- j3ff86, on 11/29/2008, -1/+1171) Return the monitor. I've never been able to fix stuck pixels with the software from the article.
- purseonality, on 11/29/2008, -0/+97I just turn the monitor over and slap it like a ketchup bottle.
It doesn't work, but it feels satisfying. - xdigito, on 11/29/2008, -15/+111.
- blueRAP, on 11/29/2008, -1/+93IT MOVES WHEN I SCROLL!!

"Try not to put pressure anywhere else, as this may trigger the creation of more stuck pixels."
Yea...good luck putting pressure on one pixel at a time. - idc5, on 11/29/2008, -3/+88didn't even think you could fix these
- newman8r, on 11/29/2008, -1/+64you ***** retards. if you fix a dead pixel you get a goddamn zombie pixel, you'll be sorry.
- AlanFang, on 11/29/2008, -2/+64Nuke it from orbit, only way to be sure.
- inactive, on 11/29/2008, -0/+61I keep a 64-pack of crayons and color in the pixel as needed.
- coldkill3r, on 11/29/2008, -0/+54Hammer and nail.
- blueRAP, on 11/29/2008, -3/+50I poked your mom, but that made her stay.

- gbudavid, on 11/29/2008, -1/+36Pixel Dust?? It worked in Peter Pan...
- aywwts4, on 11/29/2008, -1/+35Stores are generally different than manufacturers.
If you call up sony and tell them you want to return or repair your laptop, because it has a few dead pixels, they will tell you to go suck a sock unless it surpasses their return limit.
If you take the same laptop, with receipt, back to walmart and tell the sales money that you mumble mumble want to return it, dead pixels mumble, mumble. They will go "mhummkay.... let me scan that" and throw it in the defective bin.
In the end that likely costs the manufacturer a lot more money than if they would have repaired it, but buying from brick and mortar does have that added protection to the consumer, that the retailer knows nothing about the product and will take back anything for pretty much any reason. - Chompy, on 11/30/2008, -1/+271. Go to Apple Store.
2. Bend Over. - chompapotamus, on 11/29/2008, -1/+26oh screw you

- purzzzell, on 11/29/2008, -9/+31What about running a high powered magnet over that portion of the screen?
(not responsible for outcome) - Sylenus, on 11/29/2008, -0/+21nothing would happen, LCDs arn't like CRTs.
- drethedog, on 11/29/2008, -1/+21Thank you, I had a dead pixel in my left cornea and after staring at fix #2 for 7 hours it's good as new...
- SwitchBoardCo, on 11/29/2008, -1/+21if it's a dell, there's been a recent recall on vertical screen lines. check your model number and call dell for a replacement. mine took 3 days for a full screen replacement.
- Virgule, on 11/29/2008, -1/+21You need pixel lube. They rust over time that's why they stuck.
- Selkies, on 11/29/2008, -1/+20what about the policies in the US? Don't the stores hold on to the ISO standards a screen is allowed to have a dead pixel and a few dead subpixels on every million pixels?
- inactive, on 11/29/2008, -0/+19Hang a picture over it! BRILLIANT!
- majortom1981, on 11/29/2008, -1/+19This is not 5 ways its one way with 5 diff programs to do it. The title is wrong.
The way I have cleared a stuck pixel was to push in on the pixel without damaging the screen. - ElAmo, on 11/29/2008, -2/+19Two dead pixels?

- davewelsh79, on 11/29/2008, -1/+13I tried to rub that off my screen. I thought it was dust though.
- aywwts4, on 11/30/2008, -0/+11No, the standard doesn't exist. It is determined by every company individually and depends on the type and size of monitor and can range from 0 to the double digits.
For a Nintendo product it is zero. For newegg, it is 8. - zakatov, on 11/29/2008, -0/+10What app can possibly be drawing a single pixel on screen? I'm not being sarcastic, I'm curious.
- dmcbride6, on 11/29/2008, -0/+10Dead pixels didn't bother me in the least. That is, until I realized I had one - then it bugged the ***** out of me.
- heavyd14, on 11/29/2008, -0/+9Isn't a TFT screen a kind of an LCD screen?
- v1c1ous, on 11/29/2008, -1/+10thats nice, but i got a big ass red (sometimes light blue/green/purple) vertical line on my screen. how do i FIX THAT?
- Dweller99, on 11/29/2008, -1/+10I have had luck massaging the bad pixel with a pencil eraser. No scratches, and more localized pressure than a washcloth can provide.
