- Bukowsky, on 10/11/2008, -0/+6Yahoo Site Explorer is one of my favorite tools on the internet.
- inactive, on 10/11/2008, -1/+5Wow, this list is useful - I didn't even know there were tools like this.
For your own websites, though... Google Analytics pwns. - PHLAK, on 10/12/2008, -0/+4http://www.google.com/analytics
- xpose, on 10/11/2008, -0/+4Holy *****. A useful techy article on the front page??! What year is this? Am I on the right site?
- nash2925, on 10/11/2008, -0/+3Good article, this will be definitely useful for the new webmasters and bloggers who are trying to popularize their sites and blogs. I feel the Yahoo explorer is good, you can also add Google analytics to it.
- jonespr, on 10/12/2008, -0/+3Cool thanks, eventhough I think google analytics is the best, I would like to try some of these alternatives, they look very interesting.
- inactive, on 10/11/2008, -0/+2I thought I ended up at archive.org too
- digguser1357, on 10/12/2008, -0/+1Statcounter.com also offers all the abilities talked about in this article.
Haven't used any of the tools mentioned. Gotta try them out! - DeathfireD, on 10/12/2008, -0/+1theultimatebathrooms.com for some reason links to digg XD
- mahadiga, on 10/12/2008, -0/+1http://www.sitereportcard.com
- doublefelix, on 10/11/2008, -1/+2MarketLeap dot com is a great resource for building reciprocal link relationships with other sites via their Link Popularity Tool. Type in yours or a competitors sites to see who's linking to them and which search engines are tracking those links.
- datagod, on 10/11/2008, -0/+1I don't like Google Analytics' reliance on Javascript. You just don't get to see all the bots out there hammering away at your site because bots/scrapers/harversters/etc. rarely run the javascript code. I prefer this one:
http://mytinystats.com/reports/dashboard.php?&TheD ... - adiyo011, on 10/11/2008, -0/+1Digg since once you see it posted everytime there's a new article, you know you're popular.
- metros2, on 10/12/2008, -0/+1Great tool, check this out:
http://www.cubestat.com/www.digg.com - DIGGANGEL, on 11/03/2008, -0/+1I am not really sure if Statbrain is that accurate. The result were very far higher than google analytics.
- Ntuition, on 10/12/2008, -0/+1This was great! very helpful. Thanks for sharing.
- findhostcoupons, on 03/22/2009, -0/+1I have never used such tools, but I know exactly they are very important both for webmasters and website owners! No doubts that website promotion process should be constantly monitored! These tools will play a key role here!
- metros2, on 10/13/2008, -0/+1well, every one know google analytics :_)
- dagooh, on 10/14/2008, -0/+1I mostly use Analytics and a few months ago I started using SheerSEO (http://www.sheerseo.com/) that last one is really useful for people like me who check the page rank of my websites every 5 minutes.
The current positions tab is pretty cool also. - Sourcio, on 10/24/2008, -0/+1Very good collection for me. I haven't heard about most of them.
I use http://semonics.com for web popularity tracking. - vili89, on 10/16/2008, -0/+1Very useful post
- glitto, on 10/21/2008, -0/+0Very nice article, really helpful.
Thank you very much for organizing that useful information. - inactive, on 10/12/2008, -0/+0yup missing google analytics but a good list nonetheless
- kellyjs, on 10/21/2008, -0/+0This is a great list. Very helpful. Thanks.
- Jeffler, on 10/11/2008, -2/+1Socialmeter barely works...no matter what site you put in, the digg/reddit kind of sites all come up as 0.
- inactive, on 10/11/2008, -3/+1Only outsourced tools? What if you don't like the idea of some Patriot Act front companies making themselves at home in your traffic logs?

What is Digg?
