- Kido1986, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Some guys ICQ number is up there and the first 3 letters of his password are p-a-s. Hmmm.
- cataphoresis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That ICQ number is 349915828 and yes, "password" is the password.
Try it yourself: http://www.icq.com/icq2go/ - nickster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wasn't it Patrick Norton the one who said don't turn your laptop on anywhere near defcon?
Cool digg anyway. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0^^^Got it right.
- Anth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Five letters.. HTTPS...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0boy if I go to defcon for sure I'll turn on my laptop, I'll submit every phony password and user name to make people think WTF!!!, ah the beauty of POST and GET requests.
- ktholliday, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0that was hilariousm, i would loveto attend a DefCon confrence 1 of these days, great fun, huh?
- Thing2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0hahahahahahaha - now that my friends, that's sheer terror.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Kido1986 yep it works.
- hufnmouth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0What's the name of the app in the 5th picture down?
- SDNick484, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0One of the biggest issues at defcon the last couple years has been rouge access points. It's quite simple to spoof MAC addresses and over power genuine signals. Unless you happen to have your host's fingerprint handy, I'd be weary of connecting to anything even if it's encrypted like with SSH.
- dewey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Defcon was great, hearing people whine after showing up on the wall of sheep was glorious. Lots of people were taken by the wall of sheep, including Winn and even a fed was spotted by reading the header from an email that was captured.
- Polymira, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0best thing to do is just vpn to a machine outside with stron encryption....
People who throw out plaintext passwords on a insecure wifi network are just stupid. - Tom_Riddle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0lol, oh my god! we're gonna be slaughtered!
- x404x, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I should add that I only ssh'd over the wireless network the last two years they had it (didn't go this year), the other times were over the old wired network that ran through out the hotel...and that was just as dirty ;-p
- WonkoTheSane, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0hm mm.... this would be a good pl;ace to test your laptops security. Just make sure that u got nothing of value on it, and for good measure format it after wards.
- x404x, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0You can turn on your laptop, don't be an idiot and transfer passwords over the network in clear text. In the 5 years of going to defcon I have never had any problems with having accounts compromised. There was quite a few brute force attempts on one of the servers I ssh'd in to but they never were successful in gaining access.
- furiouszebra, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I can't read the ICQ number, what is it? (lol)

What is Digg?
