We really dont out right block a lot of sites with our proxy filter - we subscribe to N2H2 filtering services. On occasion, we do block things (mostly proxy sites) using our packetshaper (ah young padawan, thank you Packeteer!)
That being said, if kids would stop using school machines to surf myspace and other crap it wouldnt be an issue - We had 91 teacher complaints in the first month of school this year...several complanits from each teacher - and what did they want blocked? Myspace. Another 44 seperate incidents requestin nph-proxy.pl be blocked.
Its not the admins who want it blocked -if the system wasnt abused, it wouldnt be (For the most part...school dsitricts are required to make an effort to attempt to filter inappropriate content like porn) - trunkster, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2No school can block my phone with a usb connected to my laptop.

ROCKON!!!!LOL - Panthrowzay, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Ok Guys I got it the blocking is based on url addresses the fix (oh my god its fn simple) subdomains if the subdomain is blocked delete it and add a new one! its so simple if the site is expansive like mine xit.frih.net soon to be omnis.xit.frih.net It is in theory unblockable as long as the admin is paying attention to his or her site. search for a hoster with unlimited subdomains and cgi for a fast proxy or php for a slower but stronger PHP proxy, and if you have php Mysql add a CMS system for cover, becasuse the school system is looking at this thread (duh) Proxicate my brothers in arms! I don't know about other schools but, my school is set up that once a week theres a program that scans all the websites and cookies in the computers history looking for key words, like "proxy" "anonamous" (I know I can't spell)
also the schools are blocking websites that are getting alot of hits ex: myspace.com, and my school even block video.google.com and freeonlinegames.com. Basterds.
thats why I'm about to tell you what I've figured out
if you goto My Computer > Local Disk (C:) > Windows > System_32 there's a program called lusmgr.msc or something like that. It has a icon of two faces.
open it up and right click on the folder called user you'll see an option that says create new user, clikc on it.
input the info and click create
next open the folder called groups
double-click Administrator
click add
input the new user you just created and click ok.
click apply
log in with the new user with workstation only or however it's set up for you
it's pretty cool
like I said though it might not work for you, it depends on what kind of network your school uses
be carfull with it

I also use anonymous proxy server list to change every time my browser's proxy connection (tools-.connections-.proxy settings). Surf free and anonymous with secure connection I use www.vipsurfer.com good luck to you!
