- newzooreview, on 01/26/2008, -11/+24He's an Estonian citizen. The title is B.S. The whole point of this story is that the attack DID NOT come from another country; it was just a few students within Estonia. Whether one of the Estonians had Russian ancestry is irrelevant.
- tehxen3, on 01/26/2008, -7/+19wtf. And this guy actually got dugg up?
Digg is full of retards.
Estonia is one of the freest economies in Europe and has a booming economy, something you can't say about Russia. - jcc6655, on 01/26/2008, -4/+16good thing scientology isnt a government.
- aSilver, on 01/26/2008, -6/+17Dear sovietamerica,
***** You
Sincerely, an offended Estonian. - solid12345, on 01/26/2008, -8/+19Well maybe if the USSR hadn't raped Estonia to the point that even the Nazis of all people seemed like saviors to them they wouldn't have done that.
- m2ger, on 01/26/2008, -2/+13Well, mister Chupatumama. ***** you too! Estonians are not trying to rewrite history books. Estonians don't hate russians, germans, jews, muslims, or whatever. Estonians only hate idiots like You. Period.
PS My grandparents and their grandparents were killed-raped-tortured by germans, russians, swedes, polish, danish, ... That's history and facts, but I'm able to get over with it. Once again, please go and ***** yourself! - Lnet, on 01/26/2008, -9/+18Russia will not pay fine; fine will pay Russia.
- sinuegoist, on 01/26/2008, -0/+9I, as an Estonian, laugh at the Russians saying Estonia is a Nazi country. In last few years, for example, there have been two announcements of racial hate crimes (both not physical attack, but verbal). As for Russia.. well.. I guess you really must hate Youtube now.

As much for the cyber attacks.. well, the fact that a certain man lives in Estonia, doesn't mean he doesn't support the undemocratic views of Kremlin. The fact that someone lives in Estonia, doesn't automatically mean that he isn't stupid enough to give into Moscow's provocative messages. And well, who can blame them to believe all sorts of crap - Russia is known for altering information even in schoolbooks now and before. Can you believe they are trying to deny occuping Baltic States as USSR? It's like trying to deny Iraq war - it happened - the whole world knows it. There's no way to hide it. Countries were occupied, people were killed and raped. They ***** up and are trying to hide it now. Well.. some uneducated, pointless people may actually believe it, but Europe doesn't. - gerbil20, on 01/27/2008, -1/+9Good job, Estonians!
- ro4ers, on 01/26/2008, -3/+11Eh, the whole mess was a Russian gov. provocation anyways. Its also the same here in Latvia, the groups receive money from the Kremlin for their operation.
The group "Nashi" in Russia is really scaring the cr*p out of me, its like Hitler Jugend reborn. Just google it. - Ithrazel, on 01/26/2008, -2/+9Thing is, Chupatumama, estonians dont really ahte anyone. Russians hate estonians for taking down a monument for erected for aggressors. It was demoralizing and offending for estonian people to see a monument symbolizing mass genocide, deportation, slave camps and so on in thecentralposition of their capital city. To consider, that the monument wasnt even destroyed, it was merely deported to another region of Tallinn, is already a huge bow to free speech and the memory of russian soldiers.
- ro4ers, on 01/26/2008, -0/+7My dear lad, please study the different history of Baltics vs. Russia and then come back to comment.
- sinuegoist, on 01/26/2008, -0/+6One thing is saluting Nazi-regime, totally another thing is remembering our fathers and grandfathers who died in the IIWW. Today's sons and grandsons can't speak for their dead ancestors, to tell why they made the chice they did, but every son has a right to mourn his father, doesn't matter under what kind of a flag they died.
- poidh, on 01/26/2008, -0/+6You're wrong, but never mind.
- ro4ers, on 01/26/2008, -3/+9Hear, hear!
An offended Latvian.
P.S. We Baltics should really stick together, considering the very similiar history of the last 100 or so years. - spider418, on 01/26/2008, -0/+6If you were born in Estonia and both of your parents were Russian you are Russian. Even if it was great great parents, still no Estonian for you. Actually "Ethnic" part is prob added in translation, there you are just Russian, Estonian, German, Ukrainian. Not picking on Estonia, this is the same in most of Europe and Russia, prob everywhere except US, where 2nd generation immigrants are American.
- m2ger, on 01/26/2008, -1/+6Accusing of what? For not accepting the genocide in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuanina, Poland, etc AND in Russia? For not accepting the fact that they started WW II?
When You've passed Your 3rd grade history lessons, You're welcomed back to Digg. Till then go play with Your Legos. Thank You. - Sxiperio, on 01/26/2008, -2/+7Estonia isn't country who sympathize some one who are bigger or have more powerful motivation for doing things like breaking computers. What if you are right, and some one dies for another country. Is that fact not so important if it be in other place, not center of "different" country's capital.
- sinuegoist, on 01/27/2008, -0/+5Estonia is as liberate as any other Europe country. So we have a Nazi living in Estonia. Ohnoes.. how many million Nazis do you have in Russia? Unlike Russia, Estonia doesn't eat out people who think differently. I believe Nazism is so popular, there's atleast one Nazi in every country around the world. There are alot of Nazis in Germany. Is Germany a Nazist country now? The answer: "No, atleast not as long as they keep buying your gas". Soon as Germany stops buying Russia's gas, they also "magically" turn into a Nazi-regime country.
Face it.. Russia calls everyone Nazi, who isn't communists. - crapmatic, on 01/26/2008, -2/+6I'm digging you up. It makes me sad to see serious on-topic questions get digged down with a flippant "use google", while a stale Yakov Smirnoff joke gets +12 diggs.

