- PicklePower, on 10/12/2007, -1/+41Okay, total blogspam. He's just linking to all of Microsoft's office templates. Just go to office.microsoft.com and get your templates right from there. He's not doing anything.
- kcbnac, on 10/12/2007, -1/+23http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/
Blog post just links to the different categories on Microsoft's templates site.
Personally, I prefer OpenOffice. No vendor lock-in ftw! - soogy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17Always remember one thing. Do not use templates for professional work, such as resumes.
Make your own personal template, it's a lot better, and you won't risk your prospective employer seeing the same template twice.
By the way, this site is useless. All it does is provide links to Microsoft's Office Online website, which anyone can already access. Spam is nice. - ClassicJBC, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10While I agree this is a definitive case of blogspam, I guess I'm just starting to get annoyed at how up-in-arms people get about it. It's like the annoying people who say "Dupe" after every story and link to another version of the same story.
The guy realizes people aren't using a good tool. He blogs about the tool. He links to his blog. Big deal! He did you a service by submitting the story. Who cares if he links to his blog that's not going to get any ad clicks anyway?
Personally, I like a thin editorial layer sometimes. It saves me the trouble of searching through corporate sites trying to find the few shreds of content I actually want. - DalekoProvidek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Blog-spew.
Gotta love the blog handle though: "dumblittleman" - appropriate. - customgamer, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11ok, ready everybody.
this is the part where somebody says that openoffice is better than MS Office(for one reason or another), and people will go back and forth at each other, but eventually nothing happens - mhii, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Spam. The page links just lead back to Microsoft's web page. Trying to build page views are we?
- cakestick, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8I'm just glad this dumb little man pointed the templates out, because I wouldn't have gone looking for them.
- IHaveIssues, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Marked as Spam.
- Kazbaeden, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Latex, while nice, is sooooo time consuming. My prof requires we write up our homework solutions in latex, and that alone can take hours.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6how does a digg on bloagspam get 230+ hits? Does a Bury count as a +ive hit?
- gometro33, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Nothing for my TPS reports?
- utcursch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4You can use most of those templates with OpenOffice. I prefer LaTeX to word-processors, XML files to spreadsheets, and S5 to Impress/Powerpoint. But there are times, when you need to use an office suite. Whenever I need some templates, I head straight to http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/, download the templates, and use them with OpenOffice.
BTW, the official Microsoft Office templates site is much more useful than this blog post. - bglav, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Let me sum it up: http://office.microsoft.com
- astrotrain, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3And I was hopping it would be Open Office templates...bloody lame!
- gonzo1043, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4How does this crap get 350+ diggs?
Note to self: Create blog then link to some major corporations free stuff, put on digg, make front page. - pegleg1971, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4What terrible linkjacking - and to microsoft.com?!?! How low!
- ubuntumatthew, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I'm using Linux...the site told me that my "operating system doesn't meet the requirements to download these templates." LOL. Well, I guess they're right about that one.
- prototypeangel, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Thanks for the templates, they're real nice. I wonder if they'll work for openoffice.
- Pyrogen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2What, exactly, are you talking about? Those are templates made freely available by Microsoft for derivative works.
- spacebar14, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Most of these work on OpenOffice too. Just open them in Firefox, and scroll down to "Download manually". Open the .cab, and voila. You've got a template file ;)

- bouche, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I'm all over the bury tool for this post. I hope to see it buried soon.
- cheekybastard, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Digg is getting gamed again. WTF is the redeeming value of that blog? OK so can someone blog about this great internet search tool, post to Digg, and get 800+ diggs for a link to Google? This video sums it all up. http://youtube.com/watch?v=0h0z6vkcY10
- PicklePower, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I believe anyone can send templates to Microsoft for this database as well.
- Frayed_Knot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'd prefer them all in one zip file to download.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Great link! Thanks
- Heraldin, on 04/07/2009, -0/+0Thanks for sharing!
- TemplateBlogger, on 02/10/2009, -0/+0Thanks, i love Office Templates, anyway I prefer create my own templates because it's look more professional.
http://www.templatesblogger.net - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0those are just free Microsoft contributions. From your MS word you just click on Office online templates and it takes you right there. I use it all the time, its saves me hours of work.
- greyfade, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1when i saw the title, i thought it said OPENOffice templates and i was like, "woo! resources i've been looking for!" and then i saw the links went to microsoft.com and i went, "WTF?"
now, i'm wondering why anyone even CARES, much less why over 1,000 people have already dugg this. - TimDigg, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4no powerpoint templates?.......bleh
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -7/+5For great documents, use LaTeX. It truly rocks
- berkes, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3"Free as in beer", but not at all "free as in freedom". They are copyrighted and as such you are not allowed to use them. MS has the right to prosecute you for using them.
http://kde-files.org/ has got real free stuff. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+0Thanks for all these templates!

- amandaw33, on 10/12/2007, -16/+1502 service error..

What is Digg?
The Digg Toolbar for Firefox lets you Digg, submit content, and keep track of Digg even when you're not on the Digg site. Download the official
