I bet he's going to federal pound-me-in-the-ass prison. - chicagojack, on 06/08/2009, -1/+33I would like to see him try and steal my 87 cents!
- Pinkertinkle, on 06/08/2009, -0/+26Peter Gibbons: Before we go any further, all right, we have to swear to God, Allah, that nobody knows about this but us, all right? No family members, no girlfriends, nobody.
Samir: Of course.
Michael Bolton: Agreed,
Lawrence: [from the next apartment through the wall] Don't worry, man. I won't tell anyone either.
Michael Bolton: Who the ***** is that?
Peter Gibbons: Uh, don't worry about him. He's cool. - stutimandal, on 06/08/2009, -1/+24Learn from AIG. Hack the money using bailouts.
- heyimfromreddit, on 06/08/2009, -1/+19Clicked this article for the Office Space jokes
- pjpete, on 06/08/2009, -0/+13I think he watched Superman III too many times.
- zerinS4, on 06/08/2009, -1/+14Off to a federal pound me in the arse prison for him!
- ratava911, on 06/08/2009, -1/+10what is he gonna do with 40 subscriptions to vibe??!!!
- omgTHEPATRIOTS, on 06/08/2009, -1/+10Do they have conjugal visits at these prisons?
- TheHerk, on 06/08/2009, -0/+9"I always mess up some mundane detail."
- viol999, on 06/08/2009, -1/+9Russians stealing money on the internet! Whats next, Mexicans selling drugs?
- edrodgers731, on 06/08/2009, -1/+8"Aaaaand it's gone."
"This line is for people that actually have money invested with the bank." "NEXT!" - kasjogren, on 06/08/2009, -0/+7"Made" is probably not the word you were looking for. I think "stole" would be more accurate.
- skc0der, on 06/08/2009, -0/+6Even the mac fanboys need a break from their insanely great steve jobs circle jerks.
- Groovydoo, on 06/08/2009, -1/+5The only way to steal money and get away with it is to have people give it to you legally: Religion, philosophy, food supplements, weight loss schemes, etc. etc. It may be legal but it is still stealing!
- inactive, on 06/08/2009, -1/+5Lend me some
- macmcraeart, on 06/08/2009, -0/+4my question is did they catch him because he drove up to work the next day in an 80s era ferrari?
- Creamzsoda, on 06/08/2009, -0/+3Damn it feels good to be a gangsta
- Rogor, on 06/08/2009, -0/+2Actually I work in online fraud (the good guys) and the amount of money stolen by Russians pales in comparison to the amount of fraud money heading to Africa each month. But then writing articles about African criminals is a touchy subject, Russians on the other hand hell Hollywoods been cleaning up on the "Russian menace" now for what 20-30 years.
- Subduction, on 06/08/2009, -0/+2I tend not to think of someone as having "made $112,000" when the next sentence includes "pleaded guilty."
- DarkCloud515, on 06/08/2009, -0/+2You'd be surprised how many times this happens without it being reported.
- XkenX87, on 06/08/2009, -1/+3No one asked for your 2 cents. buddy
I do mean buddy cause I am from Chicago. - omgTHEPATRIOTS, on 06/08/2009, -2/+4FYI, it's not just Russians. A financial company I worked for that distributed online trading software shied from doing business with most Eastern European states (in this case, Bulgaria) because they were notorious for hacking systems to get their money - as opposed to the Americans who hack by using 'bailout' money, and the Arabs who hack the system by jacking up oil prices to finance their insane architecture -- and the Chinese who hack the system by pegging their yuan at a price lower than the dollar.
- TreyCannon, on 06/09/2009, -0/+2Scare campaign by Mac...since their product 'can't get a virus"
- ryan99fl, on 06/08/2009, -2/+4PC LOAD LETTER? What the ***** does that mean?
- glubbdrubb, on 06/08/2009, -1/+3Why on earth is the article on Macworld??
- davidg11, on 06/08/2009, -0/+2You have my mmmm stapler...thats my stapler...i need it back because....
- Foot56, on 06/08/2009, -1/+3Office space?
- viol999, on 06/08/2009, -0/+2I realize that it's not just Russians (I just pick on them because they blame all of there social and financial woes on America.) But the excuse that everybody is ripping somebody off is no excuse to do it too. Hence the reason we're in the financial situation that we're in.
- mparker21311, on 06/08/2009, -0/+2Learn from the Government and do what they do. Steal everything.
- pjpete, on 06/08/2009, -0/+2Office Space referenced Superman III if you recall.
- NimhOfJoy, on 06/08/2009, -1/+2He should have tried to return the money.
- dlllb, on 06/08/2009, -0/+1***** me if you're gonna do it then do it for a bit more than 112k.
- inactive, on 06/08/2009, -0/+1Must be the stimulus plan money...I mean, that is all that would be left after it was taxed to hell.
- dlllb, on 06/08/2009, -0/+1Why? It wasn't human error that allowed them to hack. It was trojan horse virii that did..
- jbird32275, on 06/08/2009, -3/+4"Bobnev, of Volgograd, Russia, reportedly is out of the reach of U.S. law enforcement in his home country."
Man, I'm moving out of this country so I can pull some of this *****! - inactive, on 06/08/2009, -2/+3They should make people take a test before being allowed to use online banking or any other online financial transaction.
- Zippo, on 06/09/2009, -0/+1Clearly his scheme wasn't that good if he got caught.
- ladysherwood, on 06/10/2009, -0/+1"This is NOT some mundane detail, MichAEL!!!"
- ghounds07, on 06/08/2009, -0/+1Doesn't $112,000 seem like nothing to anyone else? I mean it said he was transferring up to $10,000 sometimes...this guy was just an amateur :(
- AraleNorimaki, on 06/08/2009, -1/+2
You know, corporate accounting is sure as hell gonna notice $305,326.13, Michael! - Rogor, on 06/08/2009, -0/+1Yep if it wasnt for the sexy "Russian" angle this story would never have made it.
- inactive, on 06/08/2009, -1/+1Live Free Or Die!
- inactive, on 06/08/2009, -1/+1You all are just pissed `cause you used your actual name and bank account somewhere.
- govtdoesnotwork, on 06/15/2009, -1/+1Since the yuan and the dollar are both basically Monopoly Money, I fail to see how it's worse when China's version of the Fed does exactly what ours does. Apparently, this position puts me in a political minority, but nobody has ever explained the difference to me, still...
- ryan99fl, on 06/08/2009, -2/+2If they move my desk just one more time, I'm going to burn this place down.
BTW, have you seen my red stapler? - ratava911, on 06/08/2009, -0/+0He should give half of that money to his friend asadula who works in securities.
- borez, on 06/08/2009, -2/+2I'd love to know how they caught him, Eastern Europeans are usually outstanding at covering their own tracks.
- inactive, on 06/08/2009, -1/+1He was just an amateur, yes, and he was caught because of it.
- fsweep, on 06/08/2009, -0/+0$100K is nothing. I wonder what he might have earned in a legit job using the same effort.