-A 1/2 Estonian 1/2 Latvian living in Canada - m2ger, on 01/26/2008, -2/+6Whoa, I'm impressed! Mr SovietAmerica has learned two key-strokes - ctrl-c, cltr-v - on his computer that Santa gave him. Well, here's something for You when You get to the age where a normal person can read more than a comic-strips: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Propaganda
- eesel, on 01/27/2008, -0/+3it was statue for "To Estonian men who fought in 1940-1945 against Bolshevism and for the restoration of Estonian independence" , and for last i checked estonian legion were not convicted at Nuremberg Trials.

by the way -
The Baltic Waffen SS Units (Baltic Legions) are to be considered as separate and distinct in purpose, ideology, activities, and qualifications for membership from the German SS, and therefore the Commission holds them not to be a movement hostile to the Government of the United States. - romangerman, on 01/28/2008, -0/+3Glad to see that there are some fellow Estonians here who have the guts to speak out what they feel!
- ro4ers, on 01/27/2008, -0/+3Exactly, we have the same symbol in Latvia and have had for yrs before WW2 and Hitler.
- SouthsideIrish, on 01/26/2008, -2/+5Your kidding me right? You really don't know?
- m2ger, on 01/26/2008, -0/+3Yep, we still do stick together. And for the misguided ones, here's something: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baltic_way
- RedStarRizing, on 01/26/2008, -3/+6its the monument to fallen soviet soldiers which estonia wanted (and did) to dig up and move
russians were not happy - iisonly, on 01/26/2008, -0/+3Its just like saying that YOU are commenting here, you little thing, you are only one of 65.
- titlesaysitall, on 01/26/2008, -2/+5USe the Google!
- leet455, on 01/28/2008, -0/+3Go Eesti!
- sinuegoist, on 01/27/2008, -0/+3Oh and btw. The swastika you're talking about.. the Nazi swastika has the "horns" turning to the other side making the one you are talking about an ancient symbol, tracking its roots back in India and Hinduism.
Archaeological evidence of swastika-shaped ornaments dates from the Neolithic period. An ancient symbol, it occurs mainly in the cultures that are in modern day India and the surrounding area; sometimes as a geometrical motif and sometimes as a religious symbol. It has long been widely used in major world religions such as Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swastika - gerbil20, on 01/27/2008, -0/+3I think he refers to Molotov-Ribbentrop pact.
- andrewsas, on 02/11/2008, -0/+3Every single time one writes a story about Estonia, Russian minions crawl out of their cages and start debating how we, Estonians, preach Nazis on our streets. While in the last few years there have been literally hundreds of cases for racial discriminative activities in Moscow alone. At least there's democracy in state of Estonia, we don't kill people who look or act differently. We don't hunt and kill journalists who go against our heel of Achilles. And we definitely don't try take what wasn't meant to be taken in the first place, unlike you. You have lost, live with it.
- sinuegoist, on 01/27/2008, -0/+2Btw. You live in Estonia. So I have a question for you: If you hate Estonia so much, why don't you leave to Russia? i mean.. you obviously love Russia so much. Oh let me guess.. you're just smart enough not to go to a country where you know you couldn't live so well. Who can blame you.. in Russia you would probably have to live as a poor man, watching how oligarhs build new glass-castles while you worry about getting food the next day. Give me one reasonable answer for why you still live in Estonia if you hate it so much. God knows noone will miss you.
- poidh, on 01/26/2008, -1/+3My pounds buy me more than your measly dollars.
- mhearne, on 01/28/2008, -0/+2Real money is: Gold, Silver and the 5 Platinoids. Period.
In fact, if you will read the Constitution that we both swore to uphold, gold and silver are the only legal tender allowed in the United States.
Federal Reserve Notes really aren't good for much. They are worthless, they don't burn well and they are too slick to wipe your tail with. So let's get rid of them. They were never meant to consist of more than 15 per cent of our circulating currency, and have now become the only bill, along with the counterfeit coins.
Let's just get rid of the fiat money, and the politicians who put it there. Exactly where is all the gold and silver? Does anyone here know? We do know that there is some bullion left at West Point, but all the other vaults are empty. What happened to it all? Did the space aliens take it up into the sky? That would seem just about as plausible as any other double-talk I've heard since 1963! - sinuegoist, on 01/27/2008, -0/+2Well I believe reannouncing the anthem of Sovient Union as your new anthem says alot about the direction your country is heading to..
Yes, Russia has its problems. Starting from killing honest journalists to keep them shut..

