite or replace, tell it "hells naw"...
- Braxo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5How did you get your serial number? If you use the dialog from the program (usually by going to 'About Photoshop CS2' or similar), it does not display the full serial number. Actually, if you do type in the full serial number on adobe's site, it's longer than the text box they give you. It thwarts cheaters.
- gooru, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5For those of you who have legally registered Adobe products, your Adobe account has a list of all your serial numbers. Just go to login->Your Account->View Product Registrations.
- drobati, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8Your a dip-*****. Adobe is now one of the largest developers in Media. They control all development programs for most kinds of media.
Pictures, Videos, Flash. This makes adobe unstoppable not dead. - cdharrison, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Your gesture is nice, but this is how viruses are spread.
If you're going to download the beta, don't be retarded, get it direct from Adobe. - cybermort, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7hahaha you are hilarious. funniest thing i've heard all week thanks!!!
- iliketurtles2, on 11/20/2008, -0/+4Just installed the CS3 beta and it crashes immediately when I try to create a new document or open any existing fles. I know it's a beta, but you should at least be able to do the very basic functionality without any difficulty!
The crash reports the error signature as, photoshop.exe appver 10.0.0.0 ModName prntvpt.dll ModVer 6.0.5217.0 Offset: 0000cf32 - wfbnadador, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Something tells me the commenter just made the comment to raise a firestorm of replys. clearly adobe and macromedia control the industry, and I have found no nicer suite than dreamweaver and flash for development, whereas photoshop is the endall beall for designing sites. between the smart objects, and vector based tools in photoshop, (yes i mean photoshop, not illustrator) these tools are clearly the conrnerstone from conception to deployment.
now, since we've all responded like crazy to the guy, and burried him into oblivion, time to take a rest :) - kerplunk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Has anyone been able to get their legitmate serial number to work for this?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6I have a hard time installing trial software for only 30 days.
I dislike adding all those registry entries and installing files all over my machine that will certainly leave residual files and such when I uninstall it.
That being said... I do from time to time install a 30 day trial. Its got to be something that looks really, really good.
However, there is no software on planet earth I would install that upon installation would stop working in 48 hours. I don't care what it is. It isn't worth my time and the mess it will leave behind once uninstalled.
You gotta do better than that, Adobe... Sorry... just my two cents. - inkhead, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3$650 is nothing to spend if you ever made $600 off a website, or graphics you did. Think of all the times you've used photoshop to create artwork for sites, print or anything. THEN JUSTIFY the cost. Its very, very cheep. EDU students can get a discount. Photoshop CS2 is $5 on Purdue University Campus.
- TheCod, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5my sarcasm started at "You're right" and ended at "/sarcasm" which also includes the part about a dead company being able to continue making a large profit on its software.
- dawgma, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Curious... what, if any, program do you think could be called the standard web-development? Maybe there are a couple programs used in tandem?
- Remmy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3@dawgma:
I really like Aptana's implementation of the Eclipse interface for web design. Throw a few plugins in for the dev language of your choice and you have a very competent web development environment.
On a side note, Dreamweaver's development team is working with WaSP to ensure standards in the next version. Let's hope we see it targeted more for developers. Considering the price, it should. - RyeBrye, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I have a legitimate copy of Photoshop CS2 Web Bundle that my company dropped around $2 grand on, and it is registered under my Adobe ID - but when I go to get a Photoshop 3 Beta SN - it bitches at me claiming it's invalid.
Gee - thanks Adobe for rewarding me for not pirating it... Bastards. - unixer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4It is a universal binary
edit:
darn billlyboobs34 beat me to it - MBX1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3yea it's really faster and much smoother to work with on intel-mac. thank you adobe.
- notspecialist, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2the icon is horrific
- eplawless, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2they're alright. they're missing per-filter masking which IMO is really important.
