- meekrob, on 01/24/2009, -15/+1512He should do a follow up article: Rape: Why You Should Always Lock Your Car Door.
"I can't tell you how many times I've gone to the mall or a grocery store parking lot and found someone left their car door open. It used to make me angry. It used to make me wonder what was wrong with people. I don't know if they just forget or just don't care, but either way they deserve to be messed with for their stupidity..." - nar1122, on 01/23/2009, -65/+1277Pretty harsh. "I had to do what I had to do" -- You don't HAVE to do any of this crap.
- Zervaman, on 01/24/2009, -10/+887Some were ok, dropping someone's classes though is ***** up.
- meropealcyone, on 01/24/2009, -33/+904You know more about computers than they do? Fine. Why do you think that gives you license to be a douchebag?
- tasteinmymouth, on 01/24/2009, -17/+873Or you could just be a nice guy and log them off.
- blankman, on 01/24/2009, -21/+579what a moron. Dropping that girls courses was terrible. This girl thinking she's signed up for next semester, isn't going to get any courses, miss the sign up deadline and lose an entire semester of school she's gonna need to make up, just because some computer nerd with too much time on his hands wanted to "teach her a lesson". Most schools websites automatically log you out when the browser is closed anyway so this is the schools fault.
The other stuff is pretty mundane, and the facebook thing was kind of funny.
It doesn't affect peoples lives as badly as this course thing might. If she doesn't get her courses, her whole college graduation date could be screwed up. Also, less than full time students usually have to get off their parents health insurance. So this guy may have made a huge mess for this girl for stupid nerd reasons. I hope someday he forgets to log out, or some power outage or fluke causes him to be logged in still and someone destroys his bank account or something to teach him a lesson. - rgsteele, on 01/24/2009, -15/+501What the hell? I didn't digg this article! Who's been on my account?
- ZellD, on 01/24/2009, -7/+480Dropping the person's courses was really quite mean.
- AlaskaLoneWolf, on 01/23/2009, -40/+447That was actually rather tame. There are soooo many other really really really bad things that can happen when you leave the door open for the random wolf.
- DVmaker, on 01/24/2009, -6/+370Dick of the Year.
- Fracture98, on 01/24/2009, -15/+352With rare exception; if you have to think "I wonder if I should do this", the answer is "no".
- inactive, on 01/24/2009, -6/+320If this guy EVER in his entire life forgets to log out of anything he should be struck by lightning.
- X9001, on 01/24/2009, -1/+309Yeah, sometimes I climb into the backseat with a bottle of chloroform just to teach them a lesson
- eaglered00, on 01/24/2009, -3/+309you could lose financial aid that way
- Jahian, on 01/24/2009, -8/+278To me this guy is a douche. There are a lot of situations where it is easy to forget to log off of your computer. For example, if you need to print off a paper for your class that starts in 5 minutes because your printer at home is broken or you don't have one, etc..
He might have really screwed some of these people too. I know at my university a lot of professors won't take attendance, so the girl he dropped from all of her classes might not have realized until after the last day to add classes and essentially wasted a semester. Charging money to someone's account is never acceptable either. We all bitch when the articles about overdraft fees show up on the front page but for all we know the author just caused some poor shmuck to go over his limit (especially since he's a college student, who are stereotypically poor).
Finally I doubt that these people really connect the dots from "I left myself logged in to a public computer" to "Something strange went on". More than likely in each case some customer service rep from the registrar's office, Amazon, etc. had to field a call from a very pissed off customer. - mochzr, on 01/24/2009, -19/+285this guy is a ***** douche. why the hell would anyone want to pay him to write this garbage?
- OrangeSoda31, on 01/24/2009, -17/+278he clearly stated that he needed to
- H4n90fThur5D4y5, on 01/24/2009, -9/+268This isn't as bad as dropping someone's course load, but once when I was in my dorm's computer lab I found that someone had forgotten to log out of their AIM account. So, I selected a random name off their buddy list and said "Hi..." they replied "Hey, what's up?" And I said "You don't know how long I've been working up the courage to tell you this, but... I love you."
Then logged off, snickering quietly to myself about the myriad potential for awkward conversation that would later ensue. - cersad, on 01/24/2009, -6/+249FTA:
"I delved a little deeper and found this guy also opted to save all his information, including his credit card and address. He needs to learn a lesson or two about the internet and security."
Yeah, except using someone's credit card number isn't "teaching someone a lesson." It's called "identity theft" and sometimes "fraud."
Although that's also the reason I think this is just some random rubbish the guy dreamed up and faked. People generally don't post proof of their own crimes on a high-traffic website. - Hraes, on 01/24/2009, -6/+231set a man on fire.
- ligyron, on 01/24/2009, -6/+211Yeah, I think he's a total jackasDISREGARD THAT I SUCK *****
- Zarokima, on 01/24/2009, -2/+205So you don't actually love me? :(
- ThinkIcouldburn, on 01/24/2009, -12/+206Pretty funny, but mighty douche of him. Dude should just be the good person next time and click log out for them. I sure hope he doesn't get his ass kicked by karma. Maybe his next post on collegehumor will be a list of all the guys he'd make out with.
- ditka354, on 01/24/2009, -4/+191That's why you always leave a note.
