That depends. Is he the goalie? - bewareofthecow, on 11/15/2008, -0/+53"Maradona claims to have seen images of himself on porn sites linked to by Google."
Someone should tell him to stop searching for midget goat porn. - beelz, on 11/15/2008, -4/+39http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Diego+Maradon ...
- koolto, on 11/15/2008, -0/+31I'm living in Argentina right now, and I can tell you, the justice here is a complete joke.
- barfooz, on 11/15/2008, -2/+30http://ar.search.yahoo.com/search?p=Diego+Maradona ...
"As a result of a court order sought by private parties, we have been forced to temporarily remove some or all of the results relating to this search."
Disturbing. Wonder how long it takes for this to show up on other search portals. - street656, on 11/15/2008, -13/+35i dont think anyone is searching for him anyway
- Regulator980, on 11/15/2008, -0/+21Yes, he obviously doesn't understand the Streisand Effect but he will soon. Things like this always blow up in their faces.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Streisand_effect - moxley, on 11/15/2008, -4/+23No...***** this doucher
...Next question.
(besides, I ***** this guy up in FIFA 09 - and everyone knows that FIFA games require WAY more skill than really playing soccor...er,,I mean, futball).
I am tired of people who have celebrity status thinking that they can censor the net. The governments give the public enough trouble, the last thing we need is some self-important celebrity douche trying to insinuate that their rights outweigh the masses. If they don't like the "trappings of celebrity" then they can resign their position, give back all of the money and move to a ***** deserted island. - Thinkerofthings, on 11/15/2008, -4/+21Obviously this person doesn't understand, how things tend unfold, in situations such these. I suspect like recent Kayne West back lash on here, this chap is probably going to get tremendous amount of negative attention, that could have been avoided.
- jwolcott, on 11/15/2008, -3/+19I guess he doesn't want people seeing this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CpuejfzvOXg
- lenninct, on 11/15/2008, -2/+17F**k Maradona, freedom of speech should be worldwide
- inactive, on 11/15/2008, -2/+15I just want those pics of me and your mother gone.
- Mishimaster, on 11/15/2008, -3/+16He must be doing coke again.
- Spinney, on 11/15/2008, -1/+11He is actually widely considered to be one of the greatest footballers of all time. He also just got appointed to be the Argentina Manager. So he is still very much in the limelight.
- youannoyme, on 11/15/2008, -0/+10you forget America is in the vast minority when it comes to not caring about football/soccer...
- najdorf, on 11/15/2008, -0/+9"Google Argentina has appealed the court order, and says it will not filter any links until the appeal has been decided"
As usual Yahoo bends over, Google resists! - inactive, on 11/15/2008, -1/+10Yeah, no one cares about soccer. A lot of people care about futbol though.
- theeris, on 11/15/2008, -1/+10Maybe if Maradona didn't cheat in the world cup with his "hand of God" goal, do cocaine, or test positive for drugs in 1994 he wouldn't have a reason to join in this ludicrous lawsuit. Stop doing stupid stuff and you won't need to worry what Google or Yahoo results will turn up. If he is worried about fake links and websites, it's not Google's fault that someone makes up a fake website. Take that up with the ISP hosting it.
- Super6, on 11/15/2008, -1/+10***** Maradona. Google should just ban all Argentinians from their entire network for a month and let the government get inundated with pissed off citizens who can't read their mail. Alternatively, Google could redirect searches for Maradona to "douche bag"
- epstephen, on 11/15/2008, -1/+9Maradona just accepted the head coaching position for the Argentine national soccer team with shaky qualifications at best. He's not ready to take the heat that comes with this position, and he probably doesn't like all the (true) references to his drug abuse, obesity and marital problems out there for anyone to see. This has nothing to do with porn.
- spriggig, on 11/15/2008, -0/+8This is why it's important to push hard against any advancing regulation of this new media--be it government control or corporate control. Allowing celebrities to block search results opens the door to corporations doing the same. The internet is, first, a communications media and we cannot allow our governments and corporations undue control over it's content.
