"Opera Software, a world leader in Web browser technology, today announced that Nintendo's much anticipated new generation game console, Wii, will use the Opera browser.
Users of the Wii console will browse the Internet using their consoles. Navigating via the innovative new Wii Remote controller, users can visit Web sites in between gaming sessions.
"Nintendo is clearly visionary in leading the gaming industry into the new era in gaming, and a wonderful partner for Opera," says Jon von Tetzchner, CEO, Opera Software. "We are thrilled to expand our partnership with Nintendo, and work with them to deliver the best gaming experience on the Wii console and the Nintendo DS™."
"For our Wii console launch in 2006, we required a browser that was fast and secure with support for the latest standards including AJAX. Opera proved perfect for our purposes and is an exceptional addition to both the Nintendo DS and the Wii console," said Genyo Takeda, senior managing director and general manager, Integrated Research & Development Division, Nintendo Co., Ltd.
Opera and Nintendo announced their partnership to deliver the full Opera browser for the Nintendo DS on February 15, 2006. The Nintendo DS browser is scheduled for release in Japan this summer. Nintendo has not yet announced its global launch plans for this product." - Singular1ty, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I'm really curious to see how this pans out! (the riddle thing that is.)
- Jugalator, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4What, are you saying Opera ain't a web server!? :-)
Yes, poor comparison or whatever he was trying to tell. - skyfex, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2MultiTorg is the old name for Opera, near Puget Sound refers to Microsofts headquarters.. So the answer is the Opera for Windows page.
- armbar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@janit:
More of the latter than the former, in my experience. - ppsainity, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I too am stuck on Clue 4. Here is what I have got so far.
The only relevant info I got from the Clue 4 page was the quote "Mr Fibonacci tried searching for his blog 13 times from the start because he forgot his username on my.opera.com/." and the number "200618" from the sign my guestbook remark.
Using this info I have tried every combination of URL that the Opera Community uses to no avail. I even tried combinations of user names using Fibonacci's first name Leonardo and the numbers 144 and 233 from the Fibonacci number sequence. Here are a list of the URL forms I used:
my.opera.com/NAME
my.opera.com/NAME/blog/show.dml/BBBBBB
my.opera.com/NAME/archive/monthly/?month=YYYYMM
my.opera.com/NAME/archive/monthly/?day=YYYYMMDD
Where combinations of Fibonacci%u2019s username are substituted for NAME, the number 200618 is substituted for BBBBBB (blog number currently in 250XXXs), and YYYY MM DD for year month and day.
Got nowhere with that...so anybody else got something? - vuzman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2According to the discussion on http://operawatch.com/news/2006/05/nintendos-wii-to-include-the-opera-browser.html it seems the riddle has already been solved by someone...
- mcpaige, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The person who submitted this..indigo... thought it was hacked...they were not TRYING to be miss leading, seem seems like they just DIDN'T know all of what was going on.
- TestFar, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3its viral marketing Densetsu...
anyone remember the halo2 one? - Jugalator, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2^^ Heh, this is why viral marketing works.
- kKhan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Clue 4: Mr Fibonacci tried searching for his blog 13 times from the start because he forgot his username on my.opera.com/.
Fibonacci sequence starting from 1 going to 13 is 21 I believe. Anyone see a relevance to this number and my.opera.com or usernames? - melvin2001, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3by the way i found that under http://my.opera.com where it says
Spotlighted users
These are people wii think are cool
the "wii" is the link
also there is another one under http://www.opera.com/company/jobs/ - rizon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Anyone try looking on Ninento's forums for Clue #2?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Looking at that old-school Geocities page while listening to "Prodigy - One Love"...it's like a "Hackers" flashback :P
- LegendOfLink, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4I figured it out, when you go to all the clues, you copy and paste the text into Notepad. Then, you ROT13 it, and replace your C:NTLDR file with it, then reboot. The error message comes up is: NTLDR is Missing.
And if you're up on your Nintendo-ism, you'll know that the last three letters in NTLDR, "LDR", actually stands for Lode Runner, a game released in 1983, which is the same year the original NES was released in Japan. - janit, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Everything is "hacked" these days. I'm sure we'll soon get a "USA hacks Iraq" type of headline.
- mcpaige, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1http://my.opera.com/brianj/about/ this dude is from there...?
- dnthomps, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1In white text on the background of CLUE 3 you can read the following message:
Did you know taht pirates were always fitigng with other piratess somteimes? ITS TRU! They stoled golds from lots and lots and lots of peopel before they became extincst. Pirtes nvr win.
You can lurn more about pirates alllll over teh internets. Try searching for them and you mite find something new! :D :D :D This is my ship! (OMG I WISH!) This is my gold supply too (OMG, I WISH AGAIN!) - petantik, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I know what this is. it's like the Da Vinci Code. Someone is leaving clues so that we may find out about a massive cover up by Opera and Nintendo that will shake the very foundation of our lives and for which others would do anything to stop the secret from being revealed.
I wonder what's at the end of this trail of breadcrumbs? - mcpaige, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1whois http://g4noise.net/frog/ --> Albert Jerka & Andrzej Kostrzewa --> http://my.opera.com/andyas/about/ ?? just trying to see who set thses pages up.
- smedrick, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Maybe Mr. Fibonacci's (Leonardo) name has something to do with it.
