- atbnet, on 10/13/2007, -0/+28I am somewhat OCD and I always clear my spam folder when I log in. Even if it is just 1. :/
- nicolaihel, on 10/11/2007, -0/+27unless (yourname = John) reply_with "Yes, sir, I sent those reports two days ago. Petey has them."
- woodcoxcb, on 10/11/2007, -1/+20i do, actually.
- Zenithan, on 10/11/2007, -1/+13Do I HAVE to point out the irony in your misspelling of language?
...And while you are correct that "functionality" is unnecessary, it is left to popular usage (sigh) as to whether or not it is a word. - invader, on 10/11/2007, -4/+14http://google.com/search?q=define:Functionality
- scojerroc, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7Perhaps you should have utilized some other methodology to get your point across.

the Better Gmail extension allows you to block the spam # from showing... - sofaKing812, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Gmail related question:
Does anyone know a way to get hotmail forwarded to gmail without having to do use some sort of email management program (like Thunderbird or whatever program that people will say is way better than that one)?
Sorry, if this is a rube-like question; I am in the social sciences. - Jandels, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Gmail's spam counter (in bold no less) drove me insane. I wrote two emails to Google concerning this most annoying of features.
Then I found the Firefox extension: "Customize Google"
http://www.customizegoogle.com/
(Among many other things, it has to option to hide the spam counter.)
Now I just need a filter option to "mark as read". (Didn't bother writing to Google about this one...) - lifenstein, on 05/30/2009, -0/+2Putting an 'OR' between about a hundred emails is crazy. It would be much simpler if we could use a contact group in the 'from' address of the filter wizard (create a filter..)
And why the hell doesn't it have the email auto-suggest? - heavyd14, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2No live smart folders huh? I believe they are called labels.
- sofaKing812, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2@cougar618
The problem, as I understand it, is that hotmail does not allow POP forwarding. I was hoping there is some easy way around this that my half-assed google searches failed to find. C'est la vie. - Bara, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2I need this too, I hate having to check my Hotmail, especially considering my Xbox Live login and Hotmail login are different. Damned unified user structure!
- Bara, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1@cougar
I believe that's only to send emails AS a different email account, not to actually receive them... I could be wrong though. - slapthemonkey, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Sure a great help but tiresome to set up
- modeps, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I implemented a few of these suggestions.
- rfalloon, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1hotmail needs 'forward all'
- Wraith99, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Nice, Thanks for the info!!
- cougar618, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1You can add your hotmail account to gmail. Gmail will check it regularly. just go to settings in the top right and click accounts.

I think he means if a new message comes in regarding the NHL for example, he would like gmail to be able to create a label called NHL automatically and then label the email NHL. I feel that I would have 100+ labels within a week if I set that up though. - jazzychad, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Has anyone actually gotten the "email+label" format to work when they send themselves an email? I just keep getting an error...
- abhiroop, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1Gmails filter service is no doubt very useful but personally for me its a real headache to set up. I always get new and different e-mails but I still want them categorised (e.g. travel e-mails, jokes, etc and its very difficult to do that. I know its asking for too much, but it would be nice.
- msmayhew, on 10/11/2007, -5/+4or just thread hijack
- eean, on 10/11/2007, -9/+6Does this guy have OCD... who cares if the spam folder has a number by it?
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -4/+1Live smart folders? oohhh!! they sound creepy. What do they do nip at your butts?
- rfalloon, on 10/11/2007, -3/+0yup.. work geeks/friends are like OMG!!! u actually delete stuff!! im like yes.. facebook emails.. really worth keeping
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -4/+0I don't believe that forwarding your hotmail is related to Gmail.
- gmillerd, on 10/11/2007, -5/+1Nice cut and paste job on this article.
- davidleeroth, on 10/11/2007, -9/+4I hope for your sake that you are not a native speaker of English.
And for your progeny. - rnwen2750, on 10/11/2007, -12/+7Actually, I am a native speaker. I just happen to have done an advanced level study of the genesis of modern langauge and functionality is a word that is unnecessary and was first used by undereducated individuals who did not know the meaning of the word "function."
- bloodredxxx, on 10/11/2007, -6/+0wow. I've been using filters but these are extra helpful. Thanks! http://webfindr.com/
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -25/+0Ok I give up. If you want to be dugg up to the front page submit some ***** article on google or gmail.
- rnwen2750, on 10/11/2007, -34/+3functionality =/= a word
