- smithco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Item 1 is only needed if you're not using Firefox 2. In Firefox 2, you can go to the options and select Google as your default aggregator. Then, when you click that little orange feed button in the address bar, you get the discovered feed added directly to your Google Reader or your Google Personalized Page.
I imagine this feature works well with the other readers listed in the options too. - cogen, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Dugg.
I'm nowhere near an avid RSS feed user, but found that getting feeds from craigslist as I'm searching for an apartment has been great. Starring the ones I'm interested in, tagging who to call/who to e-mail, etc. - JohnM5, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3You might like my Google Reader search userscript

It lets you search either the current blog or everything on google blogsearch. - stealthyninja, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Thanks, some of those tips should come in handy and agreed; while BlogLines served me well for quite some time, I got a little fed up with the spate of outages they seemed to be having for a while with fairly frequent server upgrades. RSS has been my new e-mail for quite some time and I get twitchy without it for any extended period. :-(

- yawaramin, on 12/28/2007, -0/+0Here's something I recently figured out about using Google Reader: in the list of feeds on the left, the feeds are arranged in the order in which you added them over time. I found that this isn't optimal because I read some feeds more often (these are less frequently updated) and let others kind of pile up into hundreds of items (these are more frequently updated feeds).
The optimal arrangement is to drag the `slower' feeds to the top and the `faster' feeds to the bottom. This way you can go through the handful of items which are in the slower feeds, then later come down (using the Space bar is the easiest way) to the dozens of items in the faster feeds, without having to jump around and clicking on different feeds. - pengas, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1jhonytail@gamil.com
- sunjayp, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0smoothly, can you send me an "orkut" invite, if possible?
- drthipp, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1keyboard shortcuts on the web. brilliant.
- uth7hoh, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0I prefer to subscribe within Reader, as you can easily add the feed to a 'folder'. Just wish you could rename as well.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1Why???
Thanks anyways, I've got gmail already.
Post those invitations here, maybe somebody needs them. - smoothly, on 10/12/2007, -12/+1bonlebon, you want me to send ya a gmail invite too?
