- aduric, on 03/14/2009, -12/+70damn right... 4 - 1 hahahahahah what a beating!
- joeboy70, on 03/14/2009, -2/+26this is quite bizarre. a preview of a game that's already taken place appears on the front page. then when you click on the link it's reaction to the game. oh well.
- dignews, on 03/14/2009, -2/+22You got thrashed mate, better luck next time.
- TCKC2C, on 03/14/2009, -0/+14Not untouchable, definitely, but even with todays result it's unlikely Liverpool (or Chelsea for that matter) will be able to overtake them by the end of the season. Liverpool have won the sprint but the league is a marathon.
- edeliz, on 03/14/2009, -0/+12OR you can leave it the way it is, screw the padding , inflate the ball, and IF you choose to play soccer then you can have scantily dressed women cheer for you in bed.
- nreynolds, on 03/14/2009, -0/+12yes! I always enjoy watching soccer, but since I live in America, I don't really have an attachment to any one team. I tried to follow a team from a city where my ancestors are from (Ireland) but I don't really have any way to watch their games so that fell out. But a few months ago I decided that I was going to arbitrarily support liverpool because it's a pretty funny sounding name and, because of me, they won. I'm the greatest.
- supernaut, on 03/14/2009, -7/+18what goes around comes around with comments such as rooney's …
big up to the Gunners with a 4-0 win! - arizonagroove, on 03/14/2009, -0/+10By being one of the most popular sports on the planet?
- dignews, on 03/14/2009, -1/+11Hows it not relevant, mate go to http://www.mininova.org/tor/2378377 download the game and watch it, then try and tell me that wasn't a good game, it was an amazing game full of action. Come on, football is an amazing sport, the best sport there is. Americans just need to watch it and see what its all about.
- viper001, on 03/14/2009, -3/+13Shocking scoreline, and an amazing brace by Arshavin for the Gooners. Great football this weekend!
- supertom, on 03/14/2009, -1/+11@ethelwulf2
"full of action" ?? is that why Americans need to stop after every play to decide what to do next? oh man, that must be so exciting to watch. You see, in football (soccerrr) the action really is non stop for 45 mins, with teams thinking of plays on the fly.
American Football full of action? Hah. - dsmx, on 03/14/2009, -1/+11Yeah soccer or how it's known in the rest of the world football is so irrelevant that every country in the world plays it.
- dignews, on 03/14/2009, -2/+11I think he proved it today, United 1 - 4 Liverpool.
- supertom, on 03/14/2009, -1/+10The amount of ignorant Americans making comments here is laughable. Sure guys, football (soccerrr) sucks to you, but to the rest of the world...no it does not.
- JakeyG14, on 03/14/2009, -0/+9@ ethelwulf2: No, I think you mean, full of stopping every 20 ***** seconds.
- ngregge, on 03/14/2009, -1/+10Plus, in American football you get to rest every two minutes, like a proper athlete.
- Danltn, on 03/14/2009, -0/+8By being the most popular sport on the planet.
There, I fixed that for you. - Po0py, on 03/14/2009, -0/+7I'm a Spurs fan and, of course, I know what rivalry is all about. I hate Arsenal as much as you must hate Spurs. All Rooney was talking about was what it means to be an Everton supporter when he was a kid. And of course being an Everton supporter means that he hates Liverpool. Does he wish any harm to any Liverpool players or a fans? Of course not. I think more should be said about the willingness of the press to stir ***** up the way they did. That kind of miss-representation of simple quotes can cause a lot of resentment and genuine hatred that could amount to people getting hurt for real - there are a lot of dumb football fans out there who might take those articles to heart. Very bad behaviour on the part of the press, imho.
- Po0py, on 03/14/2009, -0/+7They need to slip up at leat two or three times in the eight or so games that the have left. I can't see it happening but you never know. Man U are still in all competitions and the strain and the pressure could show right at the end; a draw and a loss could see Liverpool get right back in it. Liverpool, of course, cannot afford a single mistake from now on. They have to win every single game. Benitez can be full of ***** at times but he is a good manager and he must be congratulated for beating Man U twice this season. Not many teams can do that.
- Danltn, on 03/14/2009, -1/+8Fantastic game, referee was spot on for pretty much every decision. Great goals too, Dossena took his neatly and Aurelio's free kick left Van Der Sar stationary.
- Po0py, on 03/14/2009, -0/+7By being the most popular sport on the planet. By far.
- dsmx, on 03/14/2009, -5/+12yeah now Man U merely have a 4 point lead and a game in hand, instead of a 7 point lead with a game in hand.
- Cashmoney504, on 03/14/2009, -0/+6More than untouchable, they can be scored on by a margin of 3 goals.
