- socialpyramid, on 07/25/2008, -0/+35Wow, so my birthday is also Thread the Needle Day, St. James Day and Christmas in July, in addition to SysAdmin Day!
- inactive, on 07/25/2008, -0/+29some one should have brought me a present...
- phreak79, on 07/25/2008, -0/+27Hope all the traffic doesn't crash sysadminday.com. That'd be kinda ironic.
- notque, on 07/25/2008, -0/+21rm -rf /home/aliengoods
- Eazy~e, on 07/25/2008, -0/+20Are they celebrating this in the San Francisco utilities dept?
- jaxter2010, on 06/17/2009, -0/+20My boss doesn't even know its SysAdminDay. *tear*
- DoodleMaster, on 07/25/2008, -0/+18Happy Birthsysneedlejameschrist day then
- wwwonka, on 07/25/2008, -2/+19I bought our sysadmin a Hallmark card.
Since there were no "Happy Sysadmin Day" cards I bought him a "Congrats, You Are Having A Baby!" card...which he knew right away was a joke cause that dude hasn't been laid in years. - stevedusa, on 07/25/2008, -0/+15Happy SysAdmin day to all you SysAdmins out there from a fellow SysAdmin :)
- dtd00d, on 07/25/2008, -0/+15Why would anyone post to digg for SysAdmin Day? Have you any regard for the digg effect‽
...But now that it's here I have to digg it. - Timmaaayyy, on 07/25/2008, -0/+13Oh man, no one bought me a present today for SysAdmin Day... I'm so bummed now...
- notque, on 07/25/2008, -0/+13How many of you are working on the weekend too?! Happy sysadmin day my ass.
Stupid power outage, all my servers have to shut down, users won't bring down their services so that'll be fun. grumble grumble. - Cybrwolf, on 07/25/2008, -0/+12Your comment just proves that you can't be an SysAdmin.
A neuro-surgeon just has to see the insides of the patient's brain, while they sit there, either unconscious, or at least quiet. And so they never know how much of an idiot that person can be.
A SysAdmin has to see the insides of a user's brain, while they sit or stand there, vomiting their stupidity, at him. All the while resisting the urge to snap that user's neck, just to shut him, or her the hell up. - mboudro, on 07/25/2008, -0/+12I had to bridge an Motorola/AT&T modem to let my Cisco router connection though PPPoE.
SysAdmin day sucks this year. - cynic573, on 07/25/2008, -0/+10Dugg for interrobang.
- spywire, on 07/25/2008, -0/+9torrentspy sysadmins.. thank you for not turning over my ip to mpaa.
- notque, on 07/25/2008, -0/+9My present is working on the weekend, so be thankful you didn't get one.
- BOFH2, on 07/25/2008, -0/+9I got an email frm the HR director wishing me a happy sys. admin day. No one else....
- n4tune8, on 07/25/2008, -0/+9That's just your sysadmin playing with the system date....
- Dotcommer, on 07/25/2008, -0/+8I think this would be appropriate for this day...
http://www.break.com/index/it-guy-vs-dumb-employee ... - inactive, on 07/25/2008, -0/+8I was due to leave at 3:30. It's 18:30 on a Friday and I'm still at work. No thanks to any of the ***** who are no longer in the parking lot, busy appreciating me from their cozy couches and patios.
- martyFREEDOM, on 07/25/2008, -1/+9If you don't appreciate sysadmins, maybe you shouldn't use their internet.
- Matt2k, on 07/25/2008, -0/+8Give your sysadmin a pity lay (assuming you are a lady). You don't have to be gorgeous. Seriously, we like that you're kind of shy yourself. Bring your self conscious boobs over and plant them in his face. Be creative.
They will be forever grateful. Any file you need restored from backup. ANY FILE. It's yours from then on out. - RockMuncher, on 07/25/2008, -0/+7Happy SysAdmin Day!
Nice to see Three Dead Trolls getting some appreciation. - Cybrwolf, on 07/25/2008, -0/+7Damn sales guys!
- martyFREEDOM, on 07/25/2008, -0/+7We have earned the right, you probably work in sales anyway and don't understand the ***** you put us through ;)
- Violent, on 07/25/2008, -0/+6Appropriately made popular at the END OF MY DAY of unappreciated slavery :)
- sHockz, on 07/25/2008, -0/+6yay, happy sysadmin day! We are all huge nerds!
- notque, on 07/25/2008, -0/+6I think I'm just going to leave now to make up the time.
- YodaJones, on 07/25/2008, -0/+6I got a box of Cat5, what did you get?
- martyFREEDOM, on 07/25/2008, -0/+6sudo mv /home/aliengoods /dev/null
- martyFREEDOM, on 07/25/2008, -0/+5My specialty is Microsoft. If all the machines are on a domain, just roll the patches out with group policy!
- luther70, on 07/25/2008, -0/+5I had to deal with that once after walking up 25 flights of stairs.
- papastout, on 07/25/2008, -0/+5Setting up a new vm box to run webserver, OWA, and some other web filtering *****. Just another day, no love for the sysadmin here.
- notque, on 07/25/2008, -0/+5and that's when you break out the etherkillers
- busybrain, on 07/25/2008, -0/+5Perhaps if they did celebrate this day, they wouldn't have had their lil problem...
- SFBWork, on 07/25/2008, -1/+6We get no respect.
- diggit83, on 07/25/2008, -1/+6The cake is a lie =(
- Timmaaayyy, on 07/25/2008, -0/+5Actually, I troubleshoot and fix things many times a day... and by doing this I save the company tons and tons of money. You don't see many companies nowadays that don't work with computers.
- inactive, on 07/25/2008, -0/+4Awesome pic and happy sysadmin day =)
- mishaco, on 07/26/2008, -0/+4maybe your sys admins users are clueless ***** .
- LeonHRodriguez, on 07/25/2008, -1/+5Thanks a lot wired...now out SysAdmins won't stop demanding "appreciation beers"
- simplyintricate, on 07/28/2008, -1/+5su -
rm -rf /home/aliengoods - n4tune8, on 07/25/2008, -1/+5Thank you for your participation. Your account has been locked out. Your mail has been deleted. And oops, the tape that had them on backup was juuuust overwritten. Happy Sysadmin day!
- webkid, on 07/25/2008, -1/+5Boss gave me the day off. Woohoo!
- digitalarcanum, on 07/26/2008, -0/+3I feel your pain, I'm not quite a sysadmin yet (datacenter support-- essentially the sysadmin's whipping boy) but I work every weekend. There's never a dull moment around here. Outages to report, services affected, servers to decommission and new ones to employ. Our field is one that never leaves us with time to breathe, but truth be told, I would have it no other way. So to my fellow IT personnel, and sysadmins around the globe, happy sysadmin day, May your networks never falter, your hard drives never fail and the OS bend to your will always.
- notque, on 07/25/2008, -1/+4Every single freedomhater I've had the esteemed pleasure to reply to was a self-absorbed, lazy, compulsive freedom hater.
... suck it. - Aero347, on 07/26/2008, -0/+3Which probably drove him into a deeper depression =( but it's the thought that counts!
- Aero347, on 07/26/2008, -0/+3Because his Cmos battery is dead! He must be a Novell admin if he's that old..
