Half a million computers infected with 'malware' in 7 days
guardian.co.uk — Experts are warning internet users to be on their guard after more than half a million computers were infected with a single piece of malicious software. Experts believe it is the biggest outbreak in several years.

This is something that gets me really worried. In this case it was partially social engineering (because people were tricked into installing the trojan themselves), and it was successful in more than half a million cases. Next time the attackers may use a more severe vulnerability, installing a trojan/rootkit without any user interaction ... and I don't even dare to predict the numbers there.
