- CTRaiderThe1st, on 10/16/2008, -3/+34Dugg for putting it all on one page.
- inactive, on 10/15/2008, -3/+22that is one hell of a great list!
- mark076h, on 10/16/2008, -0/+14Dropbox FTW!
- Playgear, on 10/16/2008, -1/+10I'm happy I got my Digg User unlimited lifetime account on FileDropper =)
- ElBeh, on 10/16/2008, -1/+8Looks like they got a typo there - Filedropper hosts up to 5 gigs, not 50 lol.
- sungoddess808, on 10/16/2008, -1/+8It's been my experience that MegaUpload and RapidShare have extremely slow upload times. Compared to those two, FileDropper beats them hand down. Totally awesome site! =)
- GalacticRerun, on 10/16/2008, -0/+6The fact that it says 'con's and pro's' really bothers me.
- fatbas202, on 10/16/2008, -0/+5I opened an ADrive account about 6 months ago. I thought, "50 GB! WOW!". Yeah, not so much. It turns out that you can upload a 45 GB TrueCrypt volume that is "RARed" and split in to 1.95 GB chunks then you can upload without a problem. It also turns out that you can upload it at an unthrottled speed. Unfortunately they throttle downloads to what I recall was about 100KB/s and their server constantly resets the connection so you can never actually get the files that you uploaded. Also, they have gone to great lengths to keep you from using a download manager that can actually handle that sort of thing.
ADrive sucks. Don't use it. It is a waste of time. - mahadiga, on 10/16/2008, -0/+4http://www.transferbigfiles.com/
- inactive, on 10/16/2008, -0/+3Rapidshare is the best!
It's totally worth getting the premium for. I've been a premium user for 2 years now. - yessuz, on 10/16/2008, -1/+4and where's sendspace?
- jupaneanu, on 10/16/2008, -3/+5I already have great hosting...but it's not free so...never-mind
- diggdatt, on 10/17/2008, -0/+2Instead of giving me 28 I have to try out, just tell me the top 2 dammit. I'm tired of these lists.
- annjay, on 10/16/2008, -3/+5One of the great and useful list on digg...
- parkerjason, on 10/16/2008, -1/+3One Hell of a list.. Good Job..Thanks
- Otto, on 10/16/2008, -0/+2They don't mention mydisk.se, which has a notable feature that most of those others don't. It's WebDAV compatible.
Normally, this is rather useless, but combined with the Weave plugin for Firefox, it's extremely useful, as you can actually use Weave to sync your Firefox's across machines easily, and keep your data on your own mydisk.se shared space. - fatlip, on 10/16/2008, -0/+2thats a good one.. they dont advertise though. the company i work for uses OnTime (one of their ticket managing/tracking programs), the only way i found out about transferbigfiles was through the email news letter. good stuff though.
- dick122, on 10/16/2008, -0/+2Every time I see a list like this, I skip the article and go straight to the comments. Generally speaking, I find whatever I need within the first dozen posts. That's not a slam at the articles; I'm a sucker for every "25 top free blah blah blah" but I almost always find myself adding to my bookmarks more from recommendations within the community than a sole outside source.
- nxxm, on 10/16/2008, -0/+2website? thats oldstuff... take a look at wuala instead. its a much more stable and reliable method to exchange bulk data, files and streaming stuff.....
there are lots of competitors to web-filehosters.
http://wua.la/en/learn/why - Zaphin, on 10/16/2008, -0/+1I've never successfully been able to upload a large file to filedropper, the server would just crap out after the upload bar makes it look like it had just sent it way too fast and has just a little more to go. Anyone else have this problem, or figure out how to sent 100mb files or larger?
- randylm, on 10/16/2008, -2/+3poster is an apostrophe whore
- findhostcoupons, on 03/15/2009, -0/+1Quite good suggestions, man! :)
- inactive, on 10/16/2008, -1/+2very very useful, one stop shop!
- inactive, on 10/16/2008, -0/+1Hate the player, not the game, dawg.
- varunb007, on 10/16/2008, -0/+1does anyone know which one(s) work well with windows mobile devices? would be nice if one of these services actually made an application to upload/download files on mobile devices.
- sq2shooter, on 10/16/2008, -0/+1Love my free 250gb Filedropper account but there seems to be no way to add folders. So I end up with an endless list of files. Makes it almost impossible to find anything.
- chikuten, on 10/16/2008, -0/+1i was hoping for a slideshow
- inactive, on 10/16/2008, -2/+3WTF Rapidshare ?!???
- danniboi33, on 10/16/2008, -1/+2This is a great list. Thanks for the heads up.
- lamer0, on 10/16/2008, -0/+1http://8vents.com/ works well here, no registration is a bonus! Registrations are such crap.
- ACrazyGerman, on 10/16/2008, -0/+1If you use these sites often to download things you should use JDownloader to get your files, I use it to queue up multiple rapidshare and megaupload downloads with out having to do any thing. http://jdownloader.org/download.php
- bonjourmr, on 10/16/2008, -0/+1RIP Omnidrive
- dixhuit, on 10/16/2008, -0/+1Yes. +1 indeed.
- dixhuit, on 10/16/2008, -1/+2Squiffty Pops - it's the bomb.
- inactive, on 10/16/2008, -0/+1and MU has a 50g limit for free users and 250g for premium
- juliohm, on 10/16/2008, -1/+2dropbox (www.getdropbox.com)
my personal winner - Zoshchenko, on 10/16/2008, -0/+1I've been trying out SkyDrive, which is a Microsoft product. It's pretty good and give you 5GB of storage. The biggest drawback is that you can't upload a folder - and this from a company that makes a folder-based operating system! You have to upload each file individually into a folder that you create separately. This makes its use as a backup service very limited.
- GalacticRerun, on 10/16/2008, -0/+1No, I never studied English, but I am a graphic designer who takes the time to make everything I produce is correct so incorrect stuff really annoys me. Especially in signage and whatnot.
- bitterbug, on 10/16/2008, -0/+1Thanks! This list is awesome. I work for a free web hosting site ( cwahi.net ) and we get a lot of users that just treat the accounts as dump sites. Now we can can offer dumpers alternatives that can at least offer some additional security on their files.
At least until we start allowing dumpers :P - aserer511, on 10/16/2008, -0/+1sick! Just signed up for adrive
- opensourcer, on 10/16/2008, -0/+1I was looking for a good and free file storage online...I came in touch with mediafire and I haven't looked around since. It's a good list but I don't think I'll change my mind.
- shareweb2, on 03/12/2009, -0/+0I already have great hosting...but it's not free so...never-mind. For affordable hosting, please refer this link: http://www.hostdomainzone.com
- inactive, on 10/16/2008, -2/+2You can't stop people when they want to share something. ;)
- alaersz, on 01/08/2009, -0/+0There are a lot of free space information.my friend!
