- Wonderkind, on 10/12/2007, -8/+161... and go directly to jail. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200.00.
- LordSkywalker, on 10/12/2007, -5/+142Put this sticker on a shoe box wrapped in duct tape, leave it in a public place, and see what happens.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -7/+121lol boston
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -9/+82Put one of those on a bomb.
- cbgaloot, on 10/12/2007, -7/+65Somebody needs to put a few of these on some Boston police cars.
A family Energy Farm, biodiesel, ethanol and pork chops - Dithre, on 10/12/2007, -4/+61I'm sorry that's not a hair question.
- calebhawk, on 10/12/2007, -7/+60nice sticker they should make one that says "this is strictly a 70's hair sticker"
- RenaChan, on 10/12/2007, -6/+55Why was one of these on your car one day. http://www.iparklikeanidiot.com/
- mousy, on 10/12/2007, -15/+55This is bomb! NOT!
- kuchino, on 10/12/2007, -4/+44Boston police say...
"not a Bomb? That be terrorist talk..."
"Blow it!" - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+38He'd find the actual bomb before the Boston police ever could.
- simondotcalvin, on 10/12/2007, -3/+36Yeah! Damn us stupid Americans and our stupid sense of humor. Arrogant sons of bitches. We should be spending all of our time duct taping plastic to our windows and waiting for Georgie to change the terror alert to amber. Oh Christ! It's AMBER!
Seriously. You're a ***** moron. - oneeyedelf1, on 10/12/2007, -1/+33The thing is to put them on everything in site, and then mysteriously neglect to leave the sticker on a closed garbage container....
- Kickm3, on 10/12/2007, -1/+29No. I'm in France and I laugh about them too.
Now, go away, or I shall taunt them a second time. - nogami, on 10/12/2007, -1/+27I was just thinking, this could be a good method of secure data erasure. Before you needed to take your old harddrive and drill holes in it, or have it shredded / incinerated or something.
Now you could just leave the old HD on the sidewalk and put one of these stickers on it. The Boston Police Dept. would definitely blow it up for you. Voilà! Secure erasure!
N. - monkeycatDx, on 10/12/2007, -2/+26In other news, reports are coming in that the Boston City council just ordered the following...
A parking meter, a orange cone, a pay phone, an emergency box, a ATM Machine and some ***** INTELLIGENCE! - trogdoor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+22It's not that they just didn't know an adult swim reference, it's that they didn't know the difference between a bomb and a light bright, and even after all that they didn't know what a traffic counter was either!
http://www.boingboing.net/2007/02/28/boston_police_blow_u.html - mabhatter, on 10/12/2007, -0/+21they weren't "risking their lives" they were wasting taxpayer money and causing panic... kind of like yelling fire in a crowded theater. The "moonite" guys called the police to let them know what they planted as soon as the news broke... the police CONTINUED to call it a "terrorist" threat and make the public panic after the devices were identified and claimed. They also ignored 6 other cities that had them placed but didn't panic. And lastly, the moonites were placed for 2 weeks before anybody called them in!!!! Really alert PD you've got there.
One could argue that the Boston PD DELIBERATELY mislead the pubic and caused panic in order to cover up the fact that they completely missed a silly toy stunt. Somebody needed to go to jail for "crying wolf"! Hint: it would be a high up police cheif and reporters, not anybody associated with Moonites. - dansued, on 10/12/2007, -13/+33Agreed. I can't stand egregious destruction. Somebody put a sticker on my car once, it was totally destroyed. Good thing I had insurance.
- spatznick, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19Sadly, when paranoia is everywhere, terrorists have won!
- mhuggins, on 10/12/2007, -3/+22As soon as I saw this on Digg, I had a "why didn't I think of that?" moment...
1. CafePress
2. ???
3. Profit - mryokai, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17The best thing I've found about all this controversy was the following quote about Freedom of Expression about the Lite-Brite scare:
"Many have claimed the signs were “like saying ‘fire’ in a crowded theater.” Wrong. This was like taping a picture of a fire to the wall of a theater and someone freaked out and called the fire department." - scuzzman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14"What a witty satirical response to law enforcement risking their lives to protect Citizens."
