- sockpuppets, on 11/17/2008, -2/+84Just change your name, it's easier. I changed mine to Kevin Rose.
- solid12345, on 11/17/2008, -0/+62This is why I never use a computer.
- habbofresh, on 11/17/2008, -0/+53"Once the pee is in the pool, you can't get it out"
- solid12345, on 11/17/2008, -0/+34Don't forget to delete that bookmark.
- RedS0x, on 11/17/2008, -0/+32WHOOSH!!
- theradical, on 11/17/2008, -1/+29don't worry WrongedGirl, I found it: http://web.archive.org/web/20050516064513/http://b ...
- inactive, on 11/17/2008, -3/+25bookmarked. Thanks for the article!
- estacado, on 11/17/2008, -0/+18It's okay if another person has the same name as yours, and and he's more popular. Last time I checked on Google, the first result of my name was a story about a rapist.
- cowanon, on 11/17/2008, -0/+14Exactly. Bet Alison Melymuka is pissed with Computer World right now.
But, all in all, good story with sex, drugs, and a twist in the end. - SirChasm, on 11/17/2008, -0/+13I imagine that as you waited for the Digg comment to disappear, those few hours must have been hellish. I wish I could have provided any support to you through that difficult time.
- merreborn, on 11/17/2008, -0/+13Your post shows up as google result #6 for "alison melymuka" now (as will this one, I'm sure.) -- a mere 15 minutes after you posted it.
I guess we can now look forward to part two of this article:
How to get content removed from digg.com and archive.org.
That should be interesting. - ultraseamus, on 11/17/2008, -0/+13Remind me to never swim in your pool.
- zaffir, on 11/17/2008, -0/+11Maybe if WrongedGirl wasn't a drugged up floozie she wouldn't have had to do this.
- mlvassallo, on 11/17/2008, -2/+13You care that much about Digg?
- platipuz, on 11/17/2008, -0/+9Pool's Closed...
- Cglass, on 11/17/2008, -2/+11You DON'T?!? >:O
- Applex, on 11/17/2008, -1/+10That's pretty useful! I'll have to try faking being a privacy organization next time.
- inactive, on 11/17/2008, -2/+11Cereal Killer: "FYI man, alright. You could sit at home, and do like absolutely nothing, and your name goes through like 17 computers a day. 1984? Yeah right, man. That's a typo. Orwell is here now. He's livin' large. We have no names, man. No names. We are nameless!"
- TTSkipper, on 11/17/2008, -0/+9What about Internet Archive?
- theradical, on 11/17/2008, -0/+9Good news Alison Melymuka! Now know one will know about that night you fell asleep in your basement "drinkin malibu and goldschlagger and watchin clerks"
- Totz83, on 11/17/2008, -0/+8My (drunk) mate once posted something here on Digg under my name [during a party at my house, I left my PC on and was still logged into Digg at the time] which was a bit... erm sensitive. So I contacted Digg's support team and the comment was erased within a few hours.
Awesome! - inactive, on 11/17/2008, -0/+8maybe we should stop typing Alison Melymuka so much :D
- emt1451, on 11/17/2008, -0/+8You are the dumbest person in the world.
- ultraseamus, on 11/17/2008, -2/+10Umm, given the content of the article, I think the point is that if it is on Digg it is on the internet. And Digg not being a small site, it would also be pretty high in a Google search.
- mykelsuthertun, on 11/17/2008, -0/+7The other me's are a professional race car driver, Detective Chief Inspector for the British police, a high-stakes poker player, and a film director. Suddenly my life feels very lame. (But at least I've still got the top 3 Google search results for my name!)
The other me's better pray I don't slander myself. - inactive, on 11/17/2008, -2/+91. Always use your real name
- zombiedepot, on 11/17/2008, -0/+5HACK THE PLANET
- inactive, on 11/17/2008, -0/+5Im glad i have the same name as a US Senator, a hockey writer, a childrens music composer, and a painter.
- hawksfan03, on 11/17/2008, -0/+4RTFA
- Zihuatanejo, on 11/17/2008, -0/+4The first case definitely applies to me. One of my friends put my full name in his journal (which had a vulgar headline that appears as a search result). It no longer appears on Google, but typing my full name into other search engines results in the vulgar link, even though my friend deleted his journal years ago.
- attn2risky, on 11/17/2008, -0/+3this inspired me to delete my livejournal from highschool. thank god you remind me.
- bhartzer, on 11/17/2008, -0/+3I've had good success removing some stuff; in many cases if you call the site owner up on the phone and talk to them it will help.
- D3koy, on 11/17/2008, -1/+4Or, you could not worry about things on the internet...This clearly won't work for some people, but you should try to live a life you wouldn't mind people knowing about
- BaconPopinski, on 11/17/2008, -0/+3Well put.
- habbofresh, on 11/17/2008, -0/+3That's due to AIDS
- inactive, on 11/17/2008, -0/+2wheres the DDOS the site tip?
- DulcetTone, on 11/17/2008, -1/+3Archive.org and Google cache (usenet included) continue to be problems. Someone show me the EULA I accepted before posting on USENET?
- MtheoryX, on 11/17/2008, -1/+34chan is the pee in the internet's pool.
And it tastes like delicious cake. - inactive, on 11/17/2008, -0/+2well using your real name or email on usenet..um.lol
- laelfrog, on 11/19/2008, -0/+2Could have been dictated?
- habbofresh, on 11/18/2008, -0/+2whoah. who said anything about 4chan?
also: rules 1 & 2.... - theradical, on 11/17/2008, -0/+2Yes, but they are all disappointed in having the same name as a convicted rapist. :(
- inactive, on 11/17/2008, -1/+3Whoa, whoa, whoa... really!?
- theradical, on 11/17/2008, -0/+2You mean Alison Melymuka. If Alison Melymuka wasn't a drugged up floozie.
- inactive, on 11/17/2008, -0/+1Cereal Killer: "I kinda feel like God."
- leerayIG88, on 11/17/2008, -0/+1could this have saved the StarWarsKid from going mentally mad?
- oda1, on 11/17/2008, -0/+1so THAT'S why you had the carrot up your ass.
- theradical, on 11/17/2008, -0/+1what, really?
- inactive, on 11/17/2008, -0/+1What's the problem? Just kill everyone that would find your internet comments offensive. Problem solved.
- oda1, on 11/17/2008, -0/+1I like the tip where they recommended simply asking the web master to remove it. Thanks, I would never have thought of that.
