List of 300+ proxy sites which let you surf any site
sharjeelsayed.blogspot.com — Title says it all.
- 2294 diggs
- digg it
- jccstatus, on 10/12/2007, -5/+18This solves all my problems
- gcnaddict, on 10/12/2007, -6/+64"This solves all my problems "
Same!
/me adds list to company firewall - Breakpoint25, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6I lneed this so can watch http://www.channelking.com at my school
- kendra, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1Including what breakfast to have tomorrow?
Man proxy sites can do anything! - Archeologist, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6A better list is here
http://www.antims.com/2006/04/15/blockzored/ - BlackSheepx, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5My school somehow has almost every single proxy I try and use blocked, even newly created ones or low key ones...rediculous. Hopefully some of these will work.
- neoform, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1How soon till these proxies get hammered by spammers/hackers then be forced to shut down? I'll say..... 3 days.
- moman, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Actually even by using any one of these sites, it is very easy to detect where you are browsing. Unless the "proxy-site" employs https to encrypt traffic between your pc and the proxy server, any sniffer (such as the network admin at your school or workplace) can easily see the contents of the request to the proxy server. These contents which are in plain text, fully contain the final destination which you are telling the proxy to retrieve and display. So all in all, unless there is encryption between you and your proxy server, it is pointless (it does mask determing where your going if someone looked at the destination ip of your request, but if they have that ability, they can also look at the payload)
- ifonly, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2http://www.privax.us - one of the best networks
- asdfasdf, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6WARNING: Most public proxy lists are HONEYPOTS run by the FEDS! If you are doing _anything_ that you think should be kept private, USE A REPUTABLE PROXY! or some other method (encryption).
- scooter12, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3@BlackSheepx
Maybe they block all proxies in the hope that you will learn to spell "ridiculous" while at school instead of surfing myspace. - ub3rgeek, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2@Archeologist
http://www.digg.com/security/The_Ultimite_Proxy_Guide
i find it interesting that that link is still floating around.
- gcnaddict, on 10/12/2007, -6/+64"This solves all my problems "
- BalsamLane, on 10/12/2007, -16/+16But what do you have to hide?
- Yez70, on 10/12/2007, -5/+38"If you're not a terrorist you have nothing to hide." - man I hate that quote.
Of course, I'd just love the government to file some report that I may have visited a site on STD's, checked out a few new sexual positions and looked up the definition of orgy, found out what this book I heard on the news called Mein Kampf was, and all the pron I may or may not view. I could be labeled a sexual deviant NAZI with crabs?!?!
/end exaggeration
Privacy is Privacy - proxies are a tool to give you privacy. It's the same as having curtains on your windows. What you do in your own home and on your own computer is your business. - drjborg, on 10/12/2007, -6/+4@yez70 while i agree with you for the most part, there is one small difference. It is hard to stalk/cheat/harass/steal from others @ home with your drapes shut. On the internet, not so much.
- Yez70, on 10/12/2007, -4/+11@drjborg
Ok, I'll send a bunch of kids over to watch you have sex with your wife then, since you're OK with an invasion of privacy. We need to make sure it's not rape...
/end sarcasm
Justiying an invasion of privacy, JUST IN CASE, someone breaks the law is just as unjust as breaking the law. This countries legal system is founded on one basic principle. Innocent until proven guilty. Just because the republican taliban has been ignoring this fact, does not make it any less true.
Don't even try saying we have to do it 'cuz of the terrorists. If we do, they've already won.
They took our privacy, they are continually taking and violating all of our freedoms and we've let our leaders help them and egg'd 'em on even more! Forget their propoganda and start thinking for yourself again! - drjborg, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2@yez70 don't get me wrong, I appreciate my privacy. I was just pointing out that the privacy of your own home should be more valued than your privacy on the internet. Do I have a constitutional right to block your windows out and cover your peep-hole and constantly ring your doorbell?
- southport, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Paranoid much?
- garreh, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1@BalsamLane it's called college blocking urls - you know, those boring lessons where that teacher who you can't even remember the name of, blabbing about the history of microprocessors.
Not hiding anything. Just want to surf the Internets.
- Yez70, on 10/12/2007, -5/+38"If you're not a terrorist you have nothing to hide." - man I hate that quote.

- Zinite, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Another list of proxies:

These days of Patriot Act, nothing you do is secret.

- patience, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5@knighblade: Hey stupid from Washington State.
Before you troll, make sure people can't EASILY find out who your are based on the WHOIS info on the site you own.
You are 16 (from another site) profile so I won't out you. Stop trolling dumb ass.
And don't use your digg name for your gmail and msn address. Thats just really stupid.
- Ninjab3ar, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1I'll use Google translator, thank you.
No porno ads on the top of the screen. - f8tbrautmehere, on 10/12/2007, -31/+5Dugg down for "title says it all". I hate that *****.
- titlesaysitall, on 10/12/2007, -5/+24The title fails to tell me the 300+ proxy sites. Very descriptive.

- handeyman, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5http://techtakeover.com/search
- Jakerius, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8How could this make it to the front page? There are about 30 stories submitted which are blog posts with proxy links EACH DAY.
- Dumbledore, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4Your right Jakerius. This is a piece of garbage story, and the same exact link has probably made it to the front page several times already. Ridiculous.
- omgwut, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5http://www.iphide.com and http://www.etary.com are my two personal picks.
- omgwut, on 10/12/2007, -6/+2Uh. Okay, sorry for sharing.
- brendandonhue, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9These are just unencrypted web proxies. The owners of these sites could still be monitoring/logging your passwords when you use them, and your ISP can see the traffic.
Try Tor for something closer to actual anonymity: http://tor.eff.org/- MASTERPL, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8No effin Kidding. I'm sure there are probably morons out there that check their email, bank, paypal, ebay accounts through "free proxies"

- sfacets, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I can guarantee that you can't edit Wikipedia using those. Maybe someone should tell Chinese people about proxies... hmmm.
- Phil246, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5DONT LINK TO YOUR OWN ***** BLOG.
jesus christ, perhaps digg should ban all links with *blog* in them. - TheBEAST205, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I perfer to go the route of using a proxy in my LAN settings so it's permantely in my browser.
- moovitz, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1this 'title says all' excuse is getting stupid.

- micromause, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Just use TOR... Oo
- 9enisP, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Every link posted here is blocked from where I'm at. Bluecoat sucks.

Youtube in the classroom here i come - sTiVo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I haven't had a need to use free proxies for a long time, but if the proxy you are trying to use is blocked, find the IP address of the blocked proxy site and use that in the address bar. It's worth a try, anyways.
- BigKitty, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1"What are you doing online that the government might not like, exactly?"
Here's one example: Gathering information about, or protesting, instances of wrongdoing on the part of government officials, government contractors, political campaign organizations, politically-connected or government-subsidized foundations, think tanks, academic institutions, prominent NGOs, and so on and so forth. That's something every decent citizen should be doing from time to time. - ub3rgeek, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1he sole this list from: http://www.econsultant.com/proxylist/index.html