Btw, the link you provided is dead. - gerbil20, on 01/27/2008, -0/+2Oh puhleeeeez. When it comes to genocide, russkies hold a solid second place.
- sinuegoist, on 01/27/2008, -0/+2If you want to find out if this woman has accepted Hinduism as her religion, go and ask her - I am not going to speak for her, I am not going to speculate. But I am going to have to repeat myself, as I see, because obviously you didn't understand: the Nazi swastika of the Third Reich, was totally different.
+ I can see you didn't read the Wikipedia article. Maybe you have trouble with english, maybe you're just arrogant, but let me quote Wiki: " The swastika is one of the most common symbols used throughout Baltic art. The symbol was related to the Sun, as well as Dievas (the god of creation), Perkūnas (the god of thunder) and Laima (the goddess of joy and destiny). It is featured on distaffs, dowry chests, cloths and other items. "
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swastika#Baltic
+ I find you extremely uneducated if you truly think one person wearing a sign that looks abit like Nazi swastika means the whole country is Nazi.
I showed everyone videos of Russian Nazis beating up foreign people on the streets. Does this mean everyone Russian are Nazis? I used to didn't think so, but now your comments seem to say so. Does one person doing something, shows the thinking of the entire country? No. - m2ger, on 01/26/2008, -0/+2dusanmal, next time, try making a joke on women or mother-in-laws.
Ah, and there just might be a shelf labeled "History" in the the bookstore where You're from. Or maybe not. - Xloaded, on 01/28/2008, -0/+2Well its a crapp comments from Russian Brain washed dum pll.

- kults, on 01/30/2008, -0/+2Utter BS. There was no Waffen SS monument planned, it was a monument for fallen Estonians who fought against Russians. Everybody that fought against Soviet communists isn't automatically a Nazi. Thanks for being prejudiced and racist, keep it up.
- mybeat, on 01/27/2008, -0/+1Russia started WWII? are you ***** kidding me? how retarded has one to be to believe in such crap
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_War_II - chancefl, on 08/09/2008, -0/+1Although Estonian singles still looking for Russian brides
http://www.loveawake.com/free-online-dating/Estoni ... - trovoltex, on 02/09/2008, -0/+1Do you know that in 1938 Germany and Poland divided Chekhoslovakia (check Munich Agreement in your favourite WIKIPEDIA, check Russian actions before WW2). And also I mention that Soviet Union took only parts with were seized by Poland in the war (Russo-Poland) which took place after revolution in Russia.
Soviet Union wasn't innocent (but mostly - 99% -to own people). Poland wasn't innocent! UK wasn't innocent. USA wasn't innocent. Neither Germany. YOU ARE TRYING TO CHOOSE SAINTS FROM THE HORDE OF WOLVES! - sven862, on 01/26/2008, -2/+3You should do your history homework before you call Estonians nazis
