- the_d, on 01/23/2008, -2/+5I don't get what this is proof of, cx.
This won't work on Diebold machines, and I'm pretty sure they're not going to be using your java program any time soon.
All it proves is that you can write a simple java program. Sorry if it seems like I'm bashing you, but I don't get what you were trying to do with this. - Thisiscjfool, on 01/24/2008, -1/+4Or its the fact that you are in fact a dumbass who has nothing worthwhile to say at all. All of your comments are negative and cynical. Have fun being mentioned as a troll on this article!

Go down a little in that article and read about a troll. Then the author links to your profile. Have fun crying. Then you can go back out and hate everyone because you are unhappy with yourself. - the_d, on 01/24/2008, -0/+2Um, I didn't even mention Ron Paul... This has nothing to do with him.
I made that comment because the java program that you wrote has absolutely nothing in common with the Diebold software. You proved nothing with that little app.
You would have done better to just write an article about it, instead of including irrelevant code.
And if I want to say something about Ron Paul, I'll just come out with it... I don't need to insult him in such an abstract way. Example:
Ron Paul is a douche-bag fundie conspiracy theorist, and a large portion of his followers are nutty denialists who (among other things) don't believe in evolution, or deny the Holocaust, or are 9/11 "truthers."

He's saying that this might be one way that people have hacked the voting machines. God, he's not saying that ITS THE ONLY WAY THEY DO IT!!1111!!! he's just saying that it can be done. My god some people are ignorant *****.
- inactive, on 01/24/2008, -0/+2It doesn't prove anything.
- lineman, on 01/24/2008, -1/+2I told you why you illiterate clown. Try READING! (Which incidentally will make you more believable, actually reading something before you go cut-and-paste like all the other crap you rip off.) If you can master any advanced topic in 72 hours or whatever you claim, then maybe you can write a bash script in a few hours that will parse the contents of my previous comment into something you can comprehend.
Plus, there are people like that guy below who actually think you know what you are talking about. Stupidity must be pointed out and exposed for the benefit of those who may actually have a chance at doing something productive.
Finally, if that doesn't help, consult the cyberpunkopedia, unemployedopedia, movingtoseattleopedia, consultantopedia, engineerwithnomathabilitiesopedia, lugopedia, scripteropedia, coderopedia, graphicsdesigneropedia, toodumbernottomentionthenameofmynewemployerwhenibashtheminmyblogundermyrealnamesoigotfiredopedia, or whatever the hell else you are trying to or claiming to be by the time a few hours pass and you see this. Once there, look under the heading of "watching a freaking train wreck" and maybe that will clear things up. - donfrancisco, on 01/23/2008, -1/+2Way to go Cypherxero. I hope this gets a message out that someone checks out each voting terminal's code before official voting on november. uhm maybe we could play fire with fire and get ron paul in the office because people in this country are as dumb as a donkey to even realize what this man can do and stands for.
- lineman, on 01/24/2008, -1/+2Oh, I forgot to mention that "information wants to be free." But you knew that.
- CypherXero, on 01/23/2008, -1/+2The entire source code (written in Java) can be downloaded from my website:
http://www.codyrester.com/security/deusvoting.zip - donfrancisco, on 01/24/2008, -1/+1yea all cypherxero is saying oh no.. the other guys just can paint a picture
- Thisiscjfool, on 01/24/2008, -1/+1I'm really beginning to not like you. A lot.
- lineman, on 01/24/2008, -1/+1He can't paint one either. He just Photoshops it into gray scale and throws some pastels onto it.
- lineman, on 01/24/2008, -1/+1He can call it an IT degree but that doesn't make it so. There is a difference between concept and proof of concept.
- CypherXero, on 01/23/2008, -1/+1It proves that no computer election is accurate. Sure, you can put in checks and whatnot, but no one knows what goes on behind the scenes. Ways to flip votes on a Diebold: Stack Overflows (Heap, Buffer), Format String Vulnerabilities, SEH Overwriting, secret vote flipping algorithms in the source code (since it's proprietary), pointer hijacking, if it's using SQL, then SQL Injections, Javascript, then XSS, PHP, then remote PHP flaws, the Operating System, if Windows, then all the Windows vulns...
I could go on and on, but you get the picture. Since Diebold won't play nice, I'll prove it myself that electronic voting can never be trusted. The only reason you're saying any of this, BTW, is because I know you used to support Ron Paul, and now go out of your way to BASH HIM any chance you get. I included Ron Paul's name, but this is not a partisan issue, it affects everyone on the ballet. - lineman, on 01/24/2008, -2/+2I don't even have the words. But I'll try. So you are saying that because programs are written by people and/or can be edited and/or hacked that electronic voting is inherently insecure? If that's the case, that makes about as much sense as saying that because people can be deceived, all voting is inherently flawed.
Good luck getting any security jobs or consulting gigs with all this crap you keep putting online. I can't figure out if you have NPD, too much self-esteem, or what the hell is wrong with you. But for whatever reason, you don't get that people like the_d and others aren't "bashing" you; you really are sounding like a complete ass and you don't make any sense. And it's not in that you-must-be-too-advanced-for-the-rest-of-us way, either. It's not that people merely have a difference of opinion with you and just try to criticize you as a result. You REALLY ARE that ignorant.
The fact that you are totally oblivious to your own stupidity is truly stunning. Most people have a sense that there is something wrong with them when there is. As you read this, I'm sure you think it's just because I'm a fat stupid jerk who's jealous of you. But seriously, nobody on this freaking planet is jealous of any aspect of your life. You really need some help. Or maybe just to be studied in a clinical setting if that gets you off the streets before you really get dangerous.
That's why it's so hard for some of us to follow you on the Internet. It's all so colossally ridiculous that one would think you were actually some satirical genius just screwing with us, but you're not. You are more like your own self-destructive parody.
Oh, and Ron Paul isn't that bad on most issues. The problem is that 99% of his supporters give the other 1% a bad name. - bird603568, on 01/23/2008, -2/+2CX you are a ***** tool, How the hell did that take you 2 hours? This proves jack ***** also. Shut the ***** up and go move to Seattle like you said you were, where you are going to become the l22test of all hax0rs.
- CypherXero, on 01/24/2008, -2/+1Why don't you just stop reading my blog then, and stop keeping up with me? You've made me your personal little pet-peeve since 2004. Just walk away and forget me.
- donfrancisco, on 01/24/2008, -1/+0Dude get a life cypherxero is just doing a demonstration, its not like their systems are done in java.. plus that other part was an inside joke between me and him something that you did not realize because by the impression you made here and other comments you need to think outside the box before crap rains on you like now. I am not trying to hate on you I am just telling you the truth anyways have a good night
- CypherXero, on 01/24/2008, -3/+1Wow, you've lost it. I think they have clinics for this stuff.
- inactive, on 01/24/2008, -4/+2No, it is the fact that people think for themsleves rather than follow the herd like dumb worthless ***** like you do.
