- HyperJack, on 06/10/2009, -0/+20Wow, that's a real pity man. Getting hacked and all. Now ***** off and shamelessly promote your site elsewhere.
- Angostura, on 06/10/2009, -1/+21Because they're not paid very much and they are continuously run off their feet supporting users who can't work out how to use e-mail?
Just a guess.
/Not a public sector sysadmin - AmyVernon, on 06/09/2009, -1/+18Well, that's embarrassing.
- youngdb, on 06/10/2009, -1/+14So they can turn the whole country into a public surveillance nightmare as if someone is reading straight from 1984, but they can't even secure their own websites?
I almost salute the hacker for showing them their not all-powerful, and they can't own the People. - dsmx, on 06/10/2009, -1/+13UK government is terrible at any IT project because the people who want these IT systems have no idea how they would work. Also they constantly chose the cheapest system rather than one that will actually do the job they want.
- tomjowitt, on 06/10/2009, -2/+9They expect us to be OK with their new DNA/web traffic/phone call database when they can't even lock down basic injection attacks on websites? Yeah right.
This government is so far behind the times when it comes to technology it's not even funny. - cloudberries, on 06/10/2009, -1/+8Oh noes! You're probably infected then
- pooper0, on 06/10/2009, -2/+8Why the frig cant these moronic sysadmins secure their damm websites?
- TCBevolver, on 06/10/2009, -0/+5Since when are Viagra, pr0n, and Cialis "dubious products"?
Health insurance, now there's a dubious product. Circus peanuts are widely considered a dubious product, as is Pabst Blue Ribbon. And don't even get me started about how dubious "overdraft protection" is. - fedja, on 06/10/2009, -0/+5How are the hotties? I'm liking the curriculum.
- cloudberries, on 06/10/2009, -0/+4Yeah, I see what you mean, seems like those hackers got in and made your website look like a pile of *****
- dlllb, on 06/10/2009, -0/+3They're welsh.
- kolding, on 06/09/2009, -2/+5Would make a cool botnet.
- dojocasino, on 06/10/2009, -1/+3They haven't covered my uni yet.
I wish I went to a porno university. - kevintootill, on 06/10/2009, -0/+2Zing!
- ViscidGobs, on 06/11/2009, -0/+1Funny how governments go with software that is sold by some party insider. It may shunt business to a party supporter but it ends up being embarrassing. Use open-source. It's cheaper and has less security holes.
- TCBevolver, on 06/10/2009, -0/+1GTF outta here! No way did that ever happen.
What was it like? - CB810, on 06/09/2009, -1/+2No one is safe!
- borez, on 06/10/2009, -2/+3Seconded.
- inactive, on 06/11/2009, -0/+1We've been seeing gobs of spam being bounced off of a chiropractic school in the UK as well.
Lock down open relay on those mail servers and make sure your web app isn't vulnerable to SQL inject attacks. - chazuk, on 06/10/2009, -0/+1Outlook........
Can't we have more open standards? - chazuk, on 06/10/2009, -0/+1Baaaaaad.
- dlllb, on 06/10/2009, -0/+1Not even relevant
- Twinnie, on 06/10/2009, -1/+2You sound like a ***** retard. Have you ever even read 1984 or just the synopsis on Wikipedia?
Most public sectors outsource their websites to other companies and just edit what's on them using a content management system, they're handled completely differently to secure information. - uknowwhoibe, on 06/10/2009, -0/+1I can't wait until we in a time where it's a requirement to have a basic understanding of computers (read: outlook, email, office, searching, printer/printing setup).
- Twinnie, on 06/10/2009, -1/+1I'll assume this is just because there was some exploit in the system they were using, a system that was outsourced to another company and used by many of them. It probably originates from a bi-monthly meeting between sys-admins from around the country who decided to share on a system in order to cut the cost. This is all very lighthearted stuff and not really very high up on the security issues, coming down to decisions made by webmasters who probably singlehandedly represent an entire county at the meetings. When it comes to handling databases and personal data the security measures go through the roof.
This coming from someone who worked in the public sector. - buddamus, on 06/10/2009, -4/+3Holy Crap, I went to Cardiff High school!
- caseycoold, on 06/10/2009, -4/+2Buried for citing wikipedia as a source. Common now...
- dwalker, on 06/10/2009, -5/+1Something to do with gumblar malware virus maybe:
