- jpturner, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4While this is interesting and at worst mischievous, one should remember that many people who are in business are on-the-road and rely on these hot spots for email and research. Students too. Granted you are open to attack especially when wireless, still naive as it sounds, just because you can do it, does not mean you should.
- theundone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"so where's the tutorial on how to tunnel all web traffic via a VPN or SSH tunnel? anyone want to share?"

I think this was actually a digg awhile back. Good read on SSH and the like. - MilfordCubicle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yay....more fuel for script kiddies....lucky I use VPN/SSL every time I have to use a hotspot. I just feel sorry for all the low-hanging fruit out there watching their auctions or checkin their hotmail at their local coffee shop.
good read tho. - netnerd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"wireless networking is not that secure after all"
After all? Who said wireless was secure in the first place?!
...still, great read. Dugg. - Massif, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Seems kinda fun, but I would never do it.
It would be interesting if places like Starbucks used something like this to insert starbucks ads into every website you visit. Annoying, but still interesting. - itiswhatitis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Iron Geek did something like this. He takes it one more step and gives you code to do it your self. - bacon_skoda, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is a really great excercise and afterwards, everyone will share a laugh and pat you on the back.

- caseysousa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0so where's the tutorial on how to tunnel all web traffic via a VPN or SSH tunnel? anyone want to share?
- striker1211, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I don't get it, shouldnt the browser resolve the IP, then only allow the IP resolved to send data to its local port? I thought this is how it worked. Maybe uses cache poisening somehow... but i didnt see it in the example.
- carcus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0oh man, i saw this first hand at defcon last year. goatse everywhere!!! ahhhh!!
- locohozt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This app "airpwn" is sure to become an instant hit among morons in the same way as sub7 and its like and we'll be experiencing its repercussions for a couple years now..
- antiTRACE, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Well written... Dugg.
This isn't just for wireless - I mean similar to this, DNS or APR poisoning - so if you're on any sort of network, be cautious, double click that lock and make sure its the site you think it is if you're using SSL... - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0hahaha OMG this is so awesome OMG lol ROPTFL hehehe !!!0n3on3oneone fkhkjvj fgjk fj
- xile, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Old script, new article. I liked this article a little better than the page I read about airpwn a few years ago because it focuses on the technology, rather than the outcome of deployment at Defcon. Still, both reads are enticing and I'll definately have to try this when I upgrade to a laptop capable of using multiple cards.
- G-RaZoR, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I wonder if the command "netsend" would work, you would need to find out what the workstation names were though...
- JRJ0710296, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Airpwn and Airsnort are really nice programs...
Nice idea, i'll use it at the next visit to Starbucks... - donnikhan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0so this is stuff us mac users can pull on people too?
- verde, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I once saw a program that let you capture Yahoo IM conversations around you. I can't remember the name of it... Anyone know?
- Shadowsnake, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0heh, very cool! Seems like i pissed all my friends off using it...
- CaptSnuffy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Don't steal my cookies! Anything but that!

Also thank you posters for all the cool links! It's going to take me awhile to sift through all this great info! - muldoonaz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0who needs two wireless cards? one internal and one external PCMCIA ftw!
- Jtrade, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0when u see 2 wireless cards in a laptop, u know something aint right..
- Wolfman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Awesome and downright scarey at the same time, I'll definately have to give this a try.
