- Connor, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Just one AOL floppy lying around? I have at least a hundred that I used back before we had CD burners.
- mdarby, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Eternel September may finally be over.
- KdoggMDF, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Well, it has finally come. I knew that something like this would happen sooner or later. Looks like people are finally realising that 1) If you have dialup, get something like NetZero, which offers much of the same services for 10 bucks. OR switch to at little DSL for 14.95 or cable for around 20 with your cable tv. It would be kind of nice to have all of the features of AOLs site for free, though... plus, AdBlock with Firefox would help to stop their ads they would implement. :-)
- smack13, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2"According to news reports, AOL will begin moving much of its content outside the "walled garden" and onto the Internet where anyone - AOL subscriber or not - can access it."
What do they have of interest? I do have an AIM account but I use Gaim in Linux to access it. - Jammerdelray, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2aol will still be offering subscriptions to it's service while also releasing alot of content through it's aol.com website which is now in beta...I'm really looking foward to it...I don't see them stopping the cd's in stores and stuff deal...but this is definatly good news for everyone who has been yearning for good broadband content.
- jmcsk8, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1hahah
- danielson, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I don't really want any of their content though... even for free.

- dinki, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1AOL Floppy? You're a newbie! I've got a Quantum Link 5.25" floppy! :P
- gunnmjk, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Does this include AOL concerts?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1My plans are finally showing some fruit.
/laughs maniacally while lightning flashes in the background - McZiggz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1heh, a couple years ago i took a few hundred AOL CDs and decorated my WHOLE dorm room :-D that was fun... until they wanted me to take it all down when i moved out.
Duct Tape + Wall + 9 months = sucky removal
:-) needless to say - a pretty fair amount of paint was lost during the CD removal process - jordan1, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Where the hell do you live that Cable Internet cost under $25? ***** costs over $50 in Portland Oregon
- ORBIT, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Wonder what this will do ultimatly for a standard IM client, and winamp.
- Smarterdanu, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1FINALLY!!!

- rebrad, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1How will I replenish my supply of drink coasters?
- stargirl, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I don't mind getting aol disc as long as they send them in a handy dandy reusable dvd case.
It's shocking they never realized that if a person hasn't signed up after getting a dozen cd's in a month they aren't going to. but still they would send more and more every month. imagine how much they could have saved by not whoring themselves out. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1The problem with AOL is they don't cater well to Mac Users!!!!!!
- JWally, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I hope they don't stop with those free CD's everywhere, they make excellent drink coasters!!
- some_guy22, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1hahaha yeah.....its all down hill from here for them, i remember when i had their service during the dial up days of mine, the connection was horrible, I would be checking out my favorite sites (wink wink)lol and then it was "goodbye" lol that ish sucked, im glad its over.
- ORBIT, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1jordan1, I live in Beaverton OR (the giant tumor south of portland) and I pay 45 for my comcast broadband (plus another 7.95 for limited basic)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1"AOL's vast holdings of news, sports, music and more"
LOL, that has to be the most ridiculous statement ever. I dont remember aol having any "vast holdings" of anything. They give aim away for free already, and news broadcasts are everywhere online for free already so what do they actually think they are going to offer that is so different?
I dont get this move that they are making anyway. What are their subscribers going to be paying for if they are giving the stuff away for free online? This has to be the most stupid move they've ever made...although RAISING their subscribtion fees to $24 a month when others were lowering their fees to $10 a month is right up there.
I guess the subscribers are finally coming to their senses. - smack13, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1rebrad "How will I replenish my supply of drink coasters?"
And cd/dvd cases! - cr4wley, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1deadaim for the win

We once found soo many AOL cds laying around that we were able to decorate most of a christmas tree with them. XD - bunzzz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1digg effect??
page is not available... - bigarlo609, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1who else saw this coming?

go me! - rootdown, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1¿is that what happened to adam and eve when they had to leave their garden?
- BugMeNot2, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I remember one time when I was at my cousin's house, I installed AOL to see some exclusive content on their site. I forgot what it was, though. Some sort of news. Then my cousin got mad at me for installing AOL on his computer.
