Then when some haxor-wannabe cracks your wep, they are left sniffing triple-des encryped traffic. Good luck to them at that point ;)

Also, I have a feeling the driver didn't take very well on my computer. It seems to freeze up airodump and aireplay every 15 seconds or so. I have to ctrl-c to quit it and start it again. I think it's every time it recieves an arp packet, it's trying to inject it and it fails or something. Authenticating with the netowork seems fine, but injecting is my problem.

sudo apt-get install build-essential

you probably do not have your card in monitor mode. Generally, typing "iwconfig ath0 mode monitor" into terminal works. With an orinoco card I used, I had to use a different method, but that should do it for most other ones.
To those WPA lovers...
You can crack WPA with Aircrack 2.3 fairly quickly. And I bet not a lot of you leeching wifi access off of neighbours did it by cracking WEP. More likely the connection was unsecured (/me waits for the ***** flood of people claiming they HAVE cracked WEP to gain free wireless access)

If you do't know how to set up a VPN and/or can't afford to buy a router that supports WPA then you probably shouldn't be running a wireless network anyway. We're not living in the late 90s any more.
