http://sourceforge.net/softwaremap/trove_list.php?form_cat=419
Seriously dude, 104? There's a whole world out there. - jbabijah, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Listible is a good site overall to find a good list of things but is usually missing quite a bit, but is a definite good work in progress. Good Digg
- handeyman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1http://techtakeover.com/all.htm
- mistajon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Nice list ... however you MUST check out my site.

Nearly 600 links for techies :) - chicken101, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Please god not again. How many freeware lists do we need?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Nice list + Digg
- foxsynergy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Some good stuff up here. A lot I knew and could vouch for, and some that were new. Good Digg, despite all the whining above. :P
- 0x1B, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Doesn't even list putty or winscp. You can't live on windows without a remote shell somewhere. Lame...
- scottt106, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Listable has some potential. Of course it's not a complete list, but if you notice something missing, why not add it? Come back in a couple months and perhaps this could be a very nearly complete list.
- MadEnvoy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Please god not again. How many freeware lists do we need" - 6104 plus each and every file listed as "free" on nonags.com, so that's 1 list per every piece of software labled "free" or "open source"...
- Zovix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0107 resources now =P
- Volcane, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0nonags.com has more.
- Kruncher, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Firefox at 27? I think not! Tab browsing as changed the world (or at least my world, my small...small...world).
- DarthTurducken, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Holy Jebus I forgot about nonags.com - haven't been there in ages. Off I go.
- cprior, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Connect failed
Your request for http://www.listible.com/list/windows-opensource-and2For-freeware could not be fulfilled, because the connection to www.listible.com (72.232.16.83) could not be established. - mistajon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Oh and feel free to digg my site - It fell down the dig-hole and never got dugg! :/

- hitm4n, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The connection has timed out
The server at www.listible.com is taking too long to respond. - dvdgee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0how can anyone still think that a directory listing of 6000+ apps is more useful than somebody's effort to condense that list into apps that actually have some use and traction in the real world? well, i guess that's typical for digg.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The Digg effect strikes again. No digg.
- lordatlas, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Can the admins please change the link to the site to use Coral Cache instead so the load on the server can be reduced?
- Jugalator, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"how can anyone still think that a directory listing of 6000+ apps is more useful than somebody's effort to condense that list into apps that actually have some use and traction in the real world? well, i guess that's typical for digg."
Maybe try these neatly categorized and commented on winners of alt.comp.freeware readers instead. :)
Pricelessware Winners of 2006:
http://www.pricelesswarehome.org/2006/about2006PL.php - Jawker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0nice site.. useful for me but i noe most of the programs though..
- liquidedge, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Weak sauce.
Plus, anyone that asks me to Digg something gets no digg. - newzooreview, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Weak. Try VersionTracker.com They not only let you search for apps across categories (freeware, shareware, commercial) but they include user comments and ratings. Maybe a $10 shareware version is well worth it when you compare, who knows? More info is better. I don't write shareware or have an affiliation with VersionTracker, but it's a much better tool for this sort of thing than an arbitrary and static list of 104 freeware packages. I've run across such lists all over the internet, and after a year or so they are out of date and full of dead links.
- ardellin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wow windcloudmx, over the past 2 weeks you submitted 4 (!) stories, all to listable.com and all along the lines of "top 100 blah blah blah."
This may or may not be spam, but please stop submitting these god awful lists. - leonbev, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I still like my free software blog better:
http://tjfreesoftware.blogspot.com - Jams, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'm with portilaj on this one. Source forge and fresh-meat are among the first places I look if I need free or OS software.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Man, you linux nazis are really starting to tick me off. This is a good dig! Sod off.
- DJFMA, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I know I've seen this posted here before... if not more than once.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0one word... Sourceforge.com

http://www.digg.com/software/80_Open_Source_Apps_On_One_CD_-_Firefox,_Gaim_Included - v3xt0r, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0lame, simply lame. this whole site, is just lame. links like this... lame. comments above... lame.
What would Buck Nasty say?
'I hate you you and you!' - mbrindam, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Digg ***** already. Sounds like a good list for those of us who keep being called schmucks for still using windows. Digging without seeing so that I may truly dig later.
- usergentoo, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1if your goan use open source just switch to linux its alot easier
- mason.parker, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0Props to r3 for the "Lamest Comment Ever"
- r3zonance, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1Wow, a whole 104. That's amazing...not!
Linux/Mac OSX have way more.
But i suppose it is good to have a list of them for Windows because of the myriad of crapware/shareware diluting the water. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0No broglekut!!!!!!!!! THE PECK HAS AN ACORN!
