- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+13"Hackers penetrate computers"
Tell me something I don't know... Ewww... - sirmalloc, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10According to Special Agent Richard Gill, they penetrate and ravage delicate public and privately owned computer systems, infecting them with viruses, and stealing materials for their own ends. These people, they are terrorists.
- Greyhaven7, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7MSI is awesome!
- Leadhyena, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Priceless:
"L@stplace, a team that has easily been in the lead since the contest began, is suddenly seeing its position challenged by a group _with_a_name_not_fit_for_print_."
Something tells me that the mainstream media is ill-equipped for this kind of reporting. - ThugEsquire, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Quote FTA: "Back in the room hosting the three-day capture-the-flag competition, empty pizza boxes and soft drink containers litter tables as the three-day game unfolded. Industrial beats from a band called Mindless Self Indulgence blast over a sound system while a short video animation of a scantily clad woman working an electric drill is beamed on one of the walls."
I love how Mindless Self Indulgence is considered "industrial." - davdav, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8Till I can get my

"In a dimly lit room off the main drag of a computer-security conference,"
waste of my time.... - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6"Industrial beats from a band called Mindless Self Indulgence blast over a sound system while a short video animation of a scantily clad woman working an electric drill is beamed on one of the walls."
Brilliant :) - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5This comment pwn3d by Zero Cool.
- DisposableRob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3"I love how Mindless Self Indulgence is considered "industrial.""
It's not that far off, they're published by Metropolis Records and they call themselves "industrial jungle pussy punk". - CopyNinja, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The team is scoring major points for increasing its number of "Pwns," hacker speak for possessing, or owning, an opponent's computer. - hahahhahaa "hacker speak"
- bobothn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2i always thought that if you pwn some one or some ones computer it was because you owned the person not because you possessed his machine.
- YourTechSupport, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2MSI's "Bring The Pain" is my psyche-out anthem. :D
- veza, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I found the pics now http://news.com.com/Photos+Hacking+at+Defcon/2300-1029_3-6102806.html?tag=nefd.lede
- jstroot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Does anyone know if there is a cd with all of the presentations and such for download.
I know the presentations can be individually downloaded from the Defcon site, but I'd rather not pull down each one. - bob_ross, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That's what I was trying to figure out. I didn't see any team names not fit for print. Though maybe they consider Sk3wl0fR00t not fit for print ;)
- darkjeffro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Real funny. I hope I can go to Defcon one of these days.
- darkliquid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I wonder which one of these names were not "fit for print"

I ***** hate the media. - josegutz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1My... Just by the title I thought this was something related to the government and hackers. Much to my demise...
Belay my last. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -7/+7He obviously doesn't want to read them fancy visual words. Only Jesus Haters can read them fancy squiggles anyway.

- McNubbins, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0*sigh*
Pretty funny read. I love the bit about "A name not fit for print" and how "pwn" is hacker speak for having possession of someone's computer. :P - McNubbins, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Too true.
- Porch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+04096k.info/~porch/defcon06/
Some raw videos of Defcon 14. I did not have my normal camera and this one just takes crappy avi that are huge. It was too dark in most rooms for normal photos so I used the video mode. - Blitzenn, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Anyone can stand on one finger, anyone!
Instructions: Start by preparing your finger that you intend to stand on. I prefer to wrap it loosely in a soft scrap of cloth. Then find a smooth piece of sidewalk somewhere. Inspect it closely for debris and clean the surface of all such stuff as this can result in an injury. Announce your intentions to passerbys, "Watch me stand on one finger everyone!". After a small crowd gathers, knell on the sidewalk and place your finger parallel to the surface of the sidewalk. Now hum loudly with your eyes closed to give you that Zen moment you will need. Start by lifting your shoe, preferably the one opposite the hand of the finger you have parallel to the ground. Raise the foot high, above your head if possible, then lower it and raise it a couple of times while continuing the humming. Now stop humming and open your eyes and with great focus, place your foot on top of the finger you have on the sidewalk, sandwiching it between your shoe sole and the pavement. Now stand, as well, as you can with your foot still on your finger, and announce to everyone watching that you have successfully "stood on one finger"! - shatters, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3not with their "floppy disks", though.

Acid Burn - RoryQ, on 10/12/2007, -19/+10It may be a perfectly acceptable question, but the fact that he could have Googled it, instead of asking here, is the reason im digging him down
- wvdavis, on 10/12/2007, -13/+2Mod down for asking for pictures.
Here is a defcon picture for ya: http://www.greymatter.org/pics/defcon/DCP01212.JPG - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -13/+2I love how Nine Inch Nails is considered industrial
