SIP just makes it easier since not everyone can decide on how to do the privacy stuff (theres a few ways to do this with sip including Remote-Party-ID and P-Asserted-Identity (along with P-Prefered-Identity and a few others)

One time I had some teenagers leaving vile but harmless prank voice mails late at night. Having their number I decided enough was enough and called their house on a Saturday afternoon to speak with mommy... lets just say I didn't get anymore prank calls from them. - CobaltBlue, on 07/22/2008, -0/+4It won't work with telemarketers.
