- gwinerreniwg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Been using S3 backup ( http://www.maluke.com/s3man/ ) for a few weeks now, and I have been quite impressed. The software is continually being updated, and works quite well, despite some minor quibbles. Of all the solutions I've tried, this one seems to be the more reliable. Highly recommended.
- Gregd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Another one that he doesn't mention is a FF extension called S3Fox Organizer for Amazon and can be found here: http://www.rjonna.com/ext/s3fox.php
I haven't used it though.... - FearNLoathing, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Here is the original comparison between building a backup server and using S3, by the same author: http://digg.com/hardware/Home_backup_server_vs_Amazon_S3
- xice, on 07/06/2008, -0/+1i've also done something similar, which takes both file data and sql data. suits CPanel / WHM sites better too.

- Linh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1jungle disk seems exactly what I want... has anyone used it extensively? especially on the mac. I'm quickly looking it up and it seems that it chokes on larger files

- Gregd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I've just tried S3 Backup and for what it's worth, I can't cancel a backup in progress. I actually have to kill the thread in XP. This anomaly alone keeps me from using it.
I tried to install the aforementioned S3Fox Organizer, and I can't get it to install on FF 1.5.0.7. It tells me it's an invalid installer package. - lobsterLobby, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Gregd, beta 5 (released just now) fixes that.
- ChanKaiShi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2For WIndows world there is www.mozy.com and it's free unlike Amazon in case somebody did not discover that wonderfull program.
- boyspond, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0here is a walk-thru on using s3sync

(That's not a joke, mozy guys do spam you based on your data. And you agreed to that when signing up, gotcha!)