- inactive, on 11/15/2008, -1/+8C'mon...don't these idiots realize the fact when you a re a public person, you will get negative media? There is always good and bad things will happen in the "internets". If one day you don't close the curtains and a paparazzi catches ***** in your bathroom, well too bad that is what you get for being a famous soccer or public figure.
These people love the fame, when the media is not talking about them, then they go and do stupid things so they can get in the front pages again.
***** Maradona, either way.... - 955701, on 11/15/2008, -1/+8So does that include his official site?
www.diegomaradona.com/ingles/iindex.html - barbapapa78, on 11/15/2008, -0/+6so having sex with maradona would give us freedom of speech worldwide ? I am confused.
- surfacewound, on 11/15/2008, -0/+6What's with, all the unnecessary commas, Mr. Shatner?
- insickness, on 11/15/2008, -0/+5Great idea. There must be a way to get the Goatse picture to the top of a Mardona search. I'll host that *****.
- inactive, on 11/15/2008, -1/+6Not anymore: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=%22Diego+Mara ...
- nils, on 11/15/2008, -0/+4One word: Goatse.cx
- rushiku, on 11/15/2008, -0/+4I'm confused,
- What is the motivation for blocking searches on one's name?
- How in the f did this get through a court in favor of the plaintiff? (110 times, no less)
- How can someone stupid enough to say "Without the link in Google or Yahoo," [Leguizamon] adds, "nobody would even know these sites exist." possess a law degree? - poidh, on 11/15/2008, -0/+4Apparently.
- drgmdp, on 11/15/2008, -0/+4that "cheering" is pretty much an artwork itself..
- Ghoztt, on 11/15/2008, -0/+3Join the rest of the world. All criminals... just different labels.
- jellygraph, on 11/15/2008, -0/+3What these asshats don't realize is that if you try to screw with the internet, the internet screws you back. It is perhaps time that we give Martin Leguizamon the Jack Thompson treatment... this guy needs to get disbarred. Not for the sake of it, but because everything he is trying to do flies in the face of freedom of speech and freedom of information: two core principles of the internet. If this passes, we should make sure the information he is trying to block is twice as available as before, if not more.
And, as for Maradona... in a single instant I've lost all respect for that douche bag. Footballer players don't get to decide what information search engines are allowed to show. Idiot - Sep11insidejob, on 11/15/2008, -0/+3http://ar.search.yahoo.com/search;_ylt=A0oGkufBNh9 ...
- barbapapa78, on 11/15/2008, -0/+3Unless that is what they actually want to achieve.
- najdorf, on 11/15/2008, -0/+2"Google Argentina has appealed the court order, and says it will not filter any links until the appeal has been decided"

- weeFred, on 11/15/2008, -1/+3Maybe he is trying to make it impossible for people to find his "hand of god" incident.
- oneredeye, on 11/15/2008, -0/+2No results found for "Diego Maradona is a dick".
- yojiffyskippy, on 11/15/2008, -0/+2The search results should say
"As a result of a court order sought by private parties, we have been forced to temporarily remove some or all of the results relating to this search. Instead, you may be interested in this link;

http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20081112-arge ... - m0n0kr0m3, on 11/15/2008, -0/+2He must have great goal keeping skills to block all those searches ...... :P
- havokdu, on 11/15/2008, -1/+3Being Argentinian myself I feel embarrassed of my government and douchebags like Maradona.
We are one step next to becoming China if censorship continues this way... - jgzman, on 11/15/2008, -0/+2It is a complicated process, but it works. Trust me.
- barfooz, on 11/15/2008, -0/+1I wonder if Argentina blocks es.yahoo.com, mx.yahoo.com, etc. If you're a Spanish-speaking internet user you have a lot of portal choices. Those don't have the blockage.
- lenninct, on 11/20/2008, -0/+1give it a try and let me know how it works...
- djangoxl, on 11/15/2008, -1/+2No it should not happen.....BUT because it's Don Diego, it should be possible:-)
(I'm a great admirer of Diego Armando Maradona and can't see no evil in anything he does)
