- bigronaldo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This hack is nearly ten years old, but there seems to always be new interfaces :-) Here is yet another:

- adml_shake, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Program them all to say "FEED ME PAPER!!" about 5000 times.
- ziggystardust, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I work at Hp..I got all the printers on my floor to read "Insert Coin". Pretty fun. Old news though. Pretty sure this is a dupe because I remember learning this from Digg in June.

- MikeMacMan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Any guides on how to use the original hack? My college has all HP printers....
- iguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0anyone this would be raeally fun?
- hax0r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0this is pretty awesome
- ElBob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I think I know what is going to happen at my school next week...
- SHuisman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I got a jetdirect, unfortunately no lcd display, but i can imagine some cool things at school :-)
- jmccorm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I used to use HPJetAdmin to change the control panel to Japanese, and to modify the output trays. Some of my coworkers were not able to cope with it. (Paper ends up in floor instead of tray, control panel unreadable.)
- TheHarmonator, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Fantastic program
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I want to do this at school... But the administration is douche bags at my school and they'll claim me teh 1337 haxor and ban me from computer usage... Oh well, I'm a Senior, I don't give a *****.
- ScootUnder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I just setup five of these last week at one of our new schools. I'm glad I put good strong passwords on them.
-scooter - thetonio, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0LOL, don't tell people to do this at their school! They'll get caught/suspended for sure... they're so uptight these days.
- Mexrocker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i wish i could do this but my school doesn't use HP printers...
- h4lofourt33n, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"I want to do this at school... But the administration is douche bags at my school and they'll claim me teh 1337 haxor and ban me from computer usage... Oh well, I'm a Senior, I don't give a *****." Me too supernick, I was looking for various minimal things leading up to one big thing. This is a good start.

The original exploit includes source code for Unix. You'll have to compile it yourself and even after that I have no idea if it will work.

"How can you do it if you can't install programs on any computer on the network?"
The original command line version doesn't look like it requires an install. I'm not sure about the new VB GUI version. You should be able to copy it to a usb thumbdrive, floppy, or send it to your web email and run it. - fishynet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wow, this is the ultimate Senior prank!
I can see it now: every printer in the school saying "Class of 2006"
too bad the admins know I'm the only person worth half a crap with computers in the whole school :/ - everson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0How can you do it if you can't install programs on any computer on the network?
- teh_toaster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0As peerk said, I still think the original is better

- egon0119, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I used a program like this back in high school. I changed all the displays to "Error 42: Fire Warning"
Got a good laugh.
