so SHUT IT DOWN THE HECK DOWN dear henry, SHUT IT DOWN - kevgig, on 10/12/2007, -8/+83Very cool URL hack! As a developer, of the many things I get paid to do, hacking URLs is always fun.
This is exactly why I do not have a myspace/social network account. A friend of mine got turned down for a job recently because of what they found on their mySpace.
There are 2 sides to life: Public and Private.
There is nothing private about the internet, period.
Just goes to show that if there are parts of your life that you do not want to share with the world, keep it to yourself. - theone3, on 10/12/2007, -16/+83Emo is a misspelling of emu that originated in the outback in Australia in the 1950s. It coloquially described 'people who buried their heads in the sand', i.e. moping teenagers.
It has been adopted to this new 'Goth' thing since. - theone3, on 10/12/2007, -6/+68"you dont know get out much then..i have like 2 emo kids out of the 80 friends i have."
I don't really see myspace as 'out' - cartwheels, on 10/12/2007, -3/+60Ooh! Ooh! Pick (b)!!!
- Tearabite, on 10/12/2007, -2/+48I think the cat is already out of the bag.
- khyberkitsune, on 10/12/2007, -4/+50@theone3
Emo is "The world sucks and I wanna die"
Goth is "The world sucks and I want YOU to die." - dig412, on 10/12/2007, -0/+44Now i can laugh my ass off at my emo brothers pictures. Genius. :P
- ifonly, on 10/12/2007, -2/+41Great, now all the pedo's can view underage profiles, yeah totally digg'n this, babe!
- distrbnce, on 10/12/2007, -0/+39Obviously. Didn't you read the article?
- JorgeGT, on 10/12/2007, -1/+39...and pr0n. say it with pride and confidence.
- catoutfit, on 10/12/2007, -2/+34the comments on the entry are so funny, unless they're trying to be ironic.
"OMG, this actually works! this is totally DUGG because Myspace SUKZ!" - DangerMouse9, on 10/12/2007, -4/+34I wish my lawn was emo so it would cut itself
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+30It has always suprized me at how bad myspace really is. I mean.. it really really REALLY sucks. The html, javascript, layout, etc... it's all such a BIG BIG mess. Ugly as hell, and so does the backend.. so it seems by this hack. Bad development on every front. Bah Bah Bah!
- cody50, on 10/12/2007, -0/+29733t == teet.
great jorb. - ifonly, on 10/12/2007, -7/+31So some slaggy teenage girl is suddenly a "hacker"? :S
- dj_sea2005, on 10/12/2007, -2/+23@ nsummy
ok.. ok... dont get all emo over it. - keesj, on 10/12/2007, -4/+25http://collect.myspace.com/user/viewPicture.cfm?friendID=INSERT_FRIEND_ID
- Teague, on 10/12/2007, -2/+22Uh, lots of people did figure this out, seeing as it has that whole "common sense" thing going for it.
- tophu, on 10/12/2007, -28/+47What the hell is EMO?
- Tearabite, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16both are working fine for me
- pronouncable, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15by the way, once you get to the person's picture index, just take the image url and replace the m with an l to view it.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -8/+23tom knows what a dick you are.
- jer2eydevil88, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16I have a tinfoil hat I would like to sell you, you can pay in gold bars so the government won't be able to trace it.
- xorian, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17Ownage. Myspace sucks ;)
- combatchuck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14yeah but it does something to my privates
- netburnr, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16Wonder how long that will last.
- maize, on 10/12/2007, -4/+18Just curious, is anyone rushing off to their myspace pages to do some 'deleting' as soon as they read this article?
- texastig, on 10/12/2007, -16/+30How can you view private pics?
- maize, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14Because you can.
After which you realize what you're doing is utterly retarded.
But then later you remember the page of your cute classmate and... - sillywampa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12If they can get rid of myspace, they can get rid of any site. I wouldn't want the U.S. govt. to have jurisdiction over something like that. The parents of these kids and the kids themselves are responsible for their own actions online, not myspace. Myspace has done what it can to try and protect profiles but if a kid lies about his or her age to get on, there's not much myspace can do about it.
- dj_sea2005, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11Probably forever, Myspace doesn't seem to be in a rush to fix the hundreds of errors it gets even with the main features of the website. never mind a small annoyance like this.
- combatchuck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11We keep deleting them.
- BenBenMan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11Gaha, private eh? A big LOL goes to this badly-coded monstrosity.
- suppazone, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10ok so who is going to make an firefox extension that automates this with a click at a button?
- Archangel621, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Go away.
- OBKenobi, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12Nice hack. It's too bad I don't want to read ANYTHING on MySpace.
- Xenif, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11Myspace needs to clean up their stuff as well. I'm sure I'm going to anger a 10th of the emo population when I say this but, with all the Web 2.0 goodness on the web, Myspace may be the leader, but is by far one of the worst off when it comes to cleanliness, efficiency, and the fact that every 3 pages you visit have some sort of maintenance error doesn't surprise me.
Digg up for finding it, exploiting it, but that's about it ;) - esuomynona, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Haha. Your brother wouldn't add you as a friend.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8@theone
Emo has NOTHING to do with "goth".
Goth has been around for decades and anyone over the age of about fifteen who considers themselves one or is labeled one typically has a great deal of disdain for the complacent little emo dorks.
Both are pretty goofy, but to label goths as emo is like labeling punks as hippies. - dfunct, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9I agree with that sentiment but they must be doing something right on the backend to be able to handle as many hits a day as they do ...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8GTFO
- theone3, on 10/12/2007, -8/+15and harry? (sorry)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7It appears fixed now.
- timelf123, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9Myspace isn't that bad if you have a cool profile. And by cool I don't mean like, eyerape me with hearts and colors... I mean like a div overlay like http://myspace.com/timelf
- virualtech, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Greasemonkey Script:
http://www.uploadtemple.com/view.php/1156696263.txt - dzhuo04, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6o noez, pedifiles will be able to see little kiddies myspaces again.... a sad day indeed