- WaveyRavey, on 03/15/2009, -0/+6We get some news but most of the time we have to put up with the failing american economy, increasing obesity and what dress celebrities wore on the red carpet.
- mattbeetee, on 03/14/2009, -0/+5Why do you subscribe to the Soccer subsection then? If you don't care about receiving news about football, then simply unsubscribe in your preferences and get on with your life.
- supertom, on 03/14/2009, -0/+5Not one of, it IS the most popular sport on the planet. But unfortunately, I think 75% of all active diggers are American.
- TeflonFong, on 03/14/2009, -1/+6hopefully Arshavin can help the injured Gunners take the 4th spot from Aston Villa
- LupeFiasco, on 03/15/2009, -0/+5Your MOM is a pussy fart score!
- Phoetality, on 03/15/2009, -0/+4Yeah. Liverpool can beat any of the big teams, its just the small teams that give you bother, hmm, Middlesborough?
- AlexTommo, on 03/14/2009, -2/+6I was quite shocked by this result.
Pleased, of course. - AmericanGunner, on 03/14/2009, -3/+7The only untouchables were The Invincibles!
- ReluctantZer0, on 03/14/2009, -1/+5Hey thinkb4utype.... need I say more?
- djpray2k, on 03/15/2009, -0/+4I'm a big footy fan and I really enjoyed watching the match but even I have to say this isn't right for Digg, especialy as it is so damn late.
- Thoku, on 03/14/2009, -1/+5I'm still crying.. that was horrible. Make it go away!
We'll still do the qunituple, as theres only 9 games left and 7 points to be made up and given how badly Liverpool have done against small teams I think United will be fine. I'm really worried about them in the Champs League, but hopefully this match has knocked some sense into the players. - azizrulez, on 03/14/2009, -2/+6dont you dare take anything away from liverpool by saying Man United gifted them the game,Liverpool forced United to make those errors.
- eelwrolyat, on 03/14/2009, -1/+5Yes, this made my day. GO REDS!
- Xabity, on 03/14/2009, -0/+4Why?
Cant wait for the big 4 to be broken. Come on The Villians! - dandonia, on 03/14/2009, -0/+4I like where you are going with some of these changes.
Screw teh 100 yard crap and the chances to advance BS, padded uniforms wouldn't really help the speed of the game but scantily clad woman surrounding the pitch. Now thats something I can get behind, or in front either way.
The only change that needs making in FOOTBALL, is allowing the refs to use cameras. It just doesn't make sense not to. I know people don't understand this but when a ref sends someone off, they don't just miss 3 games which could be a lot of money to them when you factor in match bonuses and what not. But it could also cost them trophies and league titles which are worth millions. Not to mention the huge fine that you have to pay. Not using camera's to help ref's has caused a lot of trouble of the years and it is time for that to stop. - LupeFiasco, on 03/15/2009, -0/+3Liverpool's problem is depth. If Torres and/or Gerrard is not playing it is a completely different team.
- LupeFiasco, on 03/15/2009, -0/+3I am not a fan of games being decided on those factors either. That being said, the calls were dead on. Both penalties were penalties and the red card WAS a red card.
P.S YNWA@$!@#$!@$#!#@$!@$ - tigerpixel, on 03/15/2009, -0/+3The bookies had it at 50/1 to predict a 4-1 win for Liverpool.Happy days for who ever had that!
- EndUserX, on 03/14/2009, -1/+4Every team loses games. ManU just happened to pick the wrong game to have a bad day. And Liverpool have had a great week, beating Real Madrid as well.
But Manchester United are STILL a better team than Liverpool, in fact they are indisputably the finest football team on earth at the moment. Benitez knows that as well as anyone. - jazh, on 03/14/2009, -0/+3not after his season you won't...
- Cheddar79, on 03/15/2009, -0/+3Yeah so they got beat...same thing happened last season...they got beat and then they won both the league and the champion's league. I'll pay attention when Man U. are't potentially 7 points ahead of the other teams...
- inactive, on 03/14/2009, -4/+7wow that was unexpected
good win for liverpool - fastguyrules, on 03/14/2009, -6/+9You will never walk alone
- ThraxyWaxy, on 03/14/2009, -0/+3I expected it. I picked Liverpool to win on espn streak for the cash.
- gurkha, on 03/14/2009, -0/+2What a day in english premier leauge...............
Let's have some more.... - LupeFiasco, on 03/15/2009, -0/+2The man has point. We have never won the Premiership(it has only existed since 1992). Beating ManUre twice this season really makes the lost points on ties burn extra hard though. The season is not over yet but it will be a very steep uphill climb.
- thinkb4utype, on 03/15/2009, -0/+2Just ribbing you. There's nothing as important as sports to anyone with a clue, and watching it is almost as good as playing it, whatever the game.
