- Wailord, on 12/26/2007, -1/+23...dugg for the completely unrelated thumbnail.
- unluckier, on 12/26/2007, -3/+22The main ways to protect yourself against being infected with this:
Turn on automatic updates for Windows
Make sure QuickTime is up to date if you have it installed (7.3.1)
If you use IE, disable ActiveX in the Internet Zone
If you use Firefox, install NoScript
And of course, be smart about the links that you're clicking in the first place. - funkydude101, on 12/26/2007, -0/+13oooo a free codec to download?? AWESOME. installing.

- dondara, on 12/26/2007, -1/+9Spammers are your heros? You are completely ***** up or 10 years old. Please DIAF
- Phisolo, on 12/26/2007, -0/+7One year later and the storm is still going strong. Always staying just under the radar, and using email headlines sure to round up a few suckers. Every few months I run into a new batch of client computers who get tagged. I'm sure there are more clients who's computers have been hit, but their infections go unnoticed, so they have not called.
- diversionmary, on 12/26/2007, -2/+7Good luck with that.
- flonglonger, on 12/26/2007, -0/+5But it's everyone else who suffers since their computers start sending out spam.
- unluckier, on 12/26/2007, -0/+5It takes an unethical person that wants to make money. You do realize it's all about making money, right?

- lehmon, on 12/26/2007, -0/+3I agree .. until they call us (tech support).
- grumpyrain, on 12/26/2007, -0/+3Actually, most Windows users in corporate environments do exactly that. And anyone running Vista effectively does this too (unless they disable UAC).
- Lkr721993, on 12/26/2007, -0/+3is there a way to tell if you have it?

- noahhoward, on 12/26/2007, -1/+3Has anyone figured out what makes a person a big enough ***** to release ***** like this? Is it the kids who never got their turn playing Oregon Trail in elementary schools, now they're older and playing the "If I can't enjoy it, nobody can game"?
- paradexes, on 12/26/2007, -1/+2Hey cmon, be nice. At least the botnet makers were thoughtful enough to put holiday messages in the malware downloaded. That has to count for something right? (humorless morons need not reply)
- Chaos12, on 12/27/2007, -0/+1Perhaps the ability to make millions of dollars easily?
- antdude, on 12/26/2007, -0/+1More like keep your computer updated. Not just those. Don't forget Flash too.
- drastik21, on 12/27/2007, -0/+1Yeah, you're probably some punk kid. As an I.T. professional, dealing with these viruses/worms is a big waste of time.