- hungryhermit, on 01/24/2009, -9/+190Religions of Africa, Women in Antiquity, and Gender and Society are not competitive classes to get into.
- panacean, on 01/24/2009, -7/+174P.S. I switched my major from Finance to Art History.
Now that's just messed up. - ldkronos, on 01/24/2009, -2/+168Exactly. An amazon order can be canceled or returned for a refund, or at worst you are out $25. The email and facebook think can be resolved with a followup message explaining the misunderstanding. But messing with someone's school is just dirty. You may be messing with them in ways that have consequences for years to come.
- eq2s, on 01/24/2009, -8/+162I apply bacon to the homepage and all favourites.
http://tinyurl.com/d4lwms - PterionFracture, on 01/24/2009, -6/+157. . . and he'll burn for a lifetime.
- Poweroft, on 01/24/2009, -4/+152He was a total dick about class registration. There is no fun in that.
- philthetechie, on 01/24/2009, -1/+146I remember something like this happening to me when I lived in a dorm. I had been to a LAN a few days before I moved in and forgot to un-share a folder that I had opened up at the lan (sharing is caring!). Anyways, someone on the network found out and copied like 1000 empty folders or text files (can't remember) with a title that said "unshare your folders."
I thought it was funny and a friendly reminder and would have thanked the person if I had known who it was. The author of this article on the other hand is a jerk. I would have nut punched him while he was sleeping. - ayeroxor, on 01/24/2009, -2/+145Maybe it was his estranged father. You rekindled their family. Kudos to you, good sir.
- ahawks, on 01/24/2009, -26/+156No screenshot, but I once used an iphone at the Apple store that was left logged in to facebook.
I changed his status to "I have HIV!" ... really wish I could have seen all the feedback on that one. - forceuser, on 01/24/2009, -3/+131Toilet Seats: Why They Should Always Be Left Down
"I can't tell you how many times I've gone to a friend's house and found their toilet seat open and exposed. It used to make me angry. It used to make me wonder what was wrong with people. I don't know if they just forget or just don't care, but either way they deserve to be messed with for their stupidity..." - omgwtflawl, on 01/24/2009, -4/+132No one seems to be mentioning the massive fraud charges that could be facing for doing this. Normally he wouldn't get caught, since he used a public workstation with someone else's login, but he posted that he himself did this on the internet.
- joshmoney, on 01/24/2009, -3/+121That was funnier than the whole article.
- ligyron, on 01/24/2009, -12/+123Yeah, really. What the *****.
"I can't tell you how many people leave their cars in the parking lot unlocked. I ***** in one guy's car. I removed the oil filter in another. I had sex in the back seat of another car with a hooker who was on her period and blew my load over everything. That should teach them."
Buried for nerd having too much time on his hands and severe mental issues. - Supernova36, on 01/24/2009, -6/+114I send an email to their own account if i find one logged in.
- gforce051, on 01/24/2009, -18/+125I posted this in my comment, however it is far down the page and I want to make sure more people see it.
------------
Most of that was stupid, but dropping that girl's classes is WAY out of line. As some above comments have said this could ruin her chances for financial aid, she could miss an entire semester not realizing she is no longer registered for class, and so on. Messing with someones Facebook is childish and immature, but rather harmless.. Possibly ***** up some girl's future is not.
This ***** is about to get butt ***** by karma, and we need to help it happen.

- geoboy, on 01/24/2009, -2/+105The worst thing I've ever done was when someone was still logged into their Gmail account, I went into the spam folder, did a select all, and hit the "not spam" button.
That'll learn 'em. - ijaho, on 01/24/2009, -11/+110I think if people leave their doors unlocked, we should be able to go mess up all their stuff, and just take what we like. idiots
- cl2yp71c, on 01/24/2009, -6/+104And I'm pretty sure some of that is illegal.
Identity theft, impersonation...cmon. - merdiesel, on 01/24/2009, -8/+95Dropping that girls classes was wrong. This guys a a real *****.
- hahahafr, on 01/24/2009, -29/+114He has to.
- drybamboo, on 01/24/2009, -1/+82Course image was definitely fake.
http://img238.imageshack.us/img238/9629/duhox3.png <--brightness lowered to show crappy edit. - JohnatMI, on 01/24/2009, -0/+79I agree with nar1122. You don't need to do this. I once used a school computer and forgot to sign out of my gmail account. Later on that day, I had an e-mail that said, "don't forget to log out when you use the school computer man." I think that's sufficient.
- goeric, on 01/24/2009, -1/+80I've had a similar experience. I got to my lab for one of my classes and whoever was there before me left her email open.
One particular subject stood out: "Revised resume from daddy" - I had to read the email.
---------------------
Madeleine:
I have attached the final resume file you should use. It has the correct
file name; what would "2009 Resume" mean to anyone?
These are the changes I made:
** Expanded/focused the text for your GOAL.
** Gave you a 3.2 GPA. I really doubt anyone will check given you're likely
not to be paid.
** Very minor formatting change for your Sorority info.
GOOD LUCK. SOUND INTELLIGENT. LESS IS MORE.
Love,
Daddy

LOL my favorite part is where he says "SOUND INTELLIGENT". Wow. - wolfeater2, on 01/24/2009, -0/+75You *****.
Dont put code up and expect me not to try it. - waterboy1628, on 01/24/2009, -1/+76I thought that was you ;-)
