- batista86, on 12/26/2007, -0/+36I bet next game he refs, all the players are going to play nice.
- avisotin, on 12/26/2007, -4/+29Your comment would not exist. Nor would this one.
But do they exist anyway?
Whoa. - ruthless34, on 12/26/2007, -4/+23You just blew my mind
- inactive, on 12/26/2007, -2/+21I wonder what would of happened if the referee didn't have the gun......
- farplaner, on 12/26/2007, -1/+14screw pictures, I want video!
- aedenp, on 12/26/2007, -2/+11On the bright side, it gives me something new to talk about when people ask me what my home, Malaysia, has to offer...
- ineedaname, on 12/26/2007, -1/+10I need pictures! :)
- DangerCollie, on 12/26/2007, -2/+10Give him credit for being decisive.
- RedHerringHack, on 12/26/2007, -2/+8He was a cop. He was being mobbed. You don't know what was going down there. He might have saved his own and someone elses life. Your right to life ends when you attempt to take someone elses, and I would rather be in jail than dead.
- XenonBG, on 12/26/2007, -0/+5Perhaps, but it should happen in Serbia, too... here in minor leagues we have referees actually running away across the field from an angry mob... every once in a while some poor fellow gets caught and ends up beaten... :
- RedHerringHack, on 12/26/2007, -0/+5yeah, because THAT happens twice a day here in America. Right.
- legendxx, on 12/26/2007, -0/+5YEAH! That would be so awesome.. they would be like bahhahahghggagagagat!!! RAthatatatatattatattat! BOOM POW BAM!! CARNAGE!... you sick *****
- spyd3rweb, on 12/26/2007, -8/+13Mobbing someone meet the right to self defense.
- legendxx, on 12/26/2007, -0/+4RTFA, he was off duty
- TStanNY, on 12/26/2007, -1/+5screw video I want a time traveling portal!
- iticu, on 12/26/2007, -0/+4Yea, but saying all hell woulda of broken loose and someone coulda of died is pretty far away from an unfair fight.
- gregnorc, on 12/26/2007, -2/+6Keep in mind football (or soccer as we call it in America) gets much more heated, since instead of states playing each other, it's countries... if two countries have bad blood, things can get ugly and refs have been KILLED.
This was a very reasonable reaction. - rajulkabir, on 12/26/2007, -0/+3What the hell are you talking about? The game was between Kampung Bumiputera FC and Rejosari. Those are not countries, they are utterly insignificant, piddling little local teams in a southern state of Malaysia. I'd be surprised if there were 200 people at the game.
- BitterPeace, on 12/26/2007, -1/+4They're investigating why he had the gun with him during the match, but he had to run to his patrol car to get it. Kind of contradicting.
- legendxx, on 12/26/2007, -1/+4But hes a cop.. cops in America (especially big cities) almost always carry some kind of firearm while off duty.
- aptasi, on 12/26/2007, -0/+3So why did you say he was?
- cawpin, on 12/26/2007, -0/+2have, dude, have
- RedHerringHack, on 12/26/2007, -1/+3Yeah, didn't understand that.
- play150, on 12/26/2007, -0/+2He gets my vote XD
- Spuy767, on 12/26/2007, -0/+2*****, given how crazy some soccer mobs have acted in the past, I'm not sure it's an entirely bad idea for ALL soccer refs to be armed.
- LeeJunFan, on 12/26/2007, -1/+3Sure sounds like he did the right thing, I would have fired into the ground, but owell. No one got hurt as the results of a mob or the gunfire so it sounds like lives may have been saved.
- bliz, on 12/26/2007, -0/+2kinda anticlimactic.. i was half-expecting it to be about him taking the red card out with his right hand, flashing it to the player, then taking the gun out with his left hand and firing a warning shot..
- aptasi, on 12/26/2007, -1/+3Or Ron Paul, Apple, Microsoft, Google, or 2G1C.
- adarkmethod, on 12/26/2007, -0/+2good for him, he did the right thing
- mugwumpz, on 12/26/2007, -2/+4Like a little cheese with that whine?
- ondoi, on 12/26/2007, -2/+3wtf?
- legendxx, on 12/26/2007, -1/+2That was so funny, especially the part about gunning down a few teenagers over a soccer game. you sick *****.
- Fabozz, on 12/26/2007, -3/+4Finally, a way to make soccer interesting. MLS needs to hire this guy pronto.
- hammerpants, on 12/26/2007, -2/+3The beauty of digg comments...EVERY topic can somehow be brought around to being about Bush.
- RedHerringHack, on 12/26/2007, -2/+3From HISTORY. even 5 on 1 is unfair.
- oldhick, on 12/26/2007, -1/+2You obviously don't know much about soccer fans do you...
- Myonosken, on 12/26/2007, -1/+2Would should have been could. Apparently you've never heard of limits- they weren't going to kill the bloke. I doubt they would have even hit him.
- satan666, on 12/26/2007, -0/+1Sort of like the ref (played by Leslie Nielsen) on The Naked Gun. It is a hilarious scene. I can't do it justice here, it should be seen.
- RedHerringHack, on 12/26/2007, -0/+1Yes, they are.
- gyrfalcon, on 12/27/2007, -0/+1Five people being arrested doesn't mean that only 5 people were in the mob...
Please use your brain while reading. - Sbebo, on 12/30/2007, -0/+1People would have started to get tasered.
- inactive, on 01/22/2008, -0/+1Like the article. I want to share a web site with you. The author played soccer in college, and wrote for the Washington Post. His name is Gary and he does a great job of keeping visitors up to date on Soccer. http://www.SoccerTimes.com
- rodcohen77, on 12/31/2007, -0/+1lol
- hammerpants, on 12/26/2007, -2/+3dance party. it's the only logical conclusion.
- u2wedge, on 12/26/2007, -2/+3no harm, no foul.
- gyrfalcon, on 12/27/2007, -0/+1Ron Paul is at least about change; not bitching and whining about how what people don't like.
- rajulkabir, on 12/26/2007, -0/+1After he ran to the car and got it, then he had it with him at the match.
- tank8848, on 12/28/2007, -0/+1see?! the police should not have part-time jobs.
- freezerburn819, on 12/26/2007, -0/+1no, that was a foul.
- EPLorg, on 12/09/2008, -0/+0Yeah! The ref's have to do something to get respect these days! John 'ref botherer' Terry lookout!