Yea, those traffic counters are downright deadly. - sp1nm0nkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12Wow, the terrorists sure are getting crafty... looks like some kinda advanced cloaking device.
- ICSU, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13Are you suggesting that the sticker increases explosives' power or what?
- VaporBro, on 10/26/2007, -0/+12Risking their lives to protect citizens? You're an idiot. These cops are NOT protecting their citizens. They are actually doing to opposite with their current policies. I am VERY happy to note that my city's law enforcement has enough brains to know that Mooninites were NOT endangering our city. THAT is protecting the citizens...because when Boston's law enforcement was out "protecting" the citizens from a MARKETING campaign I am SURE that plenty criminal acts went on without any Cops actually protecting the citizens.
You are the ***** nut job...and you are the reason ***** like this keeps happening. Dumb ass.
/not sarcasm - orangemarmalade, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14if you were making and/or planting a bomb, would you want to draw attention?
- oskite, on 10/12/2007, -7/+18I sure as hell know I wouldn't use a phone with that on it.
- blaze03, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13Need more ways to insult BostonPD. I wonder if they're aware IRL that they're the laughingstock of the USA.
- dtfinch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11Someone will put the sticker on a backpack and leave it in front of a public building, and Boston will make headlines once again.
- Renton, on 10/12/2007, -4/+14Nobody gives a damn about some Chuck Norris ripoff (who wasn't even funny in the first place)
- Ahnteis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10You're far more likely to get killed by a car then by a bomb. But don't let that stop you from panicking.
- WaterDragon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Please block this damn spammer (mongo01)
(Just click the little icon to the right of the user name.) - okcomputer, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12state authorities knew that there were no bombs after the first one was taken down. the rest of it was an opportunity to do some training and get someone else to pay for it. in fact, the state made money off the whole thing.
- ZMerlin, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11Watch out for that ethanol. It can burn whole buildings, if someone is careless.
Luckily we have a fine fire department. - Gtitian, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11In this case it is a necessary satire of a horribly out of touch (dare I say dangerously negligent) police dept. and the founding fathers, who had a history of tearing things up old school and destroying the property of others themselves (Boston tea party, revolutionary war, that sort of thing) would approve. You sir, simply "don't get" America.
- shirtninjay, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Only if that suspicious guy that was blown up by the Boston Police was wearing one of those stickers..
RIP Suspicious Looking Man - enharmonix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7As much as I would to show my support for Boston police, I have to admit that going after traffic counters is getting just a *little* zealous...
- Niten, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10"if you were making and/or planting a bomb, would you want to draw attention?"
Well, if you wanted it to draw a crowd and provoke curiosity so you can be sure somebody's present when the thing goes off... yes. - jackyyll, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7How could we forget? It was on the front page yesterday...
- dtfinch, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7You missed the link in the description.
http://www.cafepress.com/bunniestudios.105349621 - spliffy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6i've been runnin fo the hillz since you was in diapaz son
- cien750hp, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7the stickers saying theyre not bombs make them suspicious again as possible bombs labled as not bombs.
then claiming that labling bombs as not bombs is a new trend in terrorism, they'll blow them all up.
and then us on digg get to make fun of them even more for it. - DexDoomsday, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7It seems to be a sticky situation in Bean town over sticker shock
- enharmonix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5All I'll say is that if I hire a babysitter who says to me, "Don't worry, I'm not a child molester," I'm going to find another babysitter.
- SnuKs, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8Stick it to the man!
- TimeIsTissue, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5They should post those stickers on people, too.
Anyone remember that guy from Boston being blown up for .. standing next to a pole? - Nogger, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6More like a picture of a candle.
- lowerlogic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5"If you use arabic numerals, the terrorists have already 1." :P
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5You're right! How was the Boston PD supposed to know that the traffic counters installed by the GOD DAMN CITY wern't bombs as well?
Don't be surprised if the PD starts destroying traffic cameras next, then speed trap cables, followed by those big electronic signs that tell you what your speed is. Are you from Boston? Do you realize that your entire city has become a laughingstock that has let the terrorists win several times now? -
