They do much more than that though.
the developments recently that are in the news about computercops being attacked using DISTRIBUTED DENIAL OF SERVICE ATTACKS is only proof of how effective they have become in the area of countering the attacks of the INTERNET CRIMINALS.
they are number one in the handling of reports of emails used to gain closely guarded information from gullible recipients as to the logons and passwords for banks accounts.
since they are so effective against our internet enemies, they have become the number one target to hit with these kinds of attacks.
back at the beginning of the site growth period there was a DDoS by ryan 1918 dot com and he was held accountable by the internet crime complaint commission,
how that turned out is not known to me,
but recent postings indicate that he was detained and charged by the FBI and the Michigan state Police, his registration of his domain was in Michigan.
the first DDoS was during the time when the Laudanskys had just gotten Married and were on their honeymoon in Hawaii,
they spent a lot of time baybsitting the site remotely during that attack.
although computercops is now called Castlecops dot com, it is still the same site that was running many years ago,
and it has evolved to a level which the attackers cannot stand anymore.
so,
they choose to attack during a time when castlecops is enjoying a remarkable point in their history,
their fifth year of operation,
free to the public.
